I purchased a home water purification system two years ago--it was quite expensive at $10k, which was significantly overpriced--and I was told it came with a full lifetime warranty. The maintenance system stopped working, so I called technical support, and they told me I have to pay $175 for the service visit. DON'T BUY IT FROM THIS COMPANY read more

My complaint through the BBB: I have been attempting to contact Fidelis since February to schedule the required annual maintenance for my water softener system, which is still under warranty. Despite multiple phone calls and voicemails left over the past several months, I have not received a single return call. On one occasion, I was able to speak with a receptionist and specifically requested a callback to arrange service; however, no one ever followed up. I have made consistent, good-faith efforts to fulfill my responsibility as a customer to maintain the system within the warranty requirements. At this point, I am very concerned that the lack of response from the company could result in my warranty being jeopardized or voided through no fault of my own. This situation is unacceptable, and I am requesting immediate assistance in scheduling my maintenance, as well as confirmation that my warranty will not be impacted due to the company's failure to respond. read more

What a scummy sales tactic. Even if they do offer excellent products (which I highly doubt), the misleading post card that is sent to your address advising you to call in order to retrieve a non-existent parcel is an immediate turn off for any potential customer. This isn't a parcel waiting for you. It's their sleazy attempt to fast talk you in order to get you to agree to an in-person appointment. The owner (who seems to be really active on yelp) needs to re-think his entire strategy. It's not working, it's misleading, and frankly just pisses people off and makes them never want to give your company a chance to begin with. Who thought this was a good idea? Don't let these people into your home. I declined a "water test" which I am now reading is just a scheme to get into your home for a sales pitch. read more

Scam artists, and I fell for it, don't pay this much for a system. The system is not nearly worth $9K. I have had it for 3 months, although it does soften the water it was sold as a refiner, which it's not, it's purely a softener. The deal with soaps from Pure & Gentle is a total sham, it's a lifetime supply but only if they feel it's correct, though the team have sent me more soaps it still doesn't warrant the price tag. Unfortunately, nothing much I can do it seems as I had signed the agreement. The way this was also introduced through my mailbox saying an urgent parcel is ready for collection. read more

I did not appreciate getting a card in the mail that states, "parcel on hold," as a new home owner I have so much to do and when I received this I right away though UPS or USPS got my new address mixed or something. I moved into my new house and kept getting notices about a package that needed to be delivered. Just to find out that it's not a package. It's about someone coming out to do a water quality test. Which I was fine with. The guy that came out was really nice but it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know which he also mentioned as well, but he couldn't talk about anything more then the levels of the water because my partner was not their as well. I was also told while making this appointment that you get a gift card. Cool!! Not cool because they would have to hand deliver it and refused to do it unless both of us are home. My partner works in HVAC he can get home at 9pm but if a call comes in he has to leave so I could guarantee that he would be home. Per their "company policy" both home owners have to be home. So I won't be talking to them again. read more

READ PLEASE: This company sends out misleading notices that make it seem like you have a parcel to claim--only to lure you into scheduling a water test. Once they're in your home, they use their own test kit, which (unsurprisingly) shows your water as "contaminated" regardless of its actual quality. It's all a setup to pressure you into buying an expensive water filtration system. This isn't about health or safety--it's a sales tactic. Check your water independently through your city or a certified lab. What they're doing feels unethical and borderline fraudulent. Honestly, it should be illegal. Do your research and don't fall for it. read more

The water system we bought was good, it had a lot of perks. But being new buyers it was very very very over priced now that we look back we should have gone a different route. Company is grossly overpricing their services and products. Avoid at all costs. Horrible customer service department.

In an age of misinformation, I have zero tolerance for even the slightest hint of deception. I received a mailer indicating that I have a parcel on hold. When I called the number I was greeted by a Fidelis Elite representative who then told me I had a gift card of my choice and proceeded to try to schedule for Fidelis to evaluate my water. This company employs deceptive adverts as a scheme to funnel you into their marketing flow. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has federal regulations against fraudulent or deceptive advertising. I'm obviously going to explore options here and would encourage others to do the same. This company's management is disgusting for this. read more

