I've been bringing all of my vehicles to FIG SMOG for over 10 years, and the service has always been outstanding. Most recently, RC helped me with the smog check on my 2002 Ford Thunderbird, and he was professional, knowledgeable, honest, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. It's becoming harder and harder to find trustworthy shops and genuinely honest people these days, which is exactly why I continue to return to FIG SMOG year after year. RC takes the time to answer questions, explains everything clearly, and makes what could be a stressful process quick and easy. If you're looking for a reliable smog check station with excellent customer service and integrity, I highly recommend FIG SMOG and RC. They've earned my business for over a decade, and I wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else. Highly Recommended! read more

If you are looking for someone who is at the highest level of competence combined with being of the nicest persons you will meet anywhere, then Bryan is the guy. My very first encounter with him back in 2010 he stayed late on a Friday for me and smogged my car that I needed to have done so I could sell it on Saturday. He earned my business forever by doing that and I have been taking all my cars to him ever since. All businesses should be run the way he runs this one. I would give him 6 stars out of 5! read more

This is where I'll be getting my car smog from now on. They couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. Quick service and I was on my way.

Everything 10/10 reputable efficient and professional. Def trustworthy and experienced

This was my 2nd year visiting for a smog check. This time was a walk-in and my car was immediately taken for testing. Bryan was polite and grateful for my return for service. Value for smog check was reasonable. I will return in 2 years... read more

Great place to bring your car for a smog check. It was quick and information was provided directly to the state.

wise, wonderful & local. Where you'll REALLY appreciate him is if your car ever doesn't pass! those pesky computer systems can cause a car to fail smog if you've had an issue with your battery. That happened to me and he wrote out exactly what I needed to do step-by-step. I followed his directions and came back and it passed perfectly. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. read more

FIC Smog in Encinitas was awesome. After wasting 45 minutes in traffic and then another 50 minutes at a different smog station that basically just let my car sit there idling before it failed, coming to FIC was a huge relief. I've got a 2018 Subaru with only 55k miles, so I knew something about that first experience felt off. The team at FIC was super patient with me the whole way through, especially since I had to reschedule a few times while trying to get the car ready. They were friendly, understanding, and clearly knew what they were doing. They even checked my OBD II O2 sensor before the smog test, which I really appreciated. That alone showed me they actually care about helping people instead of just running cars through the line. Once I got there, I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Great people, honest service, and a much better experience than the other place. I'd absolutely recommend FIC Smog to anyone in Encinitas, especially if you care about your car and want a shop that treats you right. read more

Fast and professional service. I've used FIC at least 4 times over the years and although the parking is tight in this lot, they get you in and out quick. read more

Amazing all around, fast, easy, and the only place I go when it's time for a smog! Going back everytime

Great shop. Fast. Reliable. Friendly. My place to go for smog checks. Much recommended.

These guys have always been fair reasonable. It's a quick In-N-Out most days. It all sucks that we have to pay these extra fee fees and taxes to get our cars registered but they do their part and I appreciate that. read more

He didn't even take off my emergency break as he drove my car. Not friendly at all -would not recommend or go back.

Fic Smog - Front store - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Encinitas, California

Super quick and easy! Great price and was able to fit me in same day. Highly recommend

Quick and easy! Service was great. Called ahead to see if I could come in at a certain time, took 15 min and was out.

Easy to get an appointment, friendly, efficient, and professional service. I'll be back.

Called at the end of the day and asked if I could come in for a smog. I was asked what time was good for me the following day and brought it in around 9a. Waited while it was done. Didn't have to pay an arm and a leg just because it was done in Encinitas. The parking lot is a mess in that center which is nothing new, but I was able to find a spot no problem right out front. I would definitely recommend Fic. Fast, convenient and courteous service all around. read more

Second visit and happier than the first. 5 Stars. Great service. In and out without an appointment. Thanks Fic Smog! read more

My first few attempts at smogging a Jeep Wrangler proved unsuccessful at other smog shops. All I was ever told was that I failed. Or "go drive the car around" and all kinds of other useless information. That was until I failed inspection at FIC. He asked me a few questions about my car then told me specifically what to google to find out how to actually do a cycle reset so it was then ready to test. Had I known that after spending money repairing parts on the car I more than likely would have just passed the first time around. Kudos to FIC for helping me figure out what was needed in order to get the car "smog ready". Would certainly do business here again. read more

Amazing service, quick and friendly. This is the place you want to be if you need a smog check

I always take my cars to Brian at FIC Smog. I recently was selling an older vehicle that had had a Check Engine light signal come on. I had the repair done but then was having difficulty getting the car ready for a successful smog test. Brian helped me through the process of getting the car's computer system to to reset so that the smog test could be performed. He saved me hours of time. He runs a great business - he's always patient, thorough and professional. I will continue to take my cars to him and his business in the future. read more

My car failed the first smog test here because I didn't know disconnecting the battery resets the emissions sensors, but the folks at FIC told me how I could fix that and come back for a retest at a lower rate. They also double checked the sensors were ready before starting the retest to make sure I wouldn't waste my money. Solid recommendation here read more
