Fieldwork is such a great location. The outdoor seating area is huge and they've accommodated our large groups ( 30+) on multiple locations. I like that they have a fire pit for colder nights and projector screens for game days! I'm not a beer drinker, but their non-beer and NA options have grown tremendously! The staff is kind and KNOW THEIR BEER- they are patient with those wanting to sample different beers. For food: Hummus and pita- arguably the best thing on the menu! Chunky hummus paired with fresh, warm pita bread. Wings- on the smaller side. I did not like the Calabrian hot honey at all- too tomatoey? Almost tasted like marinara sauce, not spicy at all! Buffalo wings are better. Caesar salad- I love how they add a jammy egg on top! Pizza- all really good! On small thing- their ranch isn't great. It's a bit more yellow colored than typically buttermilk ranch, so it may be flavored? I wish it were more of a classic ranch to pair with pizza and wings. Overall, solid neighborhood brewery and hangout spot.

Was happy to finally visit the San Leandro location since San Mateo is much more of a trek for us. I started with the Slice & Easy (watermelon lager, 4.8% abv) and then ordered the Raspberry Parfait Slushy (fruited sour ale, 6.4% abv) - both of those choices were great on a hot day and easy to drink. I like to come here for a couple drinks before going to Sons of Liberty Alehouse for dinner

Brews and Brew Food, you can't go wrong with the simplicity, especially in an open-air atrium-type setting with plentiful strip mall parking. That was a mouthful, so give me that brew to wet my dry mouth. Plenty of on-tap brews to select from and pizzas and finger food to get your hands grubby. We had: - Shisito Peppers - Spicy Chicken Wings - Pizza Burrata and Mushrooms? - Brussel Sprouts And at least two rounds of brews of differing varieties and alcohol content. They also had the World Cup on TV if you're into country battles....of sports of course...

Whenever I'm in town, I make it a point to come to this restaurant and tap room. It's a beautiful business with a huge outside seating area with fire pits and tons of chairs and a beautiful Olive tree. At least I think it's an Olive tree. but I didn't see any olives. Maybe it's the wrong season for olives. Of course, it could be an artificial Olive tree. Next time, I'm going to check it out. There's a great food menu, athough today, I just came for the Hills and Valleys light beer. Special shout out to the friendly and professional bartender and manager, Santiago. I hear that Buddy is really good too, but for special A+ service , see Santiago.

Personal size pizza - custom

Personal size pizza is a decent size. I got garlic sauce, mushrooms, jalapeños, red onion. The pizza is cooked nicely! Their ranch dipping sauce is not your normal ranch; must be mixed with something. I got 2 of their draft hazy IPA beers and they were good! Order via QR code. Service is decent speed.

Perf spot to hangout with family and friends on a nice day! I really enjoy their outdoor areas, and they have plenty of high chairs available so bring the kiddos too! We came on Mother's Day they had a special for 2 beers + 1 pizza for $35! We got the thin style NY pizza with bacon and tater tots and it was delicious. I also enjoyed the hazy IPA selections they had on draft.

Fieldwork is one of the top slingers in NorCal's modern craft brew scene. They've expanded to 11 tap houses in NorCal in about 8 years that go from Santa Rosa to Monterey. They're definitely on a mission. This one in San Leandro may be 2 years old and is a larger one. I think most of them are in huge spaces now with a large outdoor feature. Here their outdoor area is partially covered, like the sides, but the center is exposed to the open sky. They dot the space with large olive trees, so it has a nice beer garden vibe. We sat in their bar area, and I noticed that even though you are super close to where all the employees are, you get the most do-it-yourself type of service. We had to get our own beers at the bar station, place our food order there and repeat the process anytime we wanted anything more. Now the employees do bring the food out, will clear empties and bring a takeout box if needed. But I think the system is a bit flawed to only allow service personnel to only do partial the work, and create a system for them to avoid customer interaction. But when that tipping prompt comes up on the screen upon paying, the highlighted buttons of 18-20%+ aren't shy at glaring at you front and center. Just an observation and a 2020s cringe for me. I tried 2 of their lagers styles that day as it was pretty warm out and both were really good. Very bold and assertive in the hop ratio, which is a Fieldwork stamp. And what I liked is that they actually tasted fermented in the true lager style which is long, slow and cold. Garlic Fries ($9/4*) Standard and solid garlic fries. Thinner fries, crisp, clean and a good salt presence. A good amount of a cooked garlic is tossed in so isn't that 'spicier' raw garlic type. A dusting of parm is also in the mix. Great with cold crisp beers. Trust. Pepperoni Pizza ($22/3.5*) I remember I tried this same pizza at their San Ramon location and was really impressed with that one. Like a top 5 pizza for me here in the Bay. This one kinda had the similar traits but just wasn't as tight as my original try. The one in San Ramon was crisp throughout, without being overdone. This one was crisp on the outer edges but was limp in the center, so when picking up a slice, a major droop occurred. The pepperonis were totally legit, but the cheese here seemed more wet for some reason. Very milky in taste, but I think it is the reason why the center stayed wet. Again just an observation. Pretty good add for San Leandro, with 21st Amendment closing within the year. This keeps San Leandro a strong brew destination still with Drake's nearby still in the fray. I'm sure I'll be back, just don't love their mode of service chosen.

