Fabulous work, as good as Savile Row. The shop is somewhat hard to find but it's charming and Will is a superb tailor.

Mr. Field made me a suit that was excellent. I just ordered a second one from him. What higher recommendation can one give?

I cannot deny how excellent this place is. Amazing tailoring service!!! Thanks, Nikola for rushing…read moremy order and applying great alterations to my dress. I've been a loyal customer for years and learning that Stephen has retired was hard but I'm happy that he left the business in great hands. Can't wait to return

I bought my tuxedo for my wedding at a fancy-pants made to order website based out of NYC. They had my measurements, and all was set for the perfect tux. Well, when it finally arrived, it looked like someone had painted it on to my body. I could hardly breathe, let alone anticipate moving around or enjoying myself. Thankfully I came across Chris' website- "Stephen The Tailor". I quickly booked an appointment. Chris was kind, funny, and welcoming to me and my (now) wife. He put us both at ease, helping navigate all that needed to happen. Neither one of us imagined that the suit that was delivered would be salvaged. Chris, must have taken every stitch out of this three piece to reconstruct the perfect tuxedo for me. I still cannot identify what he retooled. Easily the mark of a true craftsman and expert tailor. The photos speak for themselves. It was the perfect outfit for the perfect day. The dry cleaning alone was flawless (my wife was wishing that's where she took her dress prior to our wedding)! Needless to say, I'm all in with this shop. They get the good dry cleaning, and Chris is hired to make all of my future suits! That's right, he's a bespoke suit maker, too. If only I had come to him first... he could have easily crafted this outfit- Jacket, shirt, vest... all of it. Save yourself the headache. Go see Chris. He's the only person I will be seeing moving forward! Thank you Chris!! You're a true hero to us both!!

With the price of the items at Alton Lane it is good to have healthy skepticism. Thoughts such as: "Am I really getting high quality?" "Is this too much money for clothes?" "Aren't there better cheaper alternatives" are typical consumer thoughts. However, Jacob and the staff at Alton Lane are not your typical boutique. While they serve whiskey, have posters of Uncle Sam and dark wood throughout boutique the usual pretentiousness or retail intimidation is absent. Every decision I made was my decision. The best part about the experience is the education that comes along with an appointment. You will understand why certain fabrics are more expensive, why it takes longer for shipping, why it is important to have your slope taken. You will be making an informed decision and not one based on sales goals

Their alterations are terrible & super off - I had to go back a couple of times because they did not stick to the original measurements. So yeah, you pay a lot of money for custom suit that doesn't even fit well. Their old stylist basically created the whole suit for me - I only picked the suit color. Turns out a few days before my wedding, I found out that their inside linings basically made my whole suit and pants see through! Yes, you can see the boxer and everything... When I asked online customer service to do alterations, they said no because it passed the 30 days warranty. So if you want to pay a lot of money for ill-fitted & see-through suits, do pay them a visit!

This guy is seriously the best tailor in town. 10 stars!…read more By way of background, I'm a hardcore fitness/nutrition fanatic (ie, someone with lots of muscle mass and low single digit bodyfat) and so I always have to get my dress clothes radically tailored in order for them to fit properly. A few weeks ago, I brought Mr. Kim a bunch of off-the-rack suits and pants that I had previously had altered elsewhere but still did not fit me at all. (FYI, avoid Nordstrom Rack and Stephan the Tailor for alterations at all costs; two thumbs down.) Long story short, Mr. Kim was able to do some major alternations and now everything fits like a glove. I will definitely have him do all of my tailoring in the future as well.

