I drove by Fieldwork Brewing so many times but finally got a chance to try it out. IPAs aren't usually my go-to but the ones I ordered didn't disappoint. The Blueberry Parfait Sour Beer is my favorite, it has a hint of sour, not overwhelming at all, so got a full size after the flight and a crowler to-go. You can customize your flight by ordering sampler size from the menu or get their preset one for $15. They do not serve food but the staff was so friendly and recommended a few restaurants nearby since they allow you to bring in outside food. I love the relaxed atmosphere -very IG friendly- spacious seating arrangement; you can come by yourself or with a large group and there will be something for you. I have been here three times for happy hour. Nearly every single beer on the menu has changed between visits. It is amazing how many different good beer varieties they carry. I am not a huge fan of the community seating inside but it's fine and when the weather finally gets nice I am looking forward to the outdoor seating. Only downside is I like to eat during happy hour. They don't serve any food and the food trucks which are often parked outside charge way too much for happy hour ($8 fries, etc). Really wish they served some basic bar food. read more

Fieldwork is a fun, buzzing place to have a quality beer in a fun atmosphere. While they are located all over the Bay Area (the mother ship is in Berkeley), I went to the one closet to my house in San Ramon. The atmosphere is bright and inviting, an outside bar are is very nice with fire pits and comfortable seating. The inside is equally inviting. Not sure how many beers they serve but it's a lot. I picked Old Lover which is a very smooth Pilsner that I really enjoyed. The only down side is that Fieldwork doesn't serve food ....kind of a bummer but there are food trucks located a few feet away. read more

Took my daughter who is 4 here for an impromptu dinner after playing in the water feature at the LOT. I give this place a 2 star for food because the crust was tasty and 0 star for family friendly and overall experience. We weren't greeted pleasantly or welcoming, not knowing it's pretty much self-service stood around and finally learned we seat ourselves. Only to find a table and sit around more because I did not know the ordering was done through your own phone. Took several attempts to get eye contact with the servers, one of them was trying hard to avoid coming in our direction and was super avoidant. Nonetheless, managed to get one to come over and he insists on me ordering on some new system using my phone. Meanwhile, my daughter is using my phone and going into behavior so I am trying to keep her calm and allowing her to use it. I asked him if he can to take my order since she has my phone, he agreed. He took my order for a margherita pizza and wings, which I asked for the sauce on the side so my daughter can have some too. The pizza was a essentially a cheese pizza with regular cheese and some basil on it, not actually what the description stated. Except its $2 more than an actual cheese pizza, which was what I was initially going to order. The wings came last, we were pretty much done with the pizza at this point, and they were rubbery and drenched in a pool of oil. I tried pulling back the rubbery oily skin and eat the meat but its was just not pleasant to look at or eat. All in all- doubt I'll ever go back here. Paid nearly $50 for okay food and barely okay service. Times are tough and you shouldn't have to pay over inflated prices AND walk out a business feeling less than or worse. It should leave you walking away happy and full. Also, I asked if there was any kids activity, like color crayons or something and the server chuckled saying "really" and brought over a pen and paper, A for effort but the energy was all off in his response. Good beers here but you can cut through the pretentious with a butter knife. Boy do they think they are something special. We arrived at 8 pm , no problem but the staff was overly restrictive with our mask routine and was rude when sitting all 6 of us. Initial experience was fine...we thought we would close the tab (about 9:15...BUT closing time was 10:00) When closing the tab here they have a tablet system where the server stands over you while you add the gratuity. I made a joke to my server about the tip % and he said "make it good, we deserve $30 per hour!!!" Big turn off!! So after we signed the tab (about 9:25) we thought we'd order another round. After all they were open until 10:00. Literally 3 mins after we closed out and they refused to serve us. They turned others away at the door. Our particular server told us he had to clean!!! No fair service -- Let me share our experience. I don't even think this place deserve a single star. Today March 19 2021 Friday at 6pm we reserved the table, we were asked to leave the table at 8pm with a reason we have to leave the place for other people reserved the same table and the reservation is valid for 2 hours. Then the person taking our order first said we can place our last order. But after some time same person came to us and saying he is canceling our order . He can only serve us in a new table, that too he is not willing to give us any table with heater. It was terrible experience. We noticed some folks sitting opposite to us enjoying their time without any restrictions. We strongly believe that this restaurant is kicking us out of the table because we are Asians. We did experience such instances in the past too. I would recommend all my friends not to visit this place as they are fully biased towards one community. Awesome beers. Lack of any food was a bit annoying but the beers were no doubt very fresh and flavorful.

