This was a lovely place for breakfast. We were on a road trip and normally have a policy of not eating at chains and not eating at the same place twice. We made an exception for Field to Fork. Wanted to love out experience, but out eggs benedict was not executed well for how much is being charged. The egg yokes were solid in the poached eggs for both of our plates, and the sauce was watery. For that price and being served a small plaim side salad, the poached eggs and hollondaise should have been perfect. The creme brulee french toast was excellent. The side of bacon was very average for $5. I expected Nueske quality for that price. Very kind staff but very slowly slow. Weve had a lot of good eggs benedict (Blues Egg, Engine Company..), this one fell short. Maybe a few tweeks in quality control and this could be fixed. read more

This was our first time here and came because of a Yelp recommendation. We were seated on the second floor. Seating is really small. I kinda felt like I was sitting at a doll table. The chairs forced you to sit up straight. Our table was packed with waters and drinks to begin with. There was no kids menu for the AM. I made the mistake of ordering a frittata for my daughter and she only ate 1/100th of it at normal menu price. They said they only have a kids menu for lunch and dinner. The frittata I ordrered for my liittle one was more like an omelet with a salad on top. It was flat and had an assortment of veggies in it. At $9.95 I thought it would be a thick frittata like the kind you make in a cast iron skillet. Omelets themselves were inexpensive without any added ingredients but a $2.50 upcharge to add any ingredients. It was cheaper to order the frittata. The hubby had biscuits and gravy. Good and filling also at $9.95. The oldest had chocolate chip waffles she was happy with. My chiquilles were ok. Tortilla chips topped with salsa verde, cheese, and two eggs for $10.95. We hardly had elbow room to eat. I might give it a 3 1/2 stars for service alone. I ordered a Americano and waited for about 20 minutes. Finally I asked for a juice. Then she came with the Americano the next time she made her way up the stairs. When we were leaving it took 15 minutes for the check to be picked up with a credit card. A hostess and several waitresses passed. Also no refills on cold drinks like sodas. I don't know if our waitress was new or just having an off day? I liked the different menu ideas but service was lacking and it was $50.00 for the four of us. We probably couldn't afford dinner. read more

