We loved our stay here, a highlight of our time in Stowe! Our room was lovely, comfortable, and cozy. The lobby is beautifully decorated and a perfect spot to hang out. Breakfast each morning was delicious, pastries, fruits, oatmeal, it was different each day. The staff is incredibly friendly and made our visit extra special! There is even a hot tub that you can rent out for just your party, making it extra special!

I honestly had a pretty nice stay. The room was fairly clean except for the carpet, which was riddled with stains and should definitely be replaced. I luckily, I brought flip flops that I could wear around the room. Not far from the downtown section, I'd recommend this place.

This place is absolutely fabulous. Not only is the decor phenomenal but the front desk ladies rock. One of them helped us carry our bags to the room. They made great restaurant recs and the included breakfast was more than I expected. Rooms are super cute and clean.

We got this nice lodge right on Mountain Rd, very close to downtown Stowe and not far of a drive to many of the restaurants and attractions. The whole check in is contactless and very efficient. The lobby has a beautiful sitting area and an ample breakfast area (during the pandemic you pick a to-go bag with food enough for 2). The room had a nice balcony and very nice and clean bathroom. It's a nice comfortable place to stay with a nice hot tub and green areas to walk around. There are several restaurants and a strip mall just across the road, so it's very convenient. The Bench is right across and they have a large varied menu. The place is very charming and cozy. Free parking.

As long as you aren't planning on using the fold-out bed (which was soooo thin and lumpy), you'll be in for a treat. The staff was some of the best we've encountered. The decor is nostalgic while being up to date. The Bar and Board room is a great place for a nightcap and a game. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated, and clean. The main bed was completely comfortable. Within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, bars, stores, and most importantly, the Stowe Recreation Path, which is beautiful.

Overall, a VERY good experience. It's rainy/slow/mud season in VT, so both the hotel and the town were very dead. However, the architecture is designed for gathering in both peak summer and winter seasons. There are lots of places to enjoy the outdoors (fireplaces, pavilions, etc). The breakfast was different each day and always matched the vibe of the hotel (quiche, croissants, fruit, yogurt, etc.). There is a really nice attention to detail in both the amenities (iPads in the room, Apple TV, digital cable, cookies on arrival, neck rests in bed, bar area design) and the decor (lodge themed). Additionally, there is beer and wine for sale. All very nice and reasons I would stay again. However, these are ways I think it could improve: - Smoking pavilion needed. Standing on the uneven gravel hill is not a vibe. - The staff is either lackluster or non existent. - If you're going to charge $75 for a bottle of champagne, upgrade the brand. - Most of the breakfast foods that are served need to be on ice, for food safety reasons. - Work with local restaurants to provide more delivery options or serve heavier food at your bar - Snack/drink menu is out of date. In summation, would go back during peak season.

Bathtub in the treehouse suite

This was one of the best stays ever! We booked a room in the tree house and it was SO worth it. The room was decorated beautifully and it even had a bathtub with views of the mountains. Typically we stay down the road but decided to change things up a bit this trip and it was so worth it! Make sure to try the breakfast spread, you won't be disappointed!

I stayed at Field Guide Lodge for a weekend recently and I had a wonderful experience. The staff is very attentive-from the time you check in you get text updates on your phone and if you need anything you can text the number and receive an almost immediately reply to your inquiry. The room itself was average-it had everything we needed. I had a king room and I will say if there's only one qualm I have I wish the room was big enough to fit a small table with 2 chairs. However, this is a design preference really and not too big of a deal. If I felt like I needed a bigger space, the beautiful lobby offered plenty of it. There's a outdoor patio area with picnic tables you can enjoy your breakfast at or just hang out and chat. There are also plenty of other places in the lobby to hang out and have great conversation. The pool area is really cute. I like how you can reserve a 30 minute time slot to use the hot tub, however, the location of the hot tub at the hotel wasn't my favorite. I'd prefer it to be near the pool so I chose not to use it, but that's just a personal preference. The location is great. There a lot of great places to dine, grab coffee, or a beer at a brewery just down the road. Town is also very close by if you'd like to grab a souvenir. The location was one of my favorite things about Field Guide Lodge. Finally, I must say the breakfast is superb. Probably the BEST thing about this hotel. The breakfast menu is so cute and well thought out and their presentation is everything...looked like a wedding cocktail hour spread. I appreciated their attentiveness and attention to detail. If you're looking at hotels in Stowe, Field Guide Lodge is worth the stay. It's very quintessential Stowe and I'll be back for sure!

