I visited Fia Steak for dinner on February 11th and it ended up being one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in a long time. The atmosphere immediately stood out -- it has a warm European-style charm that feels elegant without being stiff. Cozy lighting, intimate spacing, and a relaxed energy made it easy to settle in and enjoy the evening. The food was exceptional across the board. The caviar cigar and caviar set were highlights -- rich, refined, and perfectly balanced rather than overwhelming. The Branzino was beautifully cooked with clean flavors and great texture. For dessert, the chocolate soufflé was outstanding -- you rarely see soufflé offered anymore, and this one was done properly: light, airy, and deeply chocolatey. We also ordered another dessert (name unfortunately forgotten) that included three cream puffs each topped with a scoop of ice cream. Before serving, the staff performed a flame presentation -- almost like a small tableside ceremony -- which was both entertaining and theatrical, and it actually tasted as good as it looked. Service deserves special recognition. Our server, a well-dressed gentleman whose name I sadly didn't catch, delivered truly outstanding hospitality. He consistently checked on our experience in a natural, non-intrusive way and clearly cared about the guests enjoying the night. His professionalism elevated the entire dinner. Between the ambiance, memorable dishes, and attentive service, this was a restaurant experience rather than just a meal. For the price, the food could have been better. The risotto was salty and slightly undercooked We were told that the Wellington would be slightly on the rare side due to the pastry. That's understandable, but the meat was VERY rare The potatoes had good flavor, but it was very salty The ribeye was very good The chocolate souffle was outstanding! I went to this place in April for date night - and boy what an experience this was. This was the first time me and my boyfriend tried Fia Steak. When we walked in we were greeted by a moody romantic ambiance. We were ushered to the back room, where we were surrounded by other couples. Staff was friendly and super attentive. I got their vodka specialty drink, and my bf got their version of an old fashioned. My boyfriend ended up getting a New York strip and I got a fillet. This was hands-down. Visited Fia for a birthday! Everything went so smoothly, I will absolutely be back! There is valet parking right in front of the restaurant, inside is very intimate and sleek. Not noisy at all so everyone can enjoy their evening. We were seated in a booth and everything was very nicely set up and we got a nice view of the bar and where the magic happens. Our waiter Curtis was very professional and educated on the menu; very kind and helpful with recommendations. He was also dressed professional and was very composed all evening. We kept the evening very simple and started with bread and butter, I will never know what this bread was coated with but it tasted heavenly, paired with rich easy melting butter this made the perfect bite. Plated very nicely, this is a safe starter to any dinner here. Curtis gifted us these stuffed tortellini's that were garnished with black truffle, chefs kiss. For our entrees I enjoyed a New York strip and my guest enjoyed the bone in ribeye on the menu, they both came with different sauces that paired nicely with each cut; we shared the truffle potatoes which were smooth and not truffle forward if anyone is sensitive to that earthy taste it sometimes gives. Birthday desert was a chocolate soufflé, be advised this does take some time to prepare so it's always a good idea to let your waiter know ahead of time so they can course it for you. Our server Jesse was wonderful, charming, and so attentive- the awesome service we received him and all of the friendly staff made the meal extra special. Everything we ordered was unbelievably delicious- from the Caesar salad, bread and butter, spicy ahi tuna cigar, filet mignon, truffle mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and our banana flambe dessert. Please reconsider this restaurant before you go. I rarely leave reviews, but our experience at Fia Steak on the evening of my boyfriend's birthday was so disappointing, I had to share. To start, the sampler tortellini was severely undercooked. Not just al dente, but visibly raw in texture. While the flavor was okay, it was barely edible. Unfortunately, things only got worse from there. My boyfriend ordered the New York strip medium-rare, and I ordered the filet mignon medium. His steak arrived completely raw inside, cold and visibly undercooked throughout. After cutting into multiple