We live in Chicago, but come to Sheboygan to visit my parents. Today we got breakfast at Field to Fork. The Big John breakfast sandwich was amazing: the carmelized onions were savory and delicious and the chicken sausage was flavorful and you could tell it was freshly made and not processed. My husband got the chorizo omelette which was flavorful but not too spicy. I love the bread that they sell and use in their restaurant. Overall, the meals were filling and hearty but still felt healthy and fresh. I would definitely recommend eating here for breakfast/lunch! The service was also great. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Field to Fork. This place is a breath of fresh air for Sheboygan. I don't live here, but have been coming here every summer for 20 years. Field to Fork is consistent with a newer trend (hopefully permanent) in restaurants across the country in that it features locally-grown food. This is a quality restaurant. Yes, it may cost more (though really not THAT much more) than McDonald's or other "restaurants," but this food is more pure and has FLAVOR. Also, there are no preservatives, nor transfats (i.e., partially hydrogenated oils) in their food. I went for breakfast; and although I wanted to try everything on the menu, I opted for the French Toast, which they describe as "creme brulee caramelized french toast." My husband had the "Pair O'Eggs" with toast and sausage. All bread, including that of the french toast, is baked at the restaurant. I also had a mocha. The cost of the mocha was less than Starbucks, the serving was larger, and it was delicious. They even ROAST the coffee beans at the restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly and polite. This is the first time I've been to Field to Fork in over a year. Last time, though I really can't recall what I had, I remember thinking it was really good and wanting to bring my husband... This time? Not so much. I liked sitting upstairs, and the corn chowder was fine (sweet, as one would expect, but nothing wrong with it)... but that's where the similarities to my previous delightful meal end. The side salad was just lettuce with lots of vinaigrette dressing. Ok... My hummus pita was filled more with the 'sweet and spicy (not really at all spicy) vegetable medley' than it was hummus... and overall it just was somewhat odd. I can say, afterward, I was full enough,.. but that it hadn't been fun to eat. My friend had a lamb burger and was similarly disappointed. "How was it?" Her face grew a slight pout. Am I allowed to review this place based on the strength of their bakery counter alone? We stopped after lunch at Il Ritrovo and decided to sample a few treats for dessert. Their version of the French macaron was "just okay" - too large, a tad stale and tasting of artificial flavoring. Their chocolate chip cookies on the other hand, are amazing. They're the super thin, crunchy kind and after eating part of one I immediately turned back around, went into the store and bought 4 more for later. The lady working said that's not uncommon. I did not have breakfast so I was more than ready to devour the beef stroganoff-esq dish I ordered. It was HEAVENLY! (This is the first time I have ever used "heavenly" to describe food.) It was a bit more on the salty side but it still tasted great. The beef and gravy-like sauce worked so well with the rice. I was a little disappointed at the size of the meal at first compared to the size plate everybody else got, but I felt stuffed after 3/4 of the way. Another bonus was the dish stayed HOT the entire time! The heavy meet, rice, and sauce retained the heat really well. Every bite after my first one was sizzling. If this dish was not $20 dollars, I would come here everyday to see if this is their daily special. Yes, this was a delicious meal but I did not expect to pay $20 for stroganoff. Field to Fork features an ever changing, locally crafted menu that bursts with flavor and nuance. It also shares its roof with an Italian cuisine restaurant, Il Ritrovo, and in the middle of both is a specialty grocery store that features fresh, local grown produce as well as an in house bakery and (local made) specialty cheeses that caters to the type of flavor that both eateries offer! Field to Fork is definitely the type of place to go on that day when you have no where to be. I love this restaurant, from the delicious food to the friendly staff. Because of this, I am willing to wait the extra time between order and the food's arrival. I also understand that this is not the ideal restaurant for children. Although they do have a kids menu, there are no "free refills" on soda or coloring menus or happy meals or anything that is featured at McDonald's. Leave the Young tigers at home! Or just don't go there. Try to use your brains, parents. Please see the attached pictures to have an idea of some of the deliciousness that they are slangin! They have 3 different soups that change on a daily basis, they are usually eclectic and bursting with unexpected flavor. For entrees, I recommend the lamb burger (photoed) or their Cuban sandwich. Haven't left a review in a long time, but this place truly merited it. Went on a Friday just after lunch time. We were waiting for a table Il Ritrovo, but the wait was going to be 30 minutes. So I could tell we'd get a table at Field to Fork pretty quickly and indeed were seated immediately. We sat upstairs and our server approached us almost immediately. We knew what we wanted to order and ordered right away. Tried the cheese curds and they were somewhat as expected and as you find in a lot of places like this around the state. That said, they were underwhelming and I wouldn't get them the next time. Then came the main course. I ordered the classic burger and basically had it as a plain cheeseburger. I also ordered some fries to go along with it. The burger was huge (which should have been expected as it's 6oz). The fries were thick cut without being thick cut if that makes sense. I also noticed the ketchup looked a bit thicker than your normal ketchup. Well it all was amazing. Best burger I've had in at least a decade, and I've had more than you! In fact, best I've ever had in Wisconsin. Same goes for the fries. Amazing fries and not a bad one in the bunch. And then the ketchup. I was a bit worried I wouldn't like it, but it was perfect. I enquired with the server about it and will now be buying it for my home. Food was perfectly prepared (burger was exactly medium well as ordered), tasted "field fresh", was warm.... Amazing lunch and if I lived in Sheboygan I'd be there once a week at least. I was a bit full to try the bakery items, but plenty of those looked good including the generous pies. My dear friend in Sheboygan patronized this restaurant all spring to help them say afloat. On July 1, she called to order a take-out lunch for both of us. Two grilled chicken sandwiches and some fries. She was told that they were "too busy" to handle take out orders. The website actually shows that they do take out. Seems now that dine-in business has picked up, (for who knows how long), someone has amnesia about their supporters. Yes, the food is excellent, but will not be back soon. read more

Very good locally-sourced food in the heart of downtown Sheboygan. I've had breakfast and lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. I appreciate a place that is willing to feature its suppliers on the menu. For breakfast I had an omelette that was perfectly prepared. For lunch, I had the felafel pita, which was very good. Field to Fork is great food and very good service. I downgraded 1 star because I thought the prices were too steep. $13.95 for a burger without a side is pricey. You do get high quality food and ingredients for your money, just beware that you pay a premium. read more

I have been here many times over the course of a few years due to traveling to sheboygan for work. This time, however, we were rudely dismissed by a waiter who refused to serve us because we are black. we asked about sitting outside because a friend is a 2 x cancer survivor and it was best for her to sit outside. the hostess told us we couldn't, even though there was a full table of white patrons being served by a waiter. when I asked the waiter about sitting outside he told us they didn't have enough people in the kitchen, which didn't make any sense (I have waited tables). then I asked if he could suggest another open restaurant and he got an attitude with us and walked away saying no. when i went inside to talk to them i saw he and the hostess laughing. that's when i lost it and cursed him out. sheboygan definitely has some "diversity" issues but this is the first time in my life I've ever been refused service due to blatant racism. I've eaten at all of the restaurants by this same owner and have never been disrespected this way. i hope that waiter and waitress were fired. read more