Really enjoyed our recent stay at Field Guide Lodge! We spent two nights and had a comfy room on the 2nd floor. The bed was very comfy and the TV could connect to Netflix or other streaming apps, which was great. We also had a big tub in our bathroom which was wonderful. Negatives would be that the shower was VERY small, and they didn't have the breakfast downstairs due to COVID. The bagged breakfast didn't contain anything we really wanted (an orange, a pastry, and some yogurt/oats), but this isn't really their fault because of the pandemic. It was somewhat of a long drive to Burlington and there was A LOT of traffic due to construction. Again, not the fault of the lodge; just something for you to know when booking. Overall, really enjoyed our experience and you can't beat it for the money!

I only have one criticism. While the A/C was working, we had difficulty regulating it to feel comfortable. It was rather cold and clammy at night, but by morning, we felt fine. It wasn't so much the cold part that bothered me, but the clammy part was what got to me. Everyone kept saying how unseasonably hot and humid it was for Stowe, so who knows... maybe the A/C just had difficulty regulating itself... or we didn't know how to use it properly. It wasn't bad, per se, but it was a little uncomfortable some of the time. The room overall, though, was really great. Also, we loved that they had Netflix and Amazon Prime, so we could settle into the shows we were missing while traveling. That was a nice surprise ! Most hotels don't offer any of that. We had planned to dine out at one of the local restaurants, but we found out they were serving dinner at Grant's, the inn's restaurant. We were tired after traveling around all day, so we stayed at the inn and ate a great meal at Grant's. (See separate review for that.) Also, the common areas in the main building next to the restaurant are very tastefully appointed, spacious, with lots of games, books and sitting areas for people to utilize. We walked around them to see what there was but returned to our room to relax and watch some of our shows. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. One night in Stowe just isn't enough, especially at the Stowe Village Inn. Let's hope there will be a next time !

The price / night was reasonable, the breakfast included was very standard (coffee, tea, some breakfast pastries / bagels) but did its job to keep us energized for the days of exploring Stowe or hitting the slopes (!) The staff were nice, helpful and friendly. We look forward to coming back soon and staying when in Stowe.

It was…read moreplenty spacious for me, and the sink was located right outside the bathroom, which actually looked good, comparatively to how it couldn't easily been a design flaw. I could brush my hair, and do all my girlie prep for the day while my partner took a shower and vice versa. Bed was comfy and gave such a great cozy vibe. Bathroom had a red light which was a mystery for me until i realized it was to warn ourselves up in the shower for those cold winter days I guess. Left it on over night and by morning it was cozy and warm~ very toasty Service was minimal but check in was friendly. Shared spaces seem so cool with lot of thought into the design.. it states that they have a sauna, pool and one options for this location is to book those interesting social media big triangle rooms. Definitely a great spot for groups and longer stays. Cons include the bathroom door wouldn't close all the way. It was no problem for us since we just wedge a bit and tell the other when we're busy. If you had children or someone childish, it's be annoy, especially since it's obvious when using the bathroom.

Wasn't too busy so it was easy and quick process. They have some arcade area, lounge, gym, and indoor pool in the building. They also offer some complementary coffee, tea and water. Once we got the room key we drove up the building and brought our stuff in. Room was small and cozy. Dim lighting with some wooden cabin style decorations. They have small bathroom with toilet and a shower. The bathroom has interesting red light switch that warms the bathroom which is nice for cold days and when taking a shower. The sink is outside the bathroom which is ok i suppose. There is a small balcony area out the back side. Room seemed to be clean and towels as well as soaps and lotions were restocked. I did notice that bathroom door was broken and would not close completely. The premise also has a fire pit and outdoor pool. Some trails into the forest in the back as well. Unfortunately we were there just overnight and got there at night so we couldn't take advantages of the amenities. Service was good overall and staffs were nice. Overall it's a nice lodge style hotel with good selection of amenities. As long as you don't mind the small room and bathroom it's a nice cozy stay.