parts to confirm, we called the waitress over. She acknowledged how raw it was and assured us it would be remade quickly. Shockingly, it came back in under a minute, clearly the same exact plate, with the steak pieces still arranged as he had left them. The outside had been slightly seared, but the inside remained raw. It seemed microwaved, an absolutely unacceptable practice for any restaurant, let alone one of this caliber. When it was still undercooked, only the largest piece of the strip was taken back in a small dish to be reheated, which felt odd and unprofessional. At that point, we asked for a completely fresh steak, but we had already lost our appetites and decided to leave. We were told the meal would be comped, and I said I'd gladly pay for what we actually consumed, which was one cocktail and the bread/butter. So I was shocked when the bill came out to over $90, and even more surprised to see charges for the mashed potatoes and broccolini, which we never got a chance to eat alongside our inedible steaks. I had scooped a small amount of potatoes onto my plate (which I didn't touch), and both sides were cleared before we could respond or ask to box them. My boyfriend even said aloud, "I didn't get to try them." We ate virtually nothing, just one piece of bread each, one cocktail, and a single bite of the filet mignon. That bite alone was enough to tell something was off, the flavor and texture weren't right, and it didn't taste fresh. It was hard to put my exact finger on, but I felt like I would be sick if I ate it. I've ordered filet mignon at countless steakhouses and fine dining establishments, and this one made me question the handling and quality of the meat. What makes this worse is that I had called ahead, emailed, and left notes on OpenTable trying to make the night feel special since we were celebrating a birthday. Instead, it turned into a scramble to find a last-minute replacement restaurant, which changed our evening plans and let to us having to canceled our post dinner activity. The mood of the night shifted entirely. While the manager kindly gave us his card and invited us to return, we unfortunately won't be coming back. He was pushy and made me feel a little bit uncomfortable to be entirely honest. I truly hate writing reviews like this just as much as the team probably hates receiving them, but this experience was unacceptable and shocking at just how bad it was. $100 total for bread and a cocktail is also insane. They offered us a glass of champagne after 15 minutes but I would have rather been seated on time. Foie gras 5/5: Can't really go wrong with foi gras. This place was a huge disappointment! I can't believe all the glowing reviews. First of all, it's about 10-20% more expensive than other steakhouses (Boa, Meat on Ocean, Mastro's for local comparison). Of course, the price of beef has skyrocketed, and a $70-80 steak is normal. But here it's more like a $80-100 steak. The sides and appetizers are in the $20-30 range, which is also about 10-15% above the competition. For example, a veggie side or mashed potatoes is $20 here vs $15-17 at other places, and a basic salad with no meat is $30, which would be $20-25 elsewhere. There is NOTHING about this place that justifies a 10-20% premium over the local steakhouse competition. In fact, the food is worse and the portions are smaller. My $90 New York Steak was filled with gristle and fat, and wasn't particularly tender or flavorful. I've had better choice NY steaks from places like the Galley for 40% of the price. The $30 hamachi crudo they kept pushing was 3 tiny slivers that tasted like water. Their $30 caesar salad is big but very average. The $20 potato side was a tiny little cup. At least at Mastro's and Boa you get cartoonishly big sides. Here they are chinsy. The dining room is small and cramped and you are very close to other tables so all your conversations can be heard. They chose to play odd music like Smash Mouth, Lady Gaga, Fuel, Creed. Just unusual choices for a supposed high end restaurant. The service was disappointing as well. It was attentive, but almost too attentive. The waiter was putting on a show and a script. He was trying to be a comedian but just came across as invasive and brusque. It almost felt like he was filled with contempt and sarcasm for the diners - maybe sick of his job and the diners (I get it - not easy working in expensive restaurants) but his whole vibe was threw the dinner off. He would pontificate, pound his fists on the table, kept interrupting - it was like theater. Not conducive to a relaxing dining experience. This place would need to be 10-20% BELOW the competition to even be considered, but it's insulting they charge 10-20% more. You have many options in this part of town. Meat on Ocean, BOA, Mastro's in Malibu, Hillstone, even the Galley which isn't premium but has better food. read more