Returning to Sheboygan after moving away five years ago, this was first on my list to return to and definitely a recommended place to grab a bite to eat. We came to the area with four other families and much to my delight, they graciously took our reservation for 20 plus a high chair on a Saturday morning. I enjoyed the breakfast burrito. It had a nice heat and was huge. I will admit it wasn't *quite* as good as I had remembered it - maybe a little heavy on the chorizo when I would have liked to see a bit more rice and hash, and I didn't see or taste the guacamole. Our family also had the creme brûlée French toast, smoothies, blueberry pancakes and the Sheboygan omelet. Next time I would do the Sunrise. It's all simply good food, made all the better because people who care about it are preparing it for you. We were well taken care of; service was with a smile the entire time. You would think with a party of 20 there'd be an error here and there and you would be right, there were, but they were rectified quickly. The restaurant and store itself are awesome to browse in. Groceries (organic/local), specialty Italian products, dishes, wine, bread, cheese, and a bakery case are highlights. Major disappointment to me to not see Stefano's meatballs in the deli case as I haven't forgotten how good those are! If you have the opportunity to try this place out, do so. While I won't formally review Stefano's other places as I haven't been in a few years, last I knew they would all be excellent options too. Trattoria was the best in town and a five star place hands down (but plan on a two hour food event, not a quick bite). Duke of Devon was always fantastic and I loved Il Ritrovo with all of my being too. You can't go wrong - pick according to your mood. read more

The first thing we saw as we walked in was a smiling face greeting. She had told us we had a 30 minute wait, and we were welcome to walk around in their little grocery area. I found a bar at the restaurant instead. The bartender was as kind and professional as anyone could expect. About 15 mins at the bar we were seated. We ordered the cheese curds that had an avocado ranch as the dipping side. The curds were both crispy and perfectly cheesy. The ranch dressing had a big bold flavor but not overpowering. My main dish was an omelet. This omelet was packed FULL of meat and cheddar cheese, all locally sourced. The bread was baked freshly, and toasted to perfection. 5/5 10/10 100/100 brekkie. My beautiful girlfriend had the turkey club, each bite she took, she looked at the sammich like she looks at me when I'm dressed up, so I know she loved that. The service was 5 star. Tried this restaurant at the recommendation of employee of the resort we're staying at. Food was good. We ordered lunch. At the recommendation of our waiter, we ordered both of the specials. One was a Fall salad the other a specialty burger. He came back and said the salad the was sold out. :/ Must've been good! I ordered the burger well done. It came back very pink...and dripping red when I cut into it. The Mrs. ordered their margarita. It was small ($11) but the taste was a pleasure. I ordered a Whiskey Old Fashioned sweet. Typically, I specify a whiskey but this time I thought I'd try the house whiskey. Waiter asked if I wanted any garnishes. Cherry and orange slice, please. Got 1 out of 2. The flavor was good but I think they forgot the whiskey. Then I saw the price, $4. Yup must've passed on adding any whiskey. Overall the good was good. Cheese curds were great! Service was standard. It is difficult to rate as in the past I would have given it a 4. However today I was not as impressed. The atmosphere as always is wonderful with a great Italian store to shop at when done eating. Very clean and comfortable given the challenges of COVID. We shared a chicken melt and cheese curds. The cheese curds were greasy with the grease on the plate. It seemed as if they were cooked in two separate batches as some were much darker than others. The flavors and batter was just average. The sandwich was excellent with great flavor with the aioli. However it was priced at $14 for just the sandwich on the plate with a pickle. That was surprising and not a great value. I have been here before with better luck but the value for what we received was disappointing. Will likely try again in case this was an off day. read more

Finally I settled on some breakfast tacos, although, I now regret, considering they weren't anything I could have scrambled up at home. The portion size was very small, and both tacos came with an extra tortilla underneath, a smart trick for messy tacos. However, as the tacos were mainly egg (with meat cooked right in), hardly anything fell, leaving me with two plain tortillas. The tacos lacked diverse flavors, which made the salsa handy-but it could have used an extra layer (like guacamole or sour cream)-without adding another $2 to the bill. Salsa verde, or tomatillo salsa, as they served was on the more bitter side of things rather than the sweet or spicy it could have provided. Not only was it a not so great flavor, but it's muddled green color was a bit unappealing. Hoping to fix my disappointing breakfast, I picked up a peanut butter fudge brownie - which was beautiful, yet lacking the rich fudgey flavor, and had quite dry peanut butter on top. I'm sorry, but Betty Crocker wins this round of desserts. Sadly, I don't think I'll be returning. I have had better experiences there (as they were the birthplace for the love of my favorite burger), the food just really isn't as good as it could be for the price. Its a unique shop and restaurant but just too foo foo for me. Looking for a stack of pancakes this morning but they only have buckwheat which I just don't care for the taste. I ordered eggs, homemade toast snd sausage which was very good. I also ordered a beet drink from their fresh juice bar. Very delicious. Joshua was my server and he was helpful and patient to let me take time to look through the menu. Their regular Coffee was strong but had plenty of cream and sugar to tame it. We had to stop again to our favorite restaurant of all time on our way north to Door County. Joshua was our server again & we will probably start asking for his section - he is so attentive & polite. But the food...OMG - burger was avocado, Swiss & a garlic tarragon aioli! Best ever! Usually we split so hubby ordered the breakfast burrito since their breakfasts are amazing - I warned him you are going to want a whole burger - yep, half way through - he ordered a second burger! lol The sweet potato & regular fries both tied as wonderful - even the dang pickle was great!
