Classic Cheese Pizza was delicious
Joe S.

Rename it to NeedsWork Brewing! This brewing company was a bit of an operational mess. They have a mix of indoor and outside seating and those silly barcodes where you order and pay right in the app. Leave it to Northern California Tech Country to ruin a brewery. Service was bad. The staff seemed like they didn't want to be there and the waitress seemed annoyed that we ordered with her instead of on the app. She was going out of her way to avoid us and not take our order, not bring water, and not stop by to see if we needed anything. It was so bad I can't even give this place 3 stars for OK. They did have a nice selection of beers and I opted for their Belgian Wit which was served in a different glass than I expected. The beer was good and I was impressed with the variety. I never rate a brewery either way on the taste of the beer as that's not fair as tastes differ. But variety, glassware, temperature are all on the table and for beer, this was a winner. Foodwise, the wings seems like they were pre-baked, then reheated later. The skins weren't crispy at all. However, the Calabrian Chili Honey sauce was outstanding. If that sauce was on a properly cooked wing... that's at least worth a 2 star upgrade. The pizza was amazingly delicious! We opted for the cheese pizza over the Margherita and I was glad we did. The crust was awesome, and it had the perfect amount of toppings. We didn't think we'd finish it but it was so good and light, we did! They DID have the cup and char pepperoni but I wasn't in the mood for the grease on this particular day. I'd go back for that. TLDR: Go for pizza and beer and don't be in a rush! If they got their service together, it would be a much better experience.

Haven't been here in a hot minute! Was feeling nostalgic for some pizza and beer (had to have nonalcoholic since I'm pregnant but it was just as good!!). Warning: the black diamond pizza is spicy! I didn't read that thoroughly before ordering so had to pick the peppers off before eating. But it was so good!! I have to say since I'd last been there the pizza did feel a little more cold and mushy?! Still good but I remember it being a hotter pan and less mushy bottom. Maybe they were too busy. The wings were fantastic with ranch. We ate EVERYTHING! Left satiated. There was a private event going on but we sat away from all the ruckus outdoors which was nice! Can't believe they have screen golf too.. this place is an amazing place for private events! Should have had my baby shower here

Love this spot! They have a great selection of draft beers. They also have one of the best thin crust pizzas! My favorite is delivery boy! Literally order this and grab some cans to go weekly! They have lots of tables and seating indoors and outdoors. It is great to sit next the heaters and fire pits in the cool evenings too. Very chill vibes.

Great brewery located in the Bishop Ranch City Center! It's is a solid spot to hang out, grab a drink, and relax. The beers were good across the board and there was a nice variety to choose from. I definitely recommend getting a flight so you can try a few different styles and find your favorite. They even have a golf simulator in the back. I would definitely come back again.

Always delicious! Great food and beer. Fast, pleasant service. Great patio and indoor space. Overdue review, love coming here!

good luck finding this place. it is on the corner of an enormous mall with zero signage / directory

I first came here with my company on an event and I always thought that it is a place that sells beer only but I was wrong. They had very good pizza and snacks. I brought my daughter here for the pizza and wings, and she loves it! You sit anywhere you like and order your food by scanning the QR code on the table. The server brings out your food and you can close the tap and pay online. Ambience is very casual, but the food are fresh and good.

Glad to have a fieldwork location in San Ramon! Great outdoor area with refreshing beer flights and fresh pizza. I tried the "Churro" and it had subtle notes of vanilla, cinnamon and overall liked it. The rest of the table had flights and gave overall positive reviews. Ambiance is open and welcoming with ample seating outside. You order and pay by QR code so easy peasy although it would be nice to have someone give recommendations for a more personalized experience like in traditional breweries.

Always my go to place for beer and pizza. Located at the corner of the City Center. You can easily park in the garage and walk downstairs to Fieldwork. You're also able to easily make a reservation for either inside our outside seating. The outside seating does have a few umbrellas for shade, but not all seats may be shaded during peak afternoon. Ordering is very easy as well with the QR code at each table. There is small bar seating as well right in front of a large flat screen tv that occasionally shows sports (follow their Instagram to see when they may be showing 49ers or Warriors games). The inside seating also has 4 large benches, but those are communal and first come first serve. Pizzas are great for being from a mostly beer restaurant, and they also have smaller side dishes like Brussels sprouts and French fries. They also typically have a large rotation of beers, which you can also see on their website to see what they have. I typically get their lagers, west coast IPAs, or the hazy IPAs. If you're ever unsure of which beer to get, you can always get the tasters.

I've been to a few Fieldwork locations but this is one of my favorite ones. The ambiance is always on point, I love how big and open the space is and the fire pits are a nice touch. The food and the service is always quick. The food is delicious and always consistent. Always a great stop for our family.

