Steak burger

I ended up here while killing time at the airport after a few grueling days with a client, the kind of days that make you question all your life choices. I needed food, a drink, and preferably both quickly. This spot looked open, inviting, and then I noticed the wall of bourbon. At that point, the decision was made. Somewhere on that wall, I was convinced, was a bourbon with my name on it. I'll be honest though, the experience didn't start off great. It took quite a while for the bartender to acknowledge me, and even after she finally came over to take my drink and food order, it felt like I was suddenly invisible again. She seemed to give noticeably more attention to the male guests sitting around me. I'm not usually one to get worked up over things like this, but even the person sitting next to me picked up on the weird vibe. It was... noticeable. That said, let's talk about the food. The burger was solid, thick, juicy, well-seasoned, and exactly what I needed at that moment. The fries were also great: hot, crispy, and gone way too fast. And of course, the real star of the show was the bourbon. Excellent selection, and it absolutely did its job. Overall, if you're looking for a quick bite and a good drink while waiting for a flight, this place will get the job done. The food and bourbon won't disappoint, just hoping your service experience is better than mine.

Came in with low expectations for an airport restaurant and left impressed. The space is an open-air pub with plenty of outlets at every seat, huge plus. My server, Maila, was fantastic. Even as the place got busy, she juggled clearing tables, greeting guests, and helping other servers without ever neglecting me. Always attentive and upbeat. Ordered the Korean BBQ salmon burger and it was surprisingly good. Perfectly cooked salmon, fresh ingredients, and tons of flavor. Overall, a great airport dining surprise.

Last month we were heading out of town for Thanksgiving. We arrived at 645pm to the pub and was quick to be seated (no one ahead of us). However, it took about 10 mins before we were acknowledged that the server will be right with us. Immediately right after that was said, Yousoof came. He immediately inquired about our flight and took our order as we were ready. We ordered the following: 1. Pub Nachos: It's huge! Chips are not stale and has a nice crisp to it. The flavor of the meat chili is good and very flavorful. The cojita cheese topping to the nachos is actually good as I'm very hesitant about cheese being on food. This is the first nacho that I've had that is loaded with toppings and not enough chips. The only thing was the chips on the bottom were so soggy. 2. Two orders of Bourbon Burgers, medium rare and one w/o mushrooms (for my 12yo and 10yo): The burger was cooked as requested and the cheese pull w/ each bite was awesome. And the bacon and fries was very crispy as we like it. My boys enjoyed the burger all through. 3. Hazy IPA 4. Stella (bottle). A glass was provided to pour the beer, but it wasn't cold/chilled. Drinking from the cold bottle is the better option. Yousoof brought us water and small plates in case we wanted to share the food. I noticed the tables to be quickly cleaned as customers left. Yousoof checked in during our meal a few times and refilled our water as needed. However, when we were ready to get our bill there was no one in sight for us to ask. Given the wall that separates the 2 sides of the pub, it was hard to see where Yousoof was but whenever he came he was very nice and polite and we were able to paid and get to our flight.

Objectively 3 stars, but more like a 4 on the airport scale given the lack of competition... My Korean Barbecue Salmon Sandwich (verlasso salmon fillet, kimchi, cucumber, cilantro, pickled jalapeño, ginger aioli) was flavorful and generously portioned but oversauced to the point of falling apart halfway through eating, necessitating a knife and fork to finish. The accompanying fries, while also plentiful, were similarly rather soggy. This open-air pub offers a pleasant respite from the general terminal area, but some of the tables and chairs are a bit too close together for maximum comfort. Service on my visit was a mixed bag as well - while friendly, the server seemed like he was covering too many tables at once, forcing me to flag him down several times. Thankfully, I had plenty of time to kill before my flight!

Called the pub float but it's a real root beer float.

I came in here for a beer at 3 PM for my 4-hour sit around before my flight. I saw this on the menu and had to have it. It's the best root beer float I've ever had.