Quaint restaurant perfect for an intimate dinner. We had a reservation and were seated immediately by a friendly host. Our wait was so helpful, funny, chatty, and eccentric..it really added to our overall experience. What really attracted me any my friend to this place was the tuna topped with caviar and gold flakes, and it did not disappoint! Party in your mouth. We shared a small pot of soup and puff pastry, followed by a lovely steak and scalloped potatoes. Everything was delightful. The best meal I've had in Los Angeles by far. Upon arrival and opening the front door you get a sense that you're in for something unique and cool. Staff is very attentive and friendly. We were taken cared of by Samantha. She provided us with the specials of massive porterhouse steak (I believe it was 40oz? - 12 oz bone) and others. She shared her faves and really helped make us feel excited about all the food to come. The night went smoothly, the ambience was chill and relaxed. Dim lit lighting with pop culture portraits lining the walls. Everyone in the restaurant was having a good time and sharing in discussions. Not really a great place for kids though... too dark and cramped to worry about small kids running around, though the yelling and screaming would be drowned out by the conversations all around. On to the food... For the nights order: Starters: Spicy ahi tuna cones, caviar, gold leaf -I love sushi and these were a wonderful start to the meal. Not too heavy, but easy to share. The caviar was a nice touch for saltiness with the sweet and spicy ahi following after. The gold piece was definitely and ego booster- I ate something with a hint of 'purity' lol Hamachi crudo, lime leaf, coconut dressing, serranos, finger limes - this was a citrusy, spicy, and coconut curry flavored dish that was so good. If I could, I would order 3 of these. The hamachi was light and melted in your mouth while the other flavors just filled your senses with vibrant flavors! Good balance of flavors for sure! Main: Prime bone-in ribeye, Pommes Gaufrettes, Creekstone farms, 22oz Side order of peppercorn sauce. - the steak is shown to you prior to cooking it. It was massive, with a nice sized cap on the ribeye. I ordered it as the chef would want it- med rare. It came out perfect. Juicy. Flavor filled. Melting like butter in your mouth. Honestly this could've been eaten without any additional sauces, but the sauce it came with as well as the peppercorn sauces were so complimentary in their own way. This steak was enough to share with my wife (especially with all the other dish orders we had). This steak was freaking delicious. I mean if I could kiss the chef I would... so good! Sides: Miso glazed shiitake mushrooms - I enjoy miso glazed anything and so this dish peaked my interest. It was soft and lightly chewy. It was a substantial amount of mushrooms that were prepared. You could basically get full off of these. Sweet and savory. A definite must-try for miso lovers and mushroom lovers. Fia Steak truffle mashed potatoes -as soon as you have the plate placed on the table the smell of truffles fills the air and you are watering at the mouth. Soft, creamy, with small chunks of mashed potatoes. Easily mixed in with sauces, steak, mushrooms, etc. It was a safe choice to have on the table :) Dessert: 30 min prep (order at the start) Chocolate soufflé, Mankato chocolate, Grand Marnier Anglaise - the dessert was hot and fresh. The milk was poured over the soufflé and it was just beautiful. The taste soft and velvety. Warm and cozy with each bite. I wish I were at home watching a fave movie eating this soufflé. Just a dessert hit for sure. Chocolatey and warm. There were complimentary bread sticks and red pepper Fougasse (similar to focaccia bread). This came with salt, butter, and A5 wagyu steak spread (similar to the au jus and steak fat in solid form) to smother on your bread. It reminds me of Filipino chicken/pork adobo sauce when you put it in the fridge and it gets slightly firmer. This isn't off putting to me bc I love that flavor and it was just a great home cooking flavor I'm used to. A truffle soup with porcini mushroom was provided at the start as well. A perfect tasting starter to begin the meal- it had a rich flavor. At the end of the meal Samantha provided some sweet treats to end the night. I thought that was a perfect end to our night. However we were treated to another surprise which I won't mention in this review as I don't want to give a spoiler if you should be so fortunate