A great place to relax and hangout at City Center. There's a good selection of beers to try. There's indoor and outdoor seating and you can choose anywhere to sit. I sat outside at a fire pit. I like how casual and convenient it is. You scan a QR code at the table to order, and they bring everything over. I only tried a beer flight and enjoyed it. I haven't tried the food, but from what I saw, that looked good as well.

So happy we were able to try this place out located at the LOT! Huge space - indoor, outdoor, high-tops, top gold suite, lounge area, and great ambiance. You can choose to sit anywhere that you'd like and start ordering by scanning the QR code on the table. Great variety of beers and fresh pizza. I liked how you can choose your own type of pizza - Neapolitan (thin) or Detroit (8x8 and thick). The service was great and we had an enjoyable time. Staff's Favorite - Good starter for our group because we didn't know much about beer. Bare knuckle - tater tots and bacon topped with their aioli. Amazing! Margherita pizza - can't go wrong with a classic Garlic fries - crispy and filled with garlic on top

Ask the Community - Fieldwork Brewing

Is outside food still allowed?

No it is not since they started providing their own food.

Can you order beer in a growler to go?

Yes! I have 2 growlers and I come back and they wash it and refill it for you. With a discount.

If planning a retirement party for 20+ do we need to do that in advance or can we just show up and start a tab? Also is outside food allowed?

Hi there! Thanks for the message. Please send an email to info@fieldworkbrewing.com with your preferred date and time so we can make sure to accommodate your group. We have a full food menu, so outside food isn’t allowed. Cheers!

Do they offer free wi-fi/an ok place to get some work done a few hours mid-week?

Is food offered at the San Ramon location?

YES! As of 8/1/2020 they have partnered with C-casa next door for Mexican/Southwestern food. Order from your table and they bring it out, just like a real restaurant. Also,… Read more

The place was super lively and honestly pretty packed during my visit on a week night. The lounge itself is on the smaller side, but cozy. I like the concept, there are wire racks on the wall and each table has a little wooden game board on top (mine was Chinese checkers), such a cute touch and makes the place feel a bit more interactive. Their signature cocktail menu has a lot of options, but since it was our first time, we asked the bartender for a recommendation. He suggested "Meet Me In Pearis" since we wanted something vodka-based. The drink took about 10-15 minutes to come out, which felt a bit long, but it looked like he was the only one working, serving two big parties plus a few tables, so I get it. Service overall was still good and he was nice the whole time. For the drink... honestly, it didn't really wow me. Both the flavor and presentation were pretty underwhelming. It kind of tasted like a glass of sangria to me. I guess with "Artisanal" in the name, I was expecting something a little more unique or elevated. Overall, great location, nice vibes, and I like the interior concept. Service was solid too. Just wish the drink matched the same level. Probably wouldn't come back, but glad I got to check it off my list.

"Wow, fantastic venue, fantastic beer selection!"…read more It's been quite a while since I've patronized this restaurant and I had to give it another try. We came early Sunday afternoon. Parking is easy and there's plenty of spaces for a disabled person in a wheelchair. Our server, Alex, was especially professional and courteous. She really made this a good meal for us. She was helpful in ordering suggestions and came back often to check on us. A+ service! On a beautiful, cool winter afternoon, my wife and I sat in the dining room; my wife ordered the taco plate and I ordered the pear pomegranate salad. Both were promptly served up and were absolutely delicious. Naturally, I had to order a beer. I ordered the award-winning Brown ale. Absolutely fantastic! Don't tell anyone, but they only charge $6 for pints. Thank you for the great service and great menu. Now if you could only bring back the hops growing on the wall everything would be perfect.

I paired it with their lager beer (since they don't have Coors light) and it made a great lunch paired with some crispy fries!

I hate it. It's frustrating and kind of ruined the experience for me. It's not a treat to go out if I have to struggle with the menu on a tiny device I have a hard time seeing. I also wanted to pay cash.. I mean, why can't someone just come say hello and welcome do you have questions or need assistance? I did arrive a little after the other 5 in my party and did get help eventually when a server brought out some of their drinks and food. I was then offered explanations on wines and could place an order to pay cash at the end, but ultimately had to have a friend order me another drink and pay her while she ordered from the code. I still tipped 20% but don't understand this.. It's like walking into TacoBell and having to order for myself. At least I don't have to tip there. They walk to the counter with my food or in restaurant to my table... how is this different? It's not special and I had to do all of the grunt work searching the menu instead of being able to ask my server, "Do you have any vegetarian appetizers" or "What are your white wines" ... boom one and done.. I had to spend 15 min scrolling my phone for what could be done in 2 min. Though I appreciated the order for cash paying, nobody ever checked to see if our food was okay or if we needed anything else. I wanted to order another drink for 20 min before asking a friend to order another. Still 3 stars because the minimal service we had was very friendly, the food with pretty much every appetizer on the menu was fantastic, and while I drink wine, which was good, the beers my friends tasted were very much enjoyed. It just wasn't super service oriented which was frustrating for me in my upper 50's, please wait on me if I come to your restaurant.