Smoked Salmon toast

Snagged a bar seat at Bourbon Pub at SFO while waiting for my flight and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the smoked salmon toast and a glass of bubbly and it was one of the better airport breakfasts I've had. The toast was topped with smoked salmon, chive cream cheese, toasted capers and red onion. I'm not typically a fan of airport food, but Michael Mina delivers here. Solid spot if you've got time to kill and want something actually good before takeoff.

Of course when you get to the airport you have to have your obligatory beverage! This place was conveniently located next to our gate. The menu looked pretty good but we werent there for the food. Of course you have the over priced beer and beverages. I believe my beer was $15 for a pint and that was pretty much the same thing with the cocktails. There was a lot of room at the bar and they had a few tables around the bar. The server was super nice and made a nice cocktail. We ordered a side a fries and they were super tasty and perfectly crisp. We asked for the spicy kind with the chipotle mayo dip.

Chicken & Waffles:
Adam B.

All airport food is a tad pricey, so you might as well pick a place that has proper table service. If you have the time, it's a much more civilized experience than getting a to-go bag elsewhere and scrambling to find a place to eat. Plus the food is actually pretty good for airport food! Chicken & Waffles: Exactly what I was craving before a long cross-country flight. The waffles are a lot heartier than normal waffles, since they're made with cornmeal. Though they still manage to be crispy. The chicken is boneless, for easier eating. But it's not like some cheap tenders, it's thick chicken with a nice crispy batter. I made the mistake of putting all the syrup on the waffle at once, which meant it was all absorbed halfway through and wasn't crispy any more. Probably better to dip as you go.

Waiting for my flight back home
Nohely M.

Bourbon Pub SFO is located inside the airport amongst other surrounding restaurants. I stopped by here on a Saturday morning before my flight back home. I waited for the host to seat me, and then shortly my server came by to assist me. I decided to order the yogurt parfait that included chia seeds, honey, granola, pomegranate, mint leaves and apple slices on top. I really enjoyed the granola sweet bits mixed in with the chia yogurt and the honey made it sweet overall. 5/5 I did not feel heavy afterwards and consider it a very light breakfast to have. For my drink, I ordered the "OLD FASHIONED" ritten house rye, sugar, bitters perfectly made can taste the bitterness but not overwhelming. 5/5 Overall a pleasant quick stop to grab a bite before departure to your next destination. Staff was delightful. I will come back here the next time I am landing or getting ready to depart from SFO.

Quite possibly the best airport dining experience I have ever had! It was a rainy, chilly and overcast day and quite sad since we were leaving SF but this burger made me feel wayyyyy better. Plus the ridiculous mango cart beer that wasn't too sweet and the lovely ladies behind the bar and the lunar new year dragons roaming the terminal behind - all made me feel warm & fuzzy inside. Burger was perfectly cooked and the toppings sang such a beautiful harmony that I finished every last bite (this never happens).

Cute labeled paper on the tables

Made a pit stop here before flying back home last month. I was craving some chicken strips & this place hit the mark for me! I was extremely bummed that French fries didn't come with the order but at least there was some celery in its place. ( I do love my veggies !) The Mac & cheese was cooked perfectly and was creamy but it was borderline too salty. Given that we were starving and in a rush we didn't notify our server of this. Ooo & I wish I would have gotten his name because he was absolutely amazing! Super tentative and he even noticed use trying to watch football on our phone and put it on the big screen for us. What a guy! Would be interested in trying this place again when I get to come back to SFO.

Dirty Dianes Jalapeno Bloody Mary
Ryan R.

Some say you eat with your eyes.. This is just for bloody Mary which tasted good but presentation was just... Sad..... For $17, no extras.. pepper, celery salt, a stalk of celery? Nada... Just a pour of vodka and the mix. It was like the Charlie Brown Christmas tree of bloody Marys. Bartender was cool and attentive.

