I like to come to this cozy and friendly pub for the Irish Breakfast, which since they open at 9 on weekends can be had at a decent breakfast hour, and which is something I haven't found elsewhere stateside. Don't tell the Irish, but an Irish breakfast is pretty much like an English breakfast, which I have all the time in England and miss terribly when I'm not there. It's a full potpourri of two eggs (cooked to your specification, and definitely fresh), banger-style sausages, plus bacon (the meaty kind usual in Britain), fried tomato, black pudding (a sausagy-like thing not as disgusting as it sounds), a tiny cup of baked beans, and nice crispy fries. Doesn't have quite the full luster of what I'm used to in Britain, but it is ever good enough to be reminiscent. I've also had a burger for lunch, and the salmon dinner, the former quite good, the latter at least OK. And they have cider! Both the typical English Strongbow and an Irish brand called Magner's. Extra special credit: they have a back room which is reservable for groups. I did that for an afternoon meeting (1-5 pm). It worked splendidly. The service was ideally attentive and everybody loved their lunch. The room, which doesn't look like much when it's empty and dark, was agreeably festive with the lights on and the table set. There was a little ambient noise, and staff had to pass through to get to the back door, but it wasn't too distracting from our meeting. read more

This traditional Irish pub has quickly become my go-to for a hearty meal and a Guinness. I've been here 3 weeks in a row and have not been disappointed. Outside of one of my kids having a total meltdown during our meal, our experience at Fiddler's Green was great. They have a bunch of outdoor seating and it was a nice sunny day so we took advantage of sitting on the patio. The server brought out menus as well as kids' menus with crayons. I decided to get the bangers and mash and ordered a kids' fish and chips as well as a kids' shepherd's pie. All the food was delicious and we ended up eating most of it onsite, although we had to pack up some of the shepherd's pie to go. It made for a fantastic leftover dinner heated up later that night. read more

This is a nice little pub. It has a big menu with many options. I wasn't too hungry and I appreciated that they had smaller portions of their main courses. I ordered the smaller portion of the bangers and mash. It was the perfect amount of food for me. I found the sauce a little sweet, the mash and sausages very tasty, and the beans tasted like they came out of a can. Before bringing over the entrees, the server brought over some bread. It wasn't bad, but it was very sweet, not really standard dinner time bread. The service was good. For the portion sizes and quality, it's a little expensive. While in the area on vacation, I wound up in the hotel across the street, and with the very high prices of ubers in the area, opted to walk across the street for dinner. Fiddler's Green -- which is a great name, by the way -- is a beautiful little hole in the wall type pub. It was not too crowded, and we were seated right away. I felt like our service was more than a little slow. I ordered a pepsi, and it arrived ... off. I couldn't tell if it was just not mixed right, or they screwed up and gave me a diet, or what -- it just wasn't right, y'know? I set it aside and never drank but a sip. The menu is pretty small and sparse, but it's a pub, so what do you expect? I went with the most basic, traditional meal you can get: corned beef and cabbage. It was just kind of okay. The entire thing was all too bland, and desperately needed mustard to approach edible. The cabbage was a bit underdone, though I suppose some people like it that way. The meat, though, was just flavourless. Blah. Overall, I thought the place was also pretty expensive, but perhaps that just the high rent area. All in all, it wasn't terrible, it wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't good. read more

We have heard about Fiddler's Green and so we decided to try it because it was also Sinatra night. We had dinner reservations for 5:30 pm. It was not busy yet and the service was very good and very accommodating. We asked for front table and when we saw the music venue being set up it was too close with the big speakers right behind us. We moved to the farthest table and so glad we did! Food was good, we ordered appetizers (was so hungry forgot to take pictures) ordered fried calamari and another variety appetizer. Sinatra show was good. He sang many of Sinatra's hits. Perry had a nice voice and it was very entertaining (maybe a little too loud to have a conversation at the dinner table). I believe he performs at Fiddler's once a month. Hopefully we will try the Fish & Chips next time. The other entrees were very good. We sat right by the kitchen window and all the cooked dishes that were ready to be served looked delicious. Don't think you can go wrong. read more

We came here around 6 on a Thursday night. It was crazy packed inside and outside. The ladies were running around bringing food and drinks to people. We got lucky since there was only 2 of us and we were able to grab the only table available. Karen was our server and she was very sweet. We ordered bangers and mash and shepherds pie. It also came with delicious bread. The bangers were very tasty, and had a nice snap. The grilled onions were sweet and went perfectly with the bangers and mash. And the beans were nice too. Everything was so flavorful and paired beautifully together. The shepherds pie was amazing. The meat was so tender and melted in my mouth. I don't like peas, and usually pick them out of whatever I'm eating, but wow even the peas were great in here. My mom and I were eating off of each others plates. The atmosphere was cool and everyone was so sweet. We also learned that they recently opened Molly O's in San Carlos! Which is only a 3 minute drive from me! I am excited to see them grow. An irie Irish bar that pours forth fresh and frothy Guiness pints, savoury stews and a prodigious platter of breakfast items. on my first visit, I ordered and enjoyed the ambrosial Irish Stew laden with traditional root veggies (celery, carrots & potato chunks), onion and a mini globe of mashed potatoes in the center which paired well with several glasses of Guiness goodness. I don't remember if soda bread accompanied the meal but it didn't matter because it was satisfying enough. on my most recent visit, I treated myself to the Irish Breakfast (available all day) and gorged on several slices of Irish bacon & grilled tomatoes, a few pieces of mini muffin shaped black n white pudding, a duo of sunny side up eggs, baked beans and a pile of well seasoned home fries. was all tasty and my belly has been thanking me since the weekend. plenty of outdoor seating with heat lamps and a good sized dining area and bar that has several tvs. the service is friendly and prompt but parking can be somewhat challenging at times, especially on weekends. read more