to be given a special secret invitation ;) All in all, Fia Steak is an amazing place to have a splurge celebration with a loved one or two ( maybe a small party). The manager, Katie, was also so friendly and accommodating- she helped make the night even more special! Made a reservation to sit inside and arrived on time. I was told the table wouldn't be ready for another 30 minutes but that we could sit outside instead. The outdoor area was completely empty, but we had no other option. Service was indifferent. The manager tried to make amends by sending over champagne-without asking if I even drink (I don't). No one else sat outside the entire night, and staff rarely checked on us except to clear plates. The meal itself was poorly executed. I had diner at Fia Steak the other night for the first time. What I can assure you is that this will not be the last time I eat there. While the restaurant itself is easy to find on wilshire blvd it is important to know that there are two restaurants at the one location. Fia and Fia Steak. I accidentally went into Fia but was easily directed within the same structure to Fia Steak. The ambience of the place was very cool. The music artist artwork in the room we were sat was awesome. Who doesn't want to enjoy a fantastic meal while looking at art of Michael Jackson, Johnny Cash and NWA . I started with a really nicely done Manhattan with 12 yr knob creek. Okay well maybe I started with two. We shared some wine with dinner from a local winery recommended by the Som. The service was impeccable as well. There seemed like there was a different person for whatever you needed. Order a drink from your server (ours was Carl and Carl was my guy!). Someone else brings you the drink. Someone else brings you the water. Someone else folds up your napkin when you go to the restroom. The Som for the wine. Their staff was all fantastic! Now the meaty party of the night (all puns intended). I usually do not enjoy ordering the entire meal at once because the pacing is not to my liking. However Carl made sure to keep things paced just perfectly. We never got to the point where we had something in front of us and the next thing was coming. The bread service was really good and accompanied by a couple of chef inspired butters. But before the bread was this delightful chef sent mushroom soup. I don't usually deal with mushrooms but I wasn't turning anything away from this experience. For appetizers we ordered the scallops and lobster bisque which was a flavor explosion. Perfect scallops just perfect. We also got the table side grilled Caesar which I would recommend if you want to try something different from your traditional Caesar salad. We shared crème spinach. Scallop potatoes and asparagus. Our mains were the bone in ribeye and the petite filet. What was nice is that yet another person brought the steaks out and presented them to the table prior to cooking. A nice touch versus just seeing a tray of steaks before the meal as option. Our steaks were perfectly cooked. The flavor was marvelous. The sides were delicious. It truly was one smile after another throughout the meal. Each steak comes with a bearnaise sauce. I personally do not sauce steaks but did try it for the flavor. For dessert we shared the sticky toffee with ice cream. Again the chef sent a few little tidbits along with that included a delightful macaroon. If I could give the restaurant six stars I would but the extra star would be the price. I would likely recommend ordering the cigar caviar appetizer as well as the wagyu steak- the best wagyu that I've had in a while. Additionally, the service was incredible. I wanted somewhere especially good this year to celebrate my birthday so I chose Fia Steak because I am already a huge fan and I've had many great meals at Fia next-door. I have seen many different reviewer's praise Fia Steak so I have been wanting to try it for quite some time. It's very small on the inside, but in a classy, quaint way. When you enter, there is a large bar and cocktail area and then a larger dining room in the back, which is where we sat. They offer valet parking, but honestly parking in this area is really easy. We found a meter parking spot on the same block for a 7:30PM dinner. Our server Deana was very polite and did a great job, as well as the rest of the staff we encountered. I started off the meal with the Steak Tartare, and it was truly great. The spice mixed in with the meat really made it and having the egg charcoal cooked added another unique flavor profile. Next came in Dungeness Crab Salad, which was also wonderful. It was a large sized portion of crab and definitely would be easy to share. For my entrée, I chose the 22oz