I tried this brewery out after hanging out with co-workers just to socialize and try out some great beers. This branch has a very cool vibe and an excellent social atmosphere inside and outside with friendly staff, knowledgeable on what beers they serve. Beers - this brewery has a great selection and a huge variety of beers they sell here. This is a first time for me - but customer service here is top notch - knowledgeable staff, highly recommended picks and friendly service. 5/5! They don't have any on-site food - but maybe you can bring some food. Drink - beers are great here - I highly recommend the flight = choice of 7 beers that is filled 1/3 of a wine glass but so worth it! Oh, it's like $15 or $17. I just forgot but I was enjoying my experience - drink, chit chat and my 2 compadres were so into it - they have a love of trying out microbreweries especially in beers. They actually know their stuff. There are about 5 of us. My highly recommended beers is just really depends on preference, taste and what you really like. But for me, highly recommend the Galaxy Juice, All of their sours - not too sweet fruity notes but little sour. Goes well with anything light beers. For Belgian Ale - I like the Chloe. I had the Dankable Planet - a very light beer, crisp sparkling notes to it. This really will go great with a fatty white fish sandwich or maybe something deep fried or a burger. Another is Galaxy Juice - an IPA that taste like a citrusy pina colada, very smooth when you gulp it. This is really awesome for a very hot day. I had the Chloe Belgian ale - their very light Belgian ale but a subtle bitter taste. Ambiance and atmosphere - they have a very social atmosphere and the vibe here is so cool. It is very clean, organized and it is so welcoming. The view in San Ramon is like an urban city with a lot of trees, so calming. The patio is dog friendly! I have learned so much about drinking beers from any independent microbreweries - it is very nice that I went to hang out but the beers here are worth going! Better come with friends, co-workers, relatives to have a good time and also taste their excellent selection of beers. They also sell beers to take home on different sizes. But better check what kind of beers they sell for 1 of 5 locations - it is varied. read more

Shout out to Fieldworks for great service, awesome beer, and good food. We made an online reservation for a party of eight for indoors (only online option). We called early in the day to switch the reservation to outdoors and were told they'd do the best they could to accommodate us. We are a group of cyclists that stage from different pubs each week and this week was Fieldworks. We prefer to keep our bikes with us which is why we wanted the outdoor option. Due to a few late arrivals and subsequent flat, we were delayed about 45 minutes. We called a few times to let them know we were on our way and we wanted to keep our reservation. The response was always "no problem." When we arrived, there were no outdoor options. Our amazing host offered a few options: move a smaller party to another table or take an indoor table. When I explained the issue with watching our bikes, his response was "no problem, we have a room where we can serve you and where you can bring your bikes." We were also given a server who attended to our needs (hungry and thirsty cyclists). The food/beer was served quickly, our water glasses kept full, and we were checked in on frequently. Incredible service that makes us want to return for our weekly pub rides. read more

