I must say that I had a fantastic first time here , on a Friday afternoon! The outside patio ( with heaters) was very pleasant and enjoyable. My friend and I both had burgers. I tried the mushroom/Swiss and added bacon( didn't even get a pic of it). It was ok. I didn't overly LOVE it. As my side , I opted for the roasted Brussel sprouts. They were packed with flavor and I enjoyed them . We also had pimento cheese fritters. I loved the presentation... I hate grits so when I could distinctively tastes the stone ground grits. I didn't want anymore. Lol. My friend had the smash burger which is one of my fav burgers!!! She really enjoyed it! As her side , she had a mountain of fries! Plenty to share. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They made sure we were satisfied with our food and beverages. I definitely love this Ferus location. I love the Trussville location as well. They both offer two different experiences and atmospheres. This location is in a prime spot- check it out soon!!!

I want to be able to give this location 5 stars, but the service is what brings them down. Our server was incredibly slow and just seemed uninterested in being there all together. The food is fantastic though. I wish I had remembered to take more pictures! I had the pimento cheese burger and the red velvet sundae bread pudding. Both were absolutely delicious. I feel this location has a better menu than the Trussville location. I'm about equal distance to the two and I would choose Ferus on 41st over Trussville.

Definitely on the top five list of best burgers I've had. I ordered it with all of the fixings and was not disappointed. This jewel of a spot is located in the Avondale area in Birmingham. Food is excellent with a great happy hour. Btw, I sat at the

Moving into a restaurant location that was previously loved is a tough thing. Especially when it is totally different from a crowd and food standpoint. That is the thing for us with Ferus. We loved Fancy's and always felt like it was a great experience every time we went. It was also too crowded on the nights we actually went. So for this experience, it was much different. There was hardly anyone in there. And it still felt the same with different menu options. Can't blame Ferus on either of those. Just a different vibe to wrap my mind around. We decided to start with the fried pickles. They were plentiful and cooked well. But there was only so much we could eat with anticipation of entrees coming. I am a sucker for a French dip. So that is what I went with. It was very good with plenty of au jus. That is one of my pet peeves of some French dips is the lack of au jus. They fries were ok. But they seemed like they were in bag frozen. The vibe was very calm for a weekend night. Which is not the worst. Just, like I said, different. I would like to come back and have another experience before making any grand reviewing gestures. But right now. It was good, not great. A solid 4 stars.

Really cool venue with an outside patio featuring live music and cold beer. Good place to chill, have a drink and some food.

We've come to Ferus a few times now for a quick drink or bite and have always enjoyed our experience. The only reason for 4/5 stars is because of the time it takes to get some service. The staff is usually inside or away when we come to the outside bar. We love to sit outside with our dog, though, and enjoy the Adirondack chairs they have that face the theatre screen outside. The food is also so delicious! We will keep coming back for the drinks & food.

I celebrated my birthday here last night, and everything was great! They were able to accommodate a large group with a table in the back. This place was beautiful and gave me real Nashville vibes! I loved the drinks here! It might seem like a brewery, but I got two cocktails that I absolutely loved. The rum punch and the vodka flavored with cherry limeade were both sweet and delicious! You would have no idea there was any alcohol in it at all. To eat, I had the BLT and the french fries. It was a ton of food! Both were delicious. Probably the best BLT and fries I've ever had. I cant wait to be back here!

I really enjoyed my trip to Ferus. I was really excited for this location to open up and I had really been looking forward to it. The weather was sunny. So I met up with a friend and we sat in the outside patio area. It was a light breeze, but it was still very pleasant. They had heaters in this area. So, when we did get a little cool, they turned them on for us. Katie, our server, took really good care of us and made good recommendations. The manager came out and was also very friendly. For the appetizer, we had Pimento Cheese fritters. I could have eaten these all night. The fritters also had some sort of syrupy sauce on the bottom that made them even more delectable. The pimento cheese was mixed with stone ground grits and then rolled into a ball and fried. So yummy and I would highly recommend. For my entree, I had the Smash Burger and it was great. I loved it and I could tell that it would easily be one of my favorite burgers. For my side, I had fries. They give you so many fries. It was enough to share. My friend had the Mushroom and Swiss burger and added bacon to it. She seemed to enjoy it. She had the roasted brussel sprouts for her side. The sides seem very plentiful. So we just shared our sides with each other. The brussel sprouts were seasoned really well and the fries were perfectly cooked (not too hard and not too much salt). I also had a Rum Punch that was really good. It was very refreshing.