This review is really for Alwi Ali. I can't say enough good things about this gentleman. So, I didn't receive any kind of postcard like other reviewers did, but I actually first stumbled upon this company from 209Times' Instagram stories where they feature some local businesses. We were in need of a water softener already, so there was really no "sales pitch" I was looking to get. It really came down to deciding WHERE I was going to purchase one from. What really sold me on this company was Alwi Ali. He is very involved on his social media, and for me, it's a big plus to be able to see what I'm actually buying, how it works, what other's look like installed, his tips & tricks, his suggestions, his preferences with his own system, etc. I went ahead and reached out to him on Instagram and he came to our house and did our water test. We had been using tap water through a Brita pitcher to drink and just didn't like the taste. But what our biggest problem was is that I am severely allergic to chlorine, I have been my whole life; have never been able to swim in pools or walk into indoor pools. Before getting our system, I was actually having allergic reactions every single time I showered, ran through the sprinklers with my son, splashed the water table toy water on me, etc. It was as miserable as it sounds. And I suspected it was probably the chlorine in the water in this town, as I never had this issue when I lived in Tracy. After he did our water test, I was shocked at how much chlorine is in the water here in Stockton! WOW. No wonder. Aside from knowing we definitely wanted one, I just could not believe what a kind man Alwi was. And I know what you're thinking, he's trying to sell me something, so of course he's nice. And yeah, maybe a little, but even after purchasing this unit years ago, I still reach out to Alwi anytime I have a question. If I have any concern, he is on a mission to help me out, he has even personally stopped by when I had a question to help me himself. This is the kind of person a business dreams of having as an employee. He's a great salesman, I'm sure, but he's an even better human being. All that to say, I have not had a single allergic reaction to any of our softened water! The installer even set up an outside spigot that we could use to fill our kid's water table or little family pool with the softened water. And then he put a separate outside spigot for watering the plants with regular city water. I can't say enough good things. Everything has been great for our family. Thank you Alwi Ali!!! read more

I have the original mail notice in my hand, which now (weeks later) looks obviously like an advertisement. It's so ridiculous. But it's also really great; in my other hand is our purchase receipt for Fidelis. The timing and our experience couldn't have been more ideal. This was the second morning waking up in our new house. We spent a full weekend of loading/unloading and unboxing all our belongings. You can imagine the fatigue and mental haze. We also had a legit concern about missing delivered packages; a gift basket arrived at our old address 10 minutes before I locked up for the last time. Had I left sooner, someone would have taken the basket for themselves. That's why the mail notice stood out from the stack. I was so exhausted (and oddly curious, because who says "parcel" anymore?) that I called the number and spoke with someone. New local resident? Free home water test? $25 gift card? Cool. It sounded reasonable (don't mind that I completely forgot about the whole "parcel" thing). Available at 11am today? Sure, we're home. Alwi Ali arrived on time (wearing PPE). This guy is great: personal, pleasant, professional. He set up in the kitchen and let my curious kid help out (it's a simple chemistry test). It finally registered that this was a "sales presentation" by the time Alwi started showing the water results. I was horrified. My wife came into the kitchen to see what was going on. She agreed; our water quality was terrible. There was never any "sales pitch". We were never "sold" on anything. A water softener was something my wife and I had discussed long ago. Like, ".. when we buy our own home ... and we'll have a tankless water heater, and a water softener, and a .."; you get the idea. It made sense why my skin was SO DRY after the first shower in our house; the water was as chlorinated as a public pool (gross). We turned the conversation towards questions of "what is the process?" and "what else do we need to know?" Alwi answered everything. We soon found out that he and my wife know many of the same people in professional circles. That's the point where any sales-y pretense would typically be dropped for the social gossip and story sharing. But Alwi never had any sales-y demeanor to begin with. (My wife and I have considerable experience dealing with sales people, so trust that we pay close attention). We set the installation for the same week. The contractors that came out to do the work were also very professional. (We've added them to our list of local contractors for our future home repairs/projects). If there was any mess, I couldn't tell. The contractors had moved everything back where it belonged and cleaned everything up. Alwi returned the following week to go over all the extras (free soap/cleaner concentrates, cooking pans, etc.) and to check the installation. From start to finish, working with Fidelis has been a great experience. And this is 100% thanks to Alwi and the contractors, as they were the ones to represent the company. Sure, it was a lot of money for us to commit at once. But, the total we paid was appropriate and in line with what we expected. We wouldn't have followed through if we felt it overpriced. We had (still have) a lot of projects we want to do to our home. We would never have thought to address the water quality at that time if it weren't for Fidelis' lucky parcel notice. Sure, we would have liked to have spent initial project money on upgrading kitchen counters and/or the floors, etc. But, those things are perfectly functional. But to go months on end with dry skin from showers, laundry wearing out faster due to chlorine, and not-so-safe water from the tap? No way. That's not how we prioritize. Looking only at Fidelis' overall Yelp rating, it's easy to understand how one might feel uncertain; people prefer 4 stars and up, right? But when you remove the ten or twelve 1-star reviews that are pretty much based on the "sales tactic" of the mail notices and little else, you can see a truer rating (practically 5 stars). Plus, Fidelis actually takes the time to address feedback (they've also updated the mailer/notice in our area); too many companies don't care enough to do even that. It's one thing to rate low due to rude, unprofessional, harassing, pushy, time-wasting, or outright shady sales people. But don't go trash a business that successfully got your attention where others have failed. Think about all the junk mail we mindlessly toss out. Spam we delete. TV/radio commercials we ignore. YouTube ads we skip. Doors we shut on solicitors. Many represent quality products/services (ok maybe not spam) from people trying to earn legit business. Do these deserve unfair 1-star ratings too? Should we be judging books (companies) based on the cover (advertisement) instead of quality of content (service/product)? If so, then I know another ten or twelve shameful individuals who deserve 5 stars for being captious, unreasonable, and willfully ignorant. read more

