    Chile relleno and enchilada

Everything was good. Salsa and chips had a little bite. Chile relleno was one of the best I have ever had. I enjoyed the red sauce.

Living in Michigan, it's kind of hard to find quality Mexican food sometimes. But Fiesta Charra gives me a taste of the boarder and has quality, authentic dishes. The price is very very good. The waiters and staffs frequently checked up on us, and the ambience made us feel like we were in a senorita's kitchen.

Fajitas Texas (chicken, beef and shrimp)

My spouse and I ate dinner here during a road trip and were pleasantly surprised!! unlike some of the other reviewers, we were served our meal (piping hot fajitas) within 5 minutes of ordering. it was much faster than our favorite Mexican restaurants back home and just as good! the side plate comes with lettuce, Sour Cream, Guacamole, Pico, rice, and Refried beans (has some cheese on the beans). The Texas fajitas plate had chicken, beef, and shrimp with onion green pepper, and tomato (veggies were not too overdone - just right). No drinks or dessert this time but we did see a nearby table of 6 being served their 128 ounce tower of margaritas!

    Fajita Carne

Great food. Got the fajita carne and the plate came out sizzling hot. The beef tasted great. Good size outdoor patio. Service was decent, came out pretty quick. It's got a American Mexican food vibe to it. Probably not authentic but it's good.

    Quesabirria

Very friendly waiter, good drinks, and good food. The quesabirria was outstanding! My wife had a steak quesadilla and it was just okay, but everything else we had was very good.

    Tortilla chips

Needed a quick carry out lunch that was close to home and decided to try the new Fiesta Charra in East Lansing. I ordered the taco trio with corn tortillas and it came with chips and salsa, rice, and beans. The tacos came with two tortillas each and I really liked the flavor of the chorizo one. The pork was also good and had a nice char like it was cooked over an open flame grill. The beans were on the thicker side and the rice was a smidge dry but otherwise not too bad. The salsa was on the mild side of medium spice and went well with the both the tacos and tortilla chips. For the price, it was a great and filling lunch.

The soggy shredded quesadilla that I got instead of my two grilled chicken quesadillas.
    Alyssa D.

This was my second time ordering from this location, the first time we were given a shredded chicken nacho instead of beef (the chicken was super chewy and not at all appealing) This time we called in the order for pick up again but once we got to the restaurant they told us they didn't have any orders. They remade them but this time when I ordered the two grilled chicken quesadilla with just chicken and extra cheese I was given an order of two extra soggy shredded chicken quesadillas with the works inside of them. We had a credit from the last time they messed up the order but that was no where to be found either. Sorry but this was the second strike, you've lost business from me and my family.

I was excited to hear that my family decided to meet up there for a post-Thanksgiving/birthday celebration for my niece the day after Thanksgiving. My brother arranged their private room for our group of 13 and it was a great experience. It took a bit for them to make sure the room was ready, but it was so cozy and pretty. The "happy birthday" menus are a nice touch. We were also able to bring in our own cake/cupcakes. We ordered some appetizers for the table - calamari and spinach artichoke dip. They were both good but the spinach artichoke dip was my favorite. The calamari was cooked nicely but a little bland. The dipping sauces were nice and a good variety. For my entree, I went with the Market Catch - king ora salmon. You can choose from several different options and select your preferred cooking method. I went with broiled and asked for it medium rare. Our main meals all came out at staggered times, but it wasn't too bad. I really liked the mashed potatoes that came with my plate. The fish was a little under seasoned, but cooked pretty close to medium rare. The portion size was great for me. Others had the fish and chips, shrimp and crab tortellini, seared scallops and risotto, etc. The shrimp and crab tortellini looked especially delicious! I didn't hear any complaints about the meals. I did have a bite of the clam chowder and found the clam I had to be pretty chewy and tough. Our server was really great the entire time, with refills constantly being poured and managing everyone's orders well. I would recommend this spot for a special occasion in their private room.

The decor is welcoming and stylish with comfortable seating. Our waitress was kind and patient in guiding us in our entree selections. She was knowledgeable of the menu and the bar. The bartender won our respect by properly preparing a vesper martini. All of our food options were beautifully plated, offering enough to share with our appetizers and leftovers of our main entrees. Delicious. Every single item was cooked to perfection and rounded out by their potatoes and seasonal vegetables which were also flavorful and cooked to perfection. Can't wait to return to try more menu options!