Creekstone Farms New York Strip Steak and it was cooked perfectly. It came with a side of butter and Cippolini onions, mixed together, as well as a peppercorn sauce. I ate the entire thing and was very happy at the end of the meal. We were going to do the soufflé or the toffee pudding but honestly we were just too full from all the food after that. Perfect amount of potatoes, cheese, and butter. OMG !!!!! I had a dream about them. SO GOOD! Tagliatelle in truffle sauce featured pasta Al dente flavor, not overly salty, Rich, creamy truffles melt in your mouth; the whole dish was so tasty and did not need any extra help with flavor. There was so much love and attention to taste, detail, and flavor complexity. Executive chef Brendan Collins and his Sous chef Chris Jett put their passion and experience to great use, and I will gladly return. Had dinner last Tuesday night and left feeling disappointed. I clearly pointed to the 10 oz Prime Ribeye for $75 when ordering, but I was served the 22 oz instead , which was $125 ,without any confirmation or notice. As a petite woman, I couldn't finish such a large portion and ended up taking most of it home. The environment was also very loud, which made it hard to enjoy the evening. To top it off, our bill came out to over $400 for just the two of us, and I didn't even drink alcohol. Please double-check your bill and your order when dining here , it's important to be aware. This cozy steak focused sister restaurant to Santa Monica's Fia has a great staff. We arrived a bit early for the first seating to celebrate a birthday and the hostess let us come in from the cold to start with cocktails at the bar. The bartender had excellent recommendations, I started with a Tony Soprano and my friend opted for the Careless Whisper. The TS was smoked barside. We went to our cute end table on the heated, covered patio. For the appetizers, the Hokkaido milk rolls were nice and fluffy. We opted for caviar eggs and spicy ahi tuna cigars (these are one of their most popular for good reason!) for appetizers. The market salad was topped with a calamansi dressing which is made with vinegar they make in house. Off menu items for the mains for dinner, as we were able to reserve the last beef Wellington of the week and also ordered mushroom risotto. The creamed spinach is topped with crème fresh which made it nice and light while still being decadent. The stand out potatoes were the Dauphinoise Potatoes, which were excellent! Thin slices of potatoes layered with butter with a brûlée top. The chocolate soufflé for dessert was nice and light. Overall the food here was absolutely mouthwatering delicious. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because there were some interactions of the night with employees that felt off and not as welcoming however the majority of the staff was wonderful. Plus the pricing, in my opinion, was a bit overpriced. The vibes of this place are very unique with a beautiful outdoor area and twinkle lights. Inside is very upscale with interesting artwork of famous musicians. We ordered the breadbasket which is a must. 3 different types of butter that each offer a different taste on your mouth with the warm focaccia bread. I could seriously eat this everyday. The hamachi was making me want more despite how full we were on the bread at this point. A delicious coconut curry sauce with jalapeños for a little spice offer bursts of bright flavors all over your mouth. Then we ordered the hand rolled cavatelli with black truffles-a creamy buttery sensation unlike some of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. The prime rib cap was perfectly cooked, medium rare, with the most inviting house made chimichurri sauce I've ever had. It was a concoction of epic flavors in my mouth. Then finally for dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding which we stuffed our faces with as this decadent rich dessert leaves you wanting more. My husband and I agree...this is one of the best dinners we've ever had! From start to finish, A through Z, we were in awe. Food was bursting with flavor. For appetizers, we got the steak tartare and the hamachi crudo. Highly recommend both! For entrees, I got the NY steak and hubby got the rib eye cap. We got potatoes on the side. For dessert, we got sticky toffee pudding. All I can say is WOW because it's so hard to describe just how amazing everything was. Service was top notch. Robert, our waiter, was very attentive. Even the staff bringing us our meal were very sweet and made sure everything was up to par. Only disappointment is that they don't allow you to bring your own wine and pay a corkage fee. They have an impressive wine "book", but the prices are insane. They charge almost triple the price of regular retail cost. We opted for cocktails instead. read more