Watch this company very carefully. The "Sales" and especially the "Finance Tactics" are very tricky to consumers. The total cost of the system I had installed a year ago was $9640.00. I haven't had any problems, and I hope that I do not, in part because I am having a Licensed and reputable plumber check the system once or twice a year. What this company is doing is "selling their loans" to "high finance" management companies, which charge varible rates at 12.99% percent and above. This would indicate that in a year with monthly payments at or around $120.00, most of each months payments are going to interest. LISTEN AND OBSERVE carefully how Fidelis Representatives explain "financing" to you "BEFORE" you make a purchase which you can not pay outright for the total cost. Additionally, I had to pay an "indepedndent plumber" which Fidelis sent out to install the system as well as an under the sink filtration system. The " Under the Sink" Water Filtration System requires another $300.00 a year to come out and change the filters. BUYER BEWARE! read more

I have had my system for two years and it still doesn't work. It was serviced twice but it continues to be defective and the company has ignored all my attempts to contact them. read more

I've purchased the system in 2019. The total for the water softening system and under-sink osmosis filter system came out to about $7k. It included "10 years worth of soap" (hand soap, body wash, shampoo, laundry detergent, dish soap, etc.). However, my paperwork only included 5 order sheets, not 10. The APY was 11% with excellent credit so I decided to pay it off instead. I agree with others that their marketing was scammy, indicating I had a parcel on hold. Although I was happy with the installation and the product itself, I believe it was severely overpriced and their marketing tactics are predatory. I regret buying the system from them and should have gone with a more reputable company like Costco. They call every year to sell replacement filter cartridges at $150 each time. A brand new system runs about $250-300 so I will be switching it and paying $50 for cartridges instead. read more

Like many reviews below, I had the fishy scammy type postcard sent to me as well saying that a parcel was waiting for me. I called and of course they set up the water testing appointment which I agreed to. When the gentleman came out, he was very nice. But when it came time to crunch numbers, and I told him that I had to do my research and verify information and check reviews on Google, etc. He changed his tone, packed his bags, and left very fast. He was disappointed that I would not sign a contract for $8k right then. I have not heard from him or the company with a follow-up call and it has been a week. Obviously, I caught onto to some scam like game. BEWARE!!! read more

I would definitely recommend Fidelis. The guy who came to do the testing initially (David) was very professional and explained the process to us very well. We asked a lot of questions and he was very patient with us. The lady who came to do the follow up testing (Jessica) was also extremely professional. She made sure that the work was completed to our satisfaction and she was always following up prior to the appointment to ensure everything was working fine. She is great at customer service. She is an asset to Fidelis. Lastly, I can't forget the technician (Byron) who installed the entire system. He is very good at his job. He is very passionate about what he does. Byron is a great human being. We got a white glove service from Fidelis and definitely a 5 star experience. Generally I am confident this was a good investment since the water in Tracy is very hard and we have noticed a huge difference ever since Fidelis installed their systems. Thanks you Fidelis. I believe they offer a lifetime warranty which is huge. I would definitely recommend. read more