We've been wanting to try the Trussville Ferus location for a while but got to the Avondale location first! First, great atmosphere and not just beer to drink, right up my alley. I got the rum punch and it was stout without being overpowering. I loved it. We also got the pimento cheese fritters and jalapeño jam. At first I thought they needed more salt but when I added the jam it was perfect! We split a double bacon cheese burger with fries. It hit the spot for sure! We finished off with their white chocolate bread pudding and it was amazing to look at and eat. Very impressed! We will be back and hopefully get to try the Trussville location as well.

Been to this location & the trussville location & to be honest I think the trussville one is better, but the food here wasn't bad. We had loaded fries, the prime rib sandwich & potato salad. Don't get the potato salad unless you REALLY like dill.

Are the tables all high tops?

Not inside the restaurant but outside patio has some high top seating . If I remember correctly.

But we'd spent the day at McWane Center and we were starving so we were there to EAT! The food looked gorgeous but it tasted very meh. The onion rings had too much breading on them, which I didn't think was possible, but here we are. The part of the breading next to the onion was mushy so that threw off the texture of the whole thing too. The burger was very much like a Whataburger. Even the lettuce smelled the same. I got The Standard and the bun of the burger was a little mushy (similar to Whataburger) and there was not much meat. For an $11 burger, I'm expecting more than a Whataburger. My middle kid likes everything on her burger and isn't picky at all and the loaded kid burger looked impressive but it was about the same as mine. Not awful, but not very good either. Very close to the same amount of meat. She's the queen of the Clean Plate Club and she only ate half. The fries were good but a somewhat too salty, the dip that came with the onion rings was excellent and we ended up using it for the fries. We had 2 adults and 3 kids and our meal was $63 before tip for 5 waters, 2 adult burgers, 2 kid burgers, a kid grilled cheese, and a basket of fries and onion rings (I thought I was ordering a "side" of fries, not realizing I actually ordered a basket and it was a lot of fries and onion rings). We don't mind spending money on good food, but the prices here don't align with what you get. No one was more disappointed than me, I've been wanting to eat here for FOREVER!!!

Parking is primarily street parking in the area, but there is also a public parking deck nearby. I'm unsure what the current cost is for the deck, but it's worth knowing if you're visiting during a busier time. I ordered the fish tacos with black beans and chose the cheese grits as my second side. Everything tasted fresh and had lots of flavor. The real star of the meal, though, was the sweet potato cake. It was incredibly moist and delicious. Honestly, I could've eaten four of them without shame or hesitation. My colleagues ordered burgers and fries. They both really enjoyed their burgers, but neither cared much for the fries. They had also requested a couple additional items after the food arrived, but those items never made it to the table. The decor is bright and fun, though it didn't quite seem to match the style of food being served. Just my personal observation. They also have a robot that helps deliver the food alongside the servers, which felt a little unexpected for the casual atmosphere and southern comfort food vibe. They were fairly busy since it was lunchtime on a Friday, but the wait really wasn't bad at all. Would I go back? Yes. Was it my absolute favorite? No. But there were definitely things I enjoyed, especially that sweet potato cake that nearly made me consider ordering dessert first next time.

We ordered the hot chicken sandwich with a side of coleslaw, and both were packed with flavor. The slaw was light, crisp, and not overloaded with mayo, with just a slight peppery kick that made it incredibly tasty. The hot chicken sandwich itself wasn't overwhelmingly spicy, but it was finger-licking good -- juicy, well-seasoned, and satisfying down to the last crumb. We truly enjoyed every bite. The ambience with its bright green, purple and white colors added to the experience. The restaurant was lively and full of people, which is always a good sign. I also caught glimpses of other patrons' dishes, and everything coming out of the kitchen looked just as delicious as what we ordered. Service was friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. Staff members seemed genuinely happy to be there and kept things moving smoothly. The location is right in the heart of downtown Bhama, so parking is metered street parking, but the prices were reasonable and worth it for the quality and uniqueness of the food. Overall, this spot delivered on food, atmosphere, and service. Big thumbs up from me -- I'll definitely be back!