This was our third time here and each visit we are more and more impressed. This time we sat at the bar and Jacqueline was the absolute best. Amazing recommendations and brought out the talented sommelier who recommended wonderful bottle of wine. You can never go wrong with the toffee pudding. Not sure how I missed sharing my thoughts about my experience at Fia Steak. Needless to say, this is well over due So, I'll start off with parking. Valet parking offered. Lots of street parking available though. I've not had an issue finding parking, both on Wilshire and on the side streets. Just read the signs re: permits and other restrictions. And, in typical Ran fashion, the evening I dined here with friends, I showed up early for our late reservation (9PM). I showed up around 8. Plan was to sit at the bar and enjoy an adult beverage or two. I ended up having three. Three Clarified Milk Punches. Read the description on their menu. It hit the spot for me and if our tastes align ... Dustin, the magic man behind the bar not only took care of me while waiting to be seated with my friends, he also took care of us, coming out from behind the bar to make sure my friends' drinks were to their liking. He even remade one. Excellent service. And it didn't stop there. Ben, and his team made sure me and my two friends were treated like royalty. Attentive, friendly and knowledgeable providing awesome suggestions; from the appetizers to the desserts. To the food - I knew I wanted steak and if you know me, you know I prefer mine rare. And rare is how it came out. See pics. Ben even made sure to check to see if it was to my liking. It was. And it went well with all the rest of the dishes that my friends and I shared. I don't remember all the names of the dishes but there wasn't anything I didn't like. I even devoured the bread and butter. An absolute experience indeed. The wood burning smell is incredible as you walk in, the restaurant is very intimate, the service was great and every bite was flavor town. Paul was our server who was exceptional, great energy & personality - we had some notions about what we thought we'd want to order, but he took us on a journey and provided excellent recommendations that we ultimately went with. I'm a fan of old fashions and they do a beautiful job with the 'Tony Soprano' single cube with the Fia branding (appreciate the tiny details) and accompanied by cherry wood smoke. We ordered the ahi tuna cigar, bread service, hamachi crudo to start, then followed by their oxtail pasta and bone-in ribeye. Sometimes we are concerned about portion sizes at nice establishments like this, but the sizes were perfect and we had multiple to-go boxes at the end. Would highly recommend the tuna cigar (brought to you in a cigar box which is fun), the oxtail pasta and naturally, the steak, as if the name of the restaurant doesn't give it away. Something that stuck out to me was the level of care with what seemed to be everything at the restaurant - I got up to wash my hands and a nice gentlemen (I didn't get his name, but he had cool glasses on) immediately noticed and walked me to the restrooms. Personally, it's often the small things that make the most difference. Overall, a very nice date night with my lady and we're quite happy with our experience. read more

Such a hidden gem. From the street, the restaurant is very unassuming. You walk down a long outdoor walkway into a gorgeous patio with lots of garden lighting. Definitely try to sit outside and you'll enjoy the ambiance whether you are on a date or just hanging out with friends. Everything on the menu sounded delicious but since we couldn't order everything especially since there were only 2 of us, we chose something from each main category. Appetizer: squid ink calamari - its squid ink so doesn't always photograph well. Each bite was flavorful with a great crunch and not oily at all. Vegetables: Brussels sprouts- crispy and tasty Pasta- homemade Cavatelli. Truffle shaved at your table over the pasta. Pasta cooked perfectly and wasn't overly heavy. I could eat this over and over. Entree- We shared the special which was a 14oz bone in filet with truffle butter melted table side. Steak cooked perfectly and omg the truffle butter added another level of goodness. Dessert - chocolate dome - melted table side. This was a chocolate lovers dream. A little too sweet for me but presentation was gorgeous. The flow of the meal was great. Allowed us to enjoy every dish without being overstuffed. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Can't wait to go back. read more