My husband and I booked this trip for our anniversary and for the most part, enjoyed our stay…read more There were a few things that bothered us, especially for the price, which I will explain below. I also tried to leave this review on the link they emailed at check-out asking how the stay was, but the link was unfortunately broken and took me to "page not found." PROS: - The property is beautiful. An old 1950's motel that has been renovated with a modern neutral-tone aesthetic. The A-frame cabins are brand new. We opted for a suite in the main building because we wanted a fireplace in the bedroom. The ambiance was great. Bed was comfy, bathrobes are provided, as well as larger towels for the hot tub/sauna. - The breakfast spread is fantastic, and included in the stay. Different breads, spreads (jams, nut butters), hard boiled eggs, prosciutto, vanilla Greek yogurt with granola, fresh blueberries, and additional "toppings" like nuts, coconut, etc. Healthy and hearty. - The communal spaces are lovely - the main building/lobby, hot tubs, fire pits, etc. - Shower/bathroom products were Salt & Stone, which I use at home, so I was very happy :) - Staff was very helpful. We had a few issues in our room and maintenance and hotel clerk/bartender Riley were helpful. Riley also made us great cocktails one evening! CONS: - We booked the room we did because in addition to the fireplace, the diagram on the listing showed a private patio in the back of the property (not outside the main entrance, but a SECOND door to a patio with couches). This was NOT the case, and we were disappointed. We would have perhaps gone with the A-frame cabin if we realized this, because the cabins have a private outdoor space. We did want the fireplace, so we were happy with that, but we felt a bit duped/misled since the information on the website was clearly incorrect and misleading. We paid $900/night. I feel like the layout photos on the website should be removed or corrected. Attached photo. - The first two nights, we really couldn't get our fire started; the wood they provided was clearly too wet, as it just hissed and let off steam. There was no kindling provided in the box near the fireplace, which I assume was supposed to have kindling in it? The third night we went outside and grabbed different, older, logs from the pile and after an hour the fire FINALLY got going. While wet wood really isn't the hotel's fault, maybe some kindling would've helped? Or tarps on top of the wood piles? - Our door kept getting stuck and would not unlock; we had to call maintenance who told us that our room (#160) unfortunately does this sometimes, and we just have to keep trying until it opens. - The heat in the bathroom did not work. It was absolutely frigid especially when showering. We contacted maintenance who told us that the boiler was out, and they couldn't get anyone in there until Monday to look at it. To make up for it, they brought us a space heater to put in the bathroom (thank you!) I would consider staying here again but would maybe confirm over the phone about layouts of rooms before booking. They are under the Lark Hotels properties, which own many other places in Stowe. I might check out their other options as well before returning here. For a $2700 weekend, I would expect a stellar stay with no issues.

Booked the 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment, that has a full kitchen and fireplace with my husband and…read moredog 1 week before memorial day. I think we got lucky finding the apartment available because it appears to be fully booked for the foreseeable future. The parking is not immediately outside each room so you park temporarily to unload and then move your car to the actual parking area. It really wasn't bad, even in the rain, and it's a very short walk. We brought our dog so just know, you have to go through multiple doors to get outside. The walls were kind of thin so we, and our vocal dog, heard the neighbors next to us come and go, as well as the rooms under the apartment. I can't say I'd want to be in the rooms under the apartment because I'm sure us walking around was loud. The bar looked swanky and fun but we had our dog and they strictly state you cannot leave your dog alone in your room. The sauna was out of commission or maybe it was the hot tub, either way we had no plans to use either, although they looked luxurious outside in the elements. I grabbed coffee one morning as they were closing breakfast, and it was incredibly watery. I can only hope there was an error making that days. My husband and I had to dump it out. The breakfast spread looked incredible, and picked over, so I brought is each a tiny piece of quiche, which was super good. Really wish I had gone earlier to try the fresh baked bread with all the sweet and savory condiments for it. I'd consider staying again in one of the A frames. Oh and most importantly this place is adults only, no children!!