We went to Fiddler's Green this past Saturday evening and the place was hopping! We had the fish and chips and it's the best that we've had in the area! I got the 3 piece order and all the pieces of fish were a good size, crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Fries were just as great...crispy on the outside and the right texture on the inside, not to mention having a good potato taste. I'm always so impressed by the great quality and presentation of the food as well. It's authentic, delicious and great quality. Not your average pub food at all! The food was really quite delicious. We were a party of six and all enjoyed our dishes. There were two ladies taking care of tables when we entered. The taller , short haired lady was quite pleasant and brought us water. My water glass had a medium length black hair stuck to it. I didn't say a word, it was outside the drink ware not in it, thankfully. The shorter blonde waitress ended bringing the one waiting our table. Her customer service skills were non existent . She was abrupt and pretty rude. She seemed put out by us the minute we entered the pub. Also check your receipt when paying . We were a party of six and she had already added a 20 percent tip to the bill. Yet the bill showed a place to add a tip and it had the tip suggested amounts on it. I googled the regions tipping laws to see if this practice was common or even law. No it is not . If I had not read it she woukd have received a 40 percent tip. Yes, even with poor service I tip at least 20 percent because they tip out to the people in the back that still need money and did nothing wrong. We will never return , as we work too hard for our money to be treated so poorly . read more

She's the BEST. She took our orders without writing anything down and made no mistakes. A few of us shared plates and they cut the plates in half without us even asking. She's friendly and attentive. Fiddler's Green is an atmospheric Irish pub in Millbrae with a simple menu of pub grub and "traditional fare." The Traditional Irish Stew was made with generous chunks of beef in a hearty Guinness gravy, along with well-cooked celery and carrots, all topped with a scoop of mashed potatoes; and the Shepherds Pie was a baked casserole with a flavorful stew of ground beef, onions, carrots, and peas, topped with a mashed potato crust with melted cheddar cheese on top. The Corned Beef and Cabbage was the most simple combination of sliced corned beef and boiled cabbage served with mustard and horseradish; and the Spicy Irish sandwich came with corned beef, melted pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo on a French roll. All of the food here was simple and somewhat bland, and nothing in particular stood out, but my favorite part of the meal was the basket of bread that came on the side, which featured whole grain oats and a crumbly texture. Long ago, I used to come here and gather with friends to eat and watch the SF Giants play. So it has been a long time since I've been here until recently. I had dinner here in their covered outdoor patio. I like how they have built out a comfortable and sheltered area to comfortably dine outside as we're all still dealing with this pandemic. I ordered the B.O.L.T sandwich(Irish bacon, red onion, lettuce, tomato and mayo on sourdough) and I shared a side of their garlic fries which I remembered from before that they were really good. First, my sandwich was flavorful and delicious and the garlic fries look like they were double fried so they were really crunchy and almost chewy. The fresh garlic was strong enough for me. Our waitress was friendly and speedy. As we were leaving our early dinner here on a Friday night, several more groups had been seated and most of their tables were occupied by 6pm. It makes me happy to support local businesses and to see them with a large crowd was the cherry on top for me on this night. read more

During the past 4 years or so I had occasionally walked right past Fiddler's Green when roaming the downtown Millbrae area. A few weeks ago, I decided to give them a shot on a warm Friday evening. They constructed a nice covered outdoor dining area right by their front entrance. We were there a bit early so we were able to snag a table right away. I went with the Corned Beef & Cabbage and decided to share a side of their Garlic Fries. I decided to wash it all down with a Stella(which was on tap). The Corned Beef dish was tasty, fresh, and I liked how well the steamed cabbage and potatoes went with the Corned Beef. I proceeded to devour the entire plate. The Garlic Fries were double fried so they were extra crunchy. I would again order everything I listed without hesitation. Our waitress was friendly and service went off without a hitch. As we were were wrapping our dinner, a few waves of patrons were streaming in, so I'm happy to see this local business getting the support it deserves. I'm looking forward to returning soon to try more of their menu out. read more

One of the weirdest potato skins I've ever had. They cut their potatoes in small slices then fry them too lightly then they toss the tomatoes, cheese, bacon, etc on it Loved the toppings, hated the small potato things that aren't like any potato skins I've had before. They aren't fried through enough and are super greasy and also a little underdone. The crab sandwich was very mayo based and filled with fillers and honestly tasted like they mixed it or used a lot of imitation crab in it.