Here are all the things that went right: - we were immediately greeted by the bartender Jackson and presented menus and water and told about the featured cocktails -as we were deciding what to drink, I noticed a pretty impressive coctktail list and a list of some very good, rich red wines -the Angel's Envy Bourbon Berry Smash was delicious..spoken by someone who normally doesn't like bourbon but wanted to try an Angels Envy bourbon drink that was not too sweet. I chose the raspberry rosemary syrup as the berry of choice. My boyfriend had a well made gin and soda. -nice to see there were appetizer and entree specials. Makes you want to come back to see what will be on the specials list each week in addition to a nice well-rounded menu -Jackson helped us select among multiple good sounding entrees. As a pescatarian I wanted a seafood dish and decided on the suggested seafood risotto. My date was between a couple of fish dishes but after a discussion with the bartender and a further description he decided on the Maui Mahi with coconut risotto. We chose to split a salad rather than have an appetizer. -the meal--the salad came out on two plates so we did not need to divide the spring mixed berry and goat cheese salad. It was delicious and fresh and definitely enough for two side salads. We were also provided some warm crusty bread with olive oil and balsamic. Our entrees were of good portion size, visually appealing and HOT---not just warm---which I greatly appreciated and talked about after we left. The risotto was prepared perfectly by someone who clearly knows how to make a proper risotto--it was not gluey and set-up, but perfectly tender and creamy. The seafood was delicious. The scallops were seared nicely and not overly salty (something many restaurants don't understand is that you typically don't have to salt shellfish as it is salty/briny on its own). My boyfriend's mahi was sizable portion on top of an ever so slightly sweet and spicy coconut risotto. His was fantastic as well. We also enjoyed the sautéed zucchini that came with both..also nice and hot! -we had a delicious bottle of wine with dinner. After we paid for dinner and left with our remaining wine, we promptly came back in because of the heavy downpour of rain. We sat back down and finished our wine. The things that could be ever so slightly improved: -the lighting in the dining area is fitting of the decor and vibe of a nicer restaurant but the lighting at the bar is just too bright. Could maybe benefit from dimming them and possibly adding a few candals oe the small table/rechargeable lamps along the bar as it seemed wide enough. -the shrimp on the risotto should be two larger shrimp (8-10 size ) rather than the very small shrimp that don't seem to fit the vibe of the dish -there were only two options for dessert...maybe another one or two would be great -a little birdie told us that the restaurant will be having a happy hour menu soon (and a second location). We would LOVE for you to add some truffle fries with some sort of aioli...we can envision ourselves stopping in for those and some wine...often! Great addition to the limited higher end restaurants in the area. We look forward to many more meals there.

The service was better than any other establishment in recent memory, possibly ever in my life. Lily was our server and was amazing. Drinks, appetizers, entrees and desert quality was so far above expectation (i mean, this is lansing after all, not New York or Chicago) that my wife and i were extremely impressed. As a Retired Navy veteran ive been all over the world, 37 countries actually, and Capital Prime is easily top 10 meals ever, possibly top 5. What wonderful decor, ambiance, attitudes, service, quality. Cant say enough about how much we enjoyed our anniversary dinner last night. A side note about some other reviews: Wow, reading some of these less-than-stellar reviews made me laugh a little. One was a disheveled un showered couple with a dog, feeling discriminated against because of her disability, had to include they are both MDs like that makes them better and thus entitled to be dirty and smelly with a filthy animal around a fine dining atmosphere. 1-star rating because these disgusting people expect the world to bow to their disabled war veteran doctor ass thinks common decency doesn't apply to them. I can hear her now, karen ass war vet yelling about how its illegal to refuse a service dog entry, on a packed night, people trying to enjoy their meal with dirty vagabonds and their stench. Disgusting. Another reviewer gave three stars after being seated in a room with his group that is reserved for parties, not as elegantly dressed as other areas of the restaurant. He must be so fancy.

There was one small piece of lobster in this bite, so not the most generous portion for the price. Main: 6 Oz Filet Mignon 3/5 - The meat was cooked well (to medium rare) and had a great crust on the exterior. This carried the dish (as it should). The accompanying sides, mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies, would be best left out. The broccolini and green beans were salty and overcooked, extremely soft and cooked well past it's ideal texture. The mashed potatoes were ok, but are just there as a filler. Side: Michigan Kale Salad 2/5 - The ingredient list sounded superb, but the execution was not there. The kale pieces were LARGE and were hard to eat in bites. It desperately needed another chop (or few) and a deep tissue massage. The salad was also HEAVY on the red onion - if that's your thing, then this is a great salad for you. The red onion was added with a heavy hand and needed to be soaked in water prior to serving to get rid of the pungent bite. Pass. The free bread rolls were ok as well, but I would rather have a Texas Road House roll.