When I looked at the online ordering, it said it would take about 20 minutes, and my hotel was about a 20 minute ride away, so that worked out perfectly. I ordered the Sheriff and some seasoned fries and got on the road. Both the burger and fries were hearty and hit the spot. Overall, this perfectly nails a 4-star experience. The burger wasn't some kind of next level amazing, but it was just a perfectly enjoyable way to end my 4 days in the Bay Area. Hidden Spot is essentially the kitchen portion of a dive bar. I sat at a table with only one other patron in the place around 11am on a Saturday morning. The other patron was enjoying the ability to be fully in charge of the digital juke box while I was enjoying stuffing my face.

It has that authentic sports bar vibe without trying too hard. TVs going, people locked into games, and just an overall relaxed energy. It feels like a place you can come to regularly, not just once. It didn't feel like a tourist spot at all, more like somewhere locals actually hang out. Food-wise, it's solid bar food done right. Wings, burgers, and the kind of stuff you actually want when you're watching a game or just kicking back. Nothing fancy, but it hits and fits the environment. The drinks were on point too. Good beer selection, solid cocktails, and plenty of options if you're just trying to chill for a while. The setup with TVs and bar games makes it easy to stay longer than you planned. The staff and the crowd both added to the experience. It felt welcoming, people were comfortable, and you don't get that awkward feeling walking into a new place. Only thing to keep in mind is it's very laid back and first come first served. Depending on when you go, you might have to wait or stand around a bit. I asked our waitress if we could get additional menus for the rest of the table, and she explained they had run out and were waiting for other guests to finish with theirs. We ended up asking if there was a QR code version we could scan, and she brought one over. I was mostly confused why the QR code wasn't offered immediately, knowing half the table didn't have menus to begin with. It just made the start of the experience feel a little disorganized. That said, there were definitely some positives. The sparkling cider for Mother's Day brunch was a really nice touch, and the Shanghai lumpia was fantastic. I ordered the two-protein silog breakfast with eggs, and while the flavors were good, the single scoop of rice just didn't feel proportionate to the rest of the plate. Any Filipino knows you need a little more rice to balance everything out, so I ended up not finishing my meal because it felt off portion-wise. There is a free well-maintained parking lot on the side and back of the casino, and it was easy to find a parking spot. I also saw a free shuttle bus taking people to/from the San Bruno BART station. There is only one restaurant which serves both American food (helmed by an American chef) and Chinese food (helmed by a Chinese chef). There is a direct entrance to the restaurant on San Mateo Ave, although you can walk through the casino from the main entrance to the back right area labeled "Bar". You order & pay at the counter and find a table and they will bring out the food to you on a cart when it is ready. There were plenty of tables on a Sunday evening ~6pm. All items already have tax included. They also have 4 different types of cakes (chocolate, carrot, tres leches, etc) and other desserts you can purchase. You get your own free water by the bar area of the restaurant. No need to bus your own table; there is a busboy who occasionally walks around cleaning up the plates and wiping down tables. Within the context of everyday no-frills cuisine, I would rate the food a 3.5/5. NY steak $28 - there was a nice grilled flavor and it was cooked perfectly medium but the meat itself was a little tough/chewy (which is why I prefer other cuts, but I can't be too picky here). It came with decently flavored mashed potatoes & gravy and a good-sized portion of sauteed vegetables. Chicken Parmesan $19. Generous portion. Came with fettuccine with tomato / marinara sauce. The sauce was a little too sour for my liking, and the chicken itself was a little dry. Shrimp with lobster sauce $22. Sauce doesn't actually have lobster (it's more of a thick Chinese black bean sauce with bits of minced pork, sauteed onions, and bell peppers). It's served over white rice. It was surprisingly hearty. I liked how there was enough sauce to coat each spoonful of rice. I personally would not return because I don't have a reason to gamble here and I don't like getting carded when entering (which I guess you could consider a compliment), but if you did spend the day here at the tables, the restaurant isn't a bad choice to have lunch/dinner.