I recently had an exceedingly disappointing experience with this tailor. Upon discovering the…read morestitching on the arm sleeve of my suit jacket coming undone, which caused a noticeable crease, I brought it in for repair. Additionally, the stitching at the cuff where the buttons are was also unraveling. Given the stellar reviews, I believed I was entrusting my jacket to a professional of high repute, rather than a standard dry cleaner tailor. When I visited his shop to highlight the issues, the owner/tailor mentioned that the jacket was asymmetrical around the torso, which was evident upon inspection. He quoted $200 for the repairs, which I considered steep but somewhat justifiable for his supposed "expertise." However, upon returning to collect my jacket a week later, I was met with immediate disappointment. The crease in the arm sleeve remained, and the cuff was still undone. When I pointed this out, he defensively claimed that he had only worked on the torso's symmetry, as indicated on the receipt. He demanded an additional $100 to fix the sleeve, despite initially agreeing to address all the issues. His broken English and evasive explanations made the situation even more frustrating. It became clear to me that this tailor intended to exploit the situation, attempting to extract as much money from me as possible. Despite my attempts to have him honor our original agreement, he insisted on additional charges. Frustrated and feeling deceived, I paid the $200 but left deeply unsatisfied. This tailor is not a man of his word. His underhanded tactics and lack of integrity are appalling. I strongly urge you to seek your alteration needs elsewhere and avoid falling victim to his deceitful practices. I will attach a copy of my receipt to corroborate my account, clearly showing that he circled "Armhole: Enlarge," which means he did work on the armhole but now claims it would need to be redone and repositioned to remove the crease. Additionally, and once more, there was an absolutely egregious crease in the sleeve for him to ignore and up-charge me.

July 9, 2026 I hate leaving bad reviews so much that I…read moreactually go back and delete them at later dates to not jeopardize anyone's livelihood or reputation, but this one will, hopefully, be immortalized. The first thing you need to know is that this establishment does not have a standardized list of services or prices anywhere online or in their shop. I first went to them on June 22 to have five dresses dry cleaned (quoted $79.45), one blazer dry cleaned and shortened (quoted $52.95), and one dress' zipper repaired as well as have it dry cleaned (quoted $52.99 or $29.99 depending on if the existing zipper was salvageable or needed to be replaced). The prices seemed a bit steep to me, so I told the woman at the desk, Eden, that I would shop around for a cleaner and maybe return. I decided that paying for convenience was worth it and returned on July 8 due to Barr's close proximity to my workplace. This time, I dropped off two dresses for dry cleaning/stain removal (paid $29.98), one dress to just have the zipper repaired (paid $28), and two blazers to just have shortened (paid $50 each). When I got to work, I realized that I was paying almost the exact same amount to simply have a blazer altered that I was quoted for an alteration AND dry cleaning a couple of weeks ago. I called to inquire about this and was given the runaround. A man who I suppose is the manager initially said that he did not know why the pricing was what it was then told me that it was perhaps due to some promotion going on. I asked how much the promotion was to result in the pricing nearly being equivalent, and he said 10% which still doesn't make sense. I told him so, then, presumably due to being tired of speaking with me, he told me that I could come pick up my items and receive a refund which worked perfectly fine with me. While picking up my items, Eden told me that the refund had to be processed through an accountant and that the man I spoke to before was not in at the moment to discuss things further. After getting in contact with him, he told me that the refund had been initiated and to text them my email address to receive proof of this via email. As of the afternoon of July 9, I have still not received an actual refund, confirmation of a refund, or any specific timeline for the processing of my refund. I called Barr this morning after they ignored my texts and got an AI assistant for the first time since trying to resolve this matter, so it seems I'll just be disputing these charges with my bank. These business practices are egregious, and I can only imagine how many others have been charged on a whim but did not realize and thus could not rectify matters. I cannot recommend Barr Cleaners any less. UPDATE (July 10, 2026): Barr Cleaners said they issued a refund this morning and requested my email to send me a refund receipt. I will update this review a final time when I receive the receipt. UPDATE (July 10, 2026): I received confirmation of a refund via email this afternoon. I'm glad to have this matter finally resolved, but my original rating still stands.

Not only were the stains still there, there was two more stains and they STAPLED their papers to the hood of the vest leaving holes in the hood. I left a review, received a call that I would receive a refund and they would pay for the $300 vest. Of course neither happened so here I am.