Received a "parcel" card to my house then received countless calls from different numbers since I blocked each number when they called. They would then call on another numbers to get through. These people have a sketchy way of getting customers + they're on here replying to every single complaint about their sketchy practices and defending the sketchiness. (And saying we hope you can look past it and try us anyway.) Ridiculous! As others have said, they mail you a thing pretending to be the "Final Notice" from a parcel tracking service. I told the guy on the phone "actually, this is the *first* notice" and called him out on the sketchy tactics, and he insisted that no, it was the third notice because they had attempted to hand-deliver the parcel twice by walking to my house with it (rather than using the mail?...) and ringing my doorbell. Which is silly and not even true. I work from home due to Covid, and someone has been at home at all times since we recently moved here. There were no failed attempts to deliver a package. When you call the number, they say "Parcel Service" (a nameless parcel service, I guess? LOL). It's the number for Fidelis Elite, so why are they pretending to be a parcel service? Especially if they're also saying that they don't use a parcel service and instead walk to our houses themselves to hand-deliver the parcels! (Of course they *don't* actually do that, but let's pretend for a second that he wasn't a liar.) I actually did want to check my water. I'd heard that some parts of Turlock had had water issues a few years ago. I was even considering installing a filtration system, if necessary. Well, now I know which company *not* to use :) The sad/funny thing is that even the customers here giving GOOD reviews all mention the dishonest parcel thing. Does the company enjoy being (in)famous for this? Maybe their services are fine, but they clearly don't see THEMSELVES as a good company if they've concluded that the only way they can get customers is through trickery. If it starts out dishonestly, it's hard to believe that it won't end dishonestly. Edit: Fellow reviewers who complained about the fake parcel notice, here is where you file a complaint with the BBB https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/lake-elsinore/profile/water-purification-equipment/fidelis-elite-systems-1066-100120637 Select the option "I want to report an advertisement that seems misleading and confusing." From there, they don't really have an option for "fake parcel notices" but you can pick "Flyer or Doorhanger" or whatever, and then explain the situation later in the complaint form. Don't forget to include a photo of the fake parcel tracking notice :) Edit 2: They've sent me a second scammy mailing. This time it's the one that pretends to be an Amazon coupon. Their company name appears in super tiny print in one place, but the piece of mail is definitely pretending to be from Amazon. I've reported this second scammy mailing to the BBB too. To Fidelis, who simply cannot resist replying snarkily to every single (well-deserved) bad review - yes, I deleted that part for length. You defend your sketchy practices on the other negative reviews here and on the BBB website, but thank you for sparing me :) read more

This company may be legit when it comes to testing your water, but their business ethic is shameful. I received this post card (pictured below) stating that I had a parcel waiting for me and that this was the final notice. They use this tactic to have you call them so that they can set up a sales call. But even over the phone, they don't tell you who they are or why they sent the postcard because there isn't a parcel waiting for you. They offered me a Amazon gift card (which I did not receive) and they have the audacity to demand in their policy that my wife be there with me for the presentation. Of course it doesnt come actoss in a letter, but it was definitely there when he said it. Companies like this will blame any problems you have with their water system on the city or water district water system. If you look at reviews "Dan S" the "business owner" replies with the same customer praise response emails" he puts it on reviews 4 years ago & 1 yr ago. Super deceptive. Don't use them. Use a different company. On another note, piggybacking on repect people have for the Marines & other military agencies isn't a great way to gain respect from customers. Misleading new home owners spam mail! Stating final notice on hold - call immediately.

We just moved into our new home and I got a postcard in the mail saying that a parcel was being held. Since we had just moved, it didn't seem out of place. When I called the number on the card, a woman answered and said that a gift from the community was being offered to welcome us to the neighborhood, which included a free water test, and either a 25 dollar gift card to Amazon/Olive Garden/Chevy's. It sounded like a nice welcome from the city since we had just set up our water service a couple of days before. Turns out, this appointment was a misleading sales tactic to get a Fidelis Elite Systems salesman into my home to attempt to sell us their extremely overpriced water filtration system. The sales guy was nice and seemed knowledgable, but we started off under false pretenses which broke the trust immediately. Even though my husband and I are looking to buy a filtration system, Fidelis Elite Systems will never be an option for us due to their dishonest sales tactics. read more

Byron did a fantastic job with the install including a tedious job connecting to my refrigerator water line; not an easy job with no crawl space!