Lots of good beer! The staff was also super attentive and friendly. You can get a flight of up to 6 beers for $2 a taster on most beers. They also have a ton of outdoor seating and a couple fire pits which were super nice. The bar inside has limited seating and was completely full, even though we came at around 3 pm on a weds. Lol my only improvement would be to offer food, even if only basic yet filling appetizers. I think it feels safer, too, knowing you're eating while drinking and not just loading up on alcohol. Really terrible service. Servers never showed up so we went to the counter to order. We were sitting right in front. Counter person asked us to wait for server at the table. Another 20 minutes passed, no service. We had to remind the counter again. Additionally, the tab was closed without asking us. Something is seriously wrong with the operations. I cannot give this place enough stars. It's our go-to weekend getaway from Oakland. The beers are always fresh and excellent (even if 80%+ of the assortment is hazies... I'm not mad) and they're super accommodating of families. We routinely come to post up on the couches and spend the afternoon sampling and playing games. They don't serve food but you can BYO and there are some great options in the complex -- we're partial to Mendo. read more

TLDR; I HAD A RACIALLY DISCRIMINATORY EXPERIENCE A lot of the recent reviews talk about how much the service sucks here, and the owner admitted to me after I reached out on Instagram, that this has been an issue for weeks in San Ramon but it seems that there hasn't been any action taken toward improvement. So here's my story - On Saturday my brother, our significant others, and I came here for lunch. The brewery was fairly packed but we spotted about five tables open when we got to the front. We were seated promptly, however it was at the sunniest table they had available (it was 100+ degrees this day). We sat at the table for about 10 minutes and couldn't stand it so we wanted to ask if we could switch to one of the other four tables that were free. This was our first issue; we didn't have anyone come to our table to acknowledge us for the first 10 minutes after we were seated. We then decided to move ourselves to the table next to us. A party of three came shortly after and that was when the manager tells me "I put you all at that table for a specific reason, we need space for social distancing". 1.I thought this was bullshit because the table they sat us at originally was closer to another table than this table we moved to but okay, no big deal..we moved back. 2. I also tried to explain that we moved because there's absolutely no shade and his response was " well, it's hot out here". After moving back, I had to flag down a server who told me that she's in the middle of something & she'll be back. Her coming back took another 5-10minutes. In that time, my boyfriend quickly notices another party of 4 who's leaving so he walks to the front to ask if we can move over - they said it's fine. After we moved over, the server I flagged down came to take our order. We ended up ordering four beers, and some food from C-Casa since they had a partnership with the restaurant next-door. Our beers came out quick so we sat there drinking them and talked for about 40 minutes. In this 40 minutes, again no one came over to check on us or bring waters. I started to get irritated because I noticed that there were a few parties who came after us who received their food orders along with their beers and waters. *Note that these patrons who came after were all caucasian and that we were the only all asian party here*. I get up to go check on the status of my food with the restaurant and that's where it really goes downhill. They said they couldn't find an order for my table so they walked back to the brewery with me and it turns out that our server never put our food order in. The server looks over at me, picks up the receipt on the side and had the girl on the register put it in as I was standing there. Okay, I can usually understand that mistakes happen but she neither said sorry to me or even looked sorry about it. I told them I want to close out my tab, cancel my food order and leave but they were insistent that they'll bring it out in five minutes. Because my party and I were starving, we waited for the food. They did try to remedy the situation by comping my meal but it honestly doesn't take away from the micro-aggressive situation my family and I had to experience. After posting my story to instagram, I leaned that this isn't an isolated incident that occurs at just this specific Fieldworks. My friend & her (all asian) party had THE SAME experience, ON THE SAME DAY, at the Corte Madera location. The owner reached out to me to acknowledge the situation, which I can appreciate, and is trying to make up for the experience. But what I want isn't a gift card to come back, what I want is full accountability that no other BIPOC groups will come across the same experience we had and that a course of action will be taken with staff to ensure that. read more

We went to check out Field Works yesterday, Sunday, went early to make sure we could get a seat, and we got a great spot!! 4 people and 3 small dogs. Ordered a bunch of beers, tried some flights, walked around the center, played with dogs. They had fire pits lit and heating lamps running.
