It sucks when you realize you need to get your car smogged to renew its registration. FIC made it must less of a hassle. 20 minutes while the professional staff tests your car and sends the certificate to the DMV electronically. Second time I taken my truck there and there will be a third time most likely. read more

The guy who owns this place is a complete A hole. Do not take your car to him. He smiles when you arrive but then its a total nightmare trying to deal with him. Good luck and go to somewhere else next door to him. Parking sucks and he will give you a bunch of excuses if your car does not pass. All he wants is his fee....stay away. read more

Joe and Brian, you guys ROCK!!!! I was referred by our local gas station in Rancho Santa Fe, who said they send everyone who asks to you guys. Now I know why! Our Ferarri needed to have the SMOG test done for the registration. Sadly, the "check engine" light came on two days prior! Joe at FIC referred me to Chris at Coastal Foreign Auto Repair three doors down, who fixed the issue (a loose gas cap!) for FREE! Two days later, after confirming that the loose gas cap was the issue, Brian at FIC was able to SMOG our Ferarri in 10 minutes! These guys are AWESOME, and will now have all our business! First time ever getting a smog check here in California, and I can't say enough about what a wonderful experience this was. Made a same day appointment, fit me in no problem. When I arrived, The owner of the shop, Bryan, greeted me at reception and was super friendly. Gave me a quick run down of the process, and had me out in 10 mins, wow! He even has a $10 off coupon on his website for first-time customers! Great experience, will never go anywhere for smog tests in the future. I plan on recommending to others too! OMG, my registration is due tomorrow and I need a smog test! Sound like you? That was me last month. Not wanting to pay The Man the late fee to register my car, I called FIC and asked if I could get a test that day. They said sure, what time do you want to come in? I made an appointment for later that afternoon, drove in, waited only 20 minutes, and it was done. They even send the smog results directly to the gov. so I didn't have any extra paperwork to do. Sweet! I would definitely recommend FIC if you don't want to waste time on the smog test process. They are fast and professional. 'Nuff said. read more

Brought my Infinity I30 here for a smog and Mr. Deezy took care of my car. In and out in 30 minutes, very reasonable price $60. The smog tech then pointed me across the street to AAA so that I could renew my registration hassle free with no long DMV lines. Call and make your appointment today folks, you will not be disappointed. If this place is good enough for a Ferrari owner it's probably good enough for you! read more

Incredibly fast! I was in and out within 10 minutes. Given that the last time I got a smog I waited 90 minutes, I was definitely impressed. Joe was very professional, and was able to help despite the fact that I had forgotten my DMV renewal paperwork. He just used my old registration instead. I would highly recommend them if you're in the Encinitas or North County areas. They're at the very back of the complex, so make sure you go to the right place. read more

Great service, reliable, honest. This is my second time here, and I'll be back. Easy to make an appointment and they run on time. Even though I was a few minutes late, the technician was so courteous, got me out in less than a half hour. Made the same day appointment to smog my BMW. Found $10 off first time customer coupon on their website and the total was $49.75. The whole appointment took 12 minutes, with the paperwork! Nice, efficient, clean little shop. To get there, make sure you drive all the way to the back of the plaza, pass Complete Car Care smog service (who did try to steal the business when I asked them about FIC) read more

Had an O2 sensor replaced recently, and programming the truck's computer takes time to calibrate, including a gas tank's worth of driving. So noone wants to get their car smoged. I know every year when I get my notice I can't wait to see if I have to go get a smog. That was until I found FIC smog. So I put the smog off as long as I could, Finally, one day I threw on my sweatpants since I did not want to get my good clothes stained. Procrastinated about a month then went to the closest place, down the street. I went through a door expecting grease everywhere and about an hour wait, then about another hour for the smog. The room was clean with chairs, a tv and air conditioning. I asked the guy about the smog he said sure no problem, have a seat and I have one car ahead of you and ill be right back. I started watching TV the remote was next to me so I could change the channels. Next thing I new the car was done. I did not want to leave I was so comfortable. Ever since I go to FIC smog. I made an apt for my wife's Porsche 993 that has been sitting in a garage for a decade. My wife and I found out that FIC was closer to my house than some of the smog shops in Encinitas, they also have rock solid reviews.They cost a little bit more, but the convenience was probably worth it. I made an appointment for her, and we had a great experience. There was a young guy there, who had a lot of Porsche knowledge, and was really pleasant, he was so nice to all of the customers. The place had air conditioning and a nice bathroom. We really enjoyed our experience there and will certainly be back! read more

What a fantastic service! I brought in my car at noon on my lunch break, I had set an appointment and Joe had me out of here all paid up with my smog taken care of for two years in under ten minutes. I even got to go out to eat and get other errands done during my lunch hour. A prompt, clean service that is easy to get done. There is even AAA dmv across the street. I used to go to Encinitas Smog on the other side of the highway, but it was always packed and busy. Service was hit or miss too. I will always bring my families cars and trucks here from now on!! On the Saturday following New Years, i realized that I had to get my car smogged. As always, I waited to the very last minute! I drove to 3 places that were by my house, and none of them we dong smog checks until Monday. I went home, and decided to check out the phone book, something I hadn't done in a very long time. I found FIC Smog, and was able to get my can in there w/in an hour, and was able to register my car that very evening! I was in and out in about 20 min. read more

I recently visited FIC Smog in Encinitas, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. The store owner is exceptionally friendly, and the service provided is truly amazing. A solid 10/10 for a welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service! Highly recommend. read more