Came here on a warm day in San Leandro and it was the perfect vibe We didn't get a chance to try the food this time, but the menu looked solid -- pizza, salads, and wraps (definitely giving stadium-style bites). I'd come back just to explore that more. Instead, we grabbed some frosé, which was really good and refreshing. Price was about $12, which felt fair for the setting and portion. The outdoor area is honestly the highlight -- such a great space to hang out on a beautiful day. Super chill atmosphere. Definitely planning to come back and actually try the food next time!

Ambience is so good here! A good chill spot to hang out. The fries were really good! I got the tater tot pizza and I would say it was just okay. The flavor and texture didn't stick out to me.

I came here with my friends to grab a drink and some food before watching a roots game. I personally got the Radios and Rodeos and it's basically my go to if you want a nice refreshing light beer. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza to share between 3 of us and that was good enough. I've been to various fieldwork locations so it's always nice to check another one out. There's parking around the area and wasn't too rough to secure a spot but the worker told us it does usually get really busy! There is outside patio seating as well as an indoors area.

Everett L.

Great flight and flavor. I like how you can pick different flavors and try new things yum

My favorite hazy IPAs in the bay. Fieldwork has some great beer and good pizza. The outside area can get pretty busy later in the day. The service is kinda meh, but expected since it gets a little hectic. The outside area is nice and has a lot of places to relax and chat with friends.

Saleen L.

One of our fave places to bring our pup! We often stop by on the weekend for an afternoon snack, and always opt for outdoor seating since we bring our pup. Given the off-time we were always able to find a seat or bench outside, which is a pretty nice/large outdoor space. Def enough space to put some distance between the pups as well. You have to order drinks/food via a QR code but the staff does bring out food/drinks and then also check in on tables regularly. The menu itself has a good variety of beers, also a few ciders. But I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of food options here, that most breweries def. Lack. Food talk: (1) Brussels Sprouts - can be a hit or miss, some days I've had them come out piping hot & well seasoned, other times they can be a bit bland. (2) Garlic Fries - tasty thin fries with a yummy, buttload of garlic! (3) Chicken wings - sweet and a little bit spicy, but tasty overall. (4) Caesar - this was OK, little too much dressing so it got a bit salty: (5) Pizza - Detroit style is def the way to go here, it's a thick square personal size pizza - both the Margherita & Delivery Boy are my faves! Also had the Fun Guy (Neapolitan style), which is more thin and worked well for the mushroom style pizza.

It's got a relaxed, unpretentious beer garden atmosphere, and it's become one of our favorite neighborhood hangouts. First, the beer is excellent! I'm not just saying that, it's very good beer. The selection leans pretty heavily toward IPAs, but they have pilsners and lagers for the rest of us too. There's a rotating selection of other styles as well, but if you're an IPA enthusiast, you'll be particularly happy here. The food is excellent. This isn't just a brewery serving something to soak up the alcohol. They have a proper kitchen, and the food is consistently well done. The fries are thin, shoestring-style, nicely cooked, and delicious. The wings are terrific, the burgers are generous and satisfying, and I've had the fish tacos several times and enjoyed those as well. Good, solid food, with portions and prices that seem very reasonable for the quality. Orders are delivered pretty quickly. The place is set up as a casual outdoor beer garden, with picnic tables and benches that make it well suited for groups and get-togethers. It's relaxed, friendly, and completely chill. You order at the counter, and they bring your food out to your table. The staff are genuinely nice people, and the service has always been very good. One thing to keep in mind is that much of the seating is outdoors. There are covered areas and some heaters, but it can get chilly in the evenings, so bring a jacket if the weather is cool. We actually have most of our horse community get-togethers and parties here. Ghost Town is conveniently located near the East Bay Regional Park District trails and many of the local barns, so it's an easy place for everyone to meet up. The picnic-table seating works particularly well for our group, and it's just a fun, comfortable place to spend an evening with friends. My only real gripe is parking. It's street parking along MacArthur Boulevard and the surrounding neighborhood, which can be a little challenging. Parts of the area can also feel a bit sketchy, particularly after dark. Not Ghost Town's fault, of course, but something worth being aware of. All in all, a terrific neighborhood brewery.

The lady at the counter busted our line down quickly and efficiently and the food came out pretty quickly as well. Beer was poured at the counter. The outdoor seating area is delightful, clean, and well-shaded. Food is brought out but dishes are personally bussed. I got the cherry sour which was very sour and fruity - a little surprising (in a good way), delicious, and refreshing. I ordered the fish and chips but wanted a vegetable so I also got the melon and tomato salad. I'm a sucker for flan so I also had to try that. The fish and chips were perfect and piping hot and crispy. The salad was unfortunately a little disappointing; neither the melons nor tomatoes tasted very ripe so the whole salad was just a bit lacking in flavor. The flan also had a sliiiightly overcooked texture, but was overall pretty good, with a well-executed caramel sauce. Portions are also very generous!
