I really wanted to like the pizza so bad BC the reviews seemed great, but I seriously hated how it tasted. Not just me, but my family as well. I can't even explain how it tasted, it was the oddest tasting pizza I ever had and the cheese got stuck to your teeth. My nephew who is a huge fan of pizza and eats it everyday, disliked it as well. I can't believe after years of infrequently ordering takeout from here I've never reviewed it. Let's just say while in the surrounding area for 4th of July weekend, I made a special trip here just to pick up their infamous hot wing pizza and lug it the two plus hours home to Philly - it's that good. The plain is great also but definitely a specific style of pizza you have to be in the mood for. And I hear they make a kick-ass Hawaiian (however, I'm not partial to ham or pineapple). But nothing...and I mean nothing...can prepare you for how amazing their hot wing pizza is. I've tried my fair share of buffalo chix pizzas and nothing comes close to this. Thick and crunchy (yet soft) crust that does a lot of legwork holding up to all those toppings, light tomato sauce layer, a béchamel jawn of melty bleu cheese and other mixed mozzarella varieties, hearty buffalo chicken pieces, MORE bleu cheese crumbles/clusters, a drizzle of the hot sauce, and fresh chopped celery. It's everything you want in a hot wing pizza and more. Just get down here and introduce your mouth to what it's missing. (Pro tip: cash only). read more

The staff, mostly the owner Bill Ferri, is disrespectful and rude. This is supposed to be a family eating establishment, while the owner can be heard screaming at the staff behind. The wings, however, are very good, but I'd rather find the worst wings in the world at a restaurant with phenomenal service. That should tell you a little bit about my Ferri's experience. The pizza is also super cheesy and if you're a fan of pizza cheese that sticks to the roof of your mouth (with weird flavors like seafood and pickle pizza) then I'm sure you'll fit right in. I only gave this one star because I couldn't give it ZERO. wtf?!?!!? I waited a 1/2 hour to calm down before I wrote this too. I thought and thought and thought. THIS Is quite possibly the WORST PIZZA I have ever eaten. you know how they say "bad pizza is like bad sex"? "they" are wrong. ferri's pizza is comparable to ellio's - but ellios laughs at this place. their size and shape are similar. undercooked dough, no doubt about it canned sauce (I shit you not -like ragu or something) and splotchy un-mozzarella cheese. I took one bite and threw the rest away. grotesque. trying to be half serious for the point of the review, buy a box of ellio's and foil it under your car hood in the engine compartment to heat it up. it would be superior. fool me once, shame on me. it is the poconos - part of pennsyltucky - so I'm not entirely astonished to find bad pizza. but this is just bad food. period. other recommendations: pick your nose. or how about not eat. read more

It's Old Forge style pizza so you either love it or hate it. Me, I love it. They've got some good specialty pizzas as well like their hot wing pizza, or the pagash pizza during Lent (you might need to fast for a few days if you want to eat more than a slice of that!). This is the best pizza you will ever have. Seriously. My father-in-law grew up in nearby Scranton and swears by Ferri's Pizza. My husband and I go up to Elk Mountain occasionally and pass by the area, so we make a point out of stopping every time we are up there. Of course his whole family has us stock up on pizza to bring back for them! We bring back several pies just for ourselves and freeze them (which is pointless because we end up eating them within a week.. there is no resisting!!) Go here and thank me later. VERY disappointed. Just ordered for a party two weeks ago and was awesome. Today, I ordered a pizza and an Italian sub with the request of no dressing (being saved for later) and no tomato(for someone that can't have tomatoes). I was quickly told "can't do that". I explained that the person ordering it can't have tomato. They person on taking the order said "they can't be personalized" I said even with an allergy to tomatoes?! The answer stayed the same.. they offered turkey or ham that "can be made to order".. how are the Italians not made to order??? Okay. I asked for a total seeing that they're CASH ONLY. Straight out says no. I literally didn't even know how to reply. There was a pause and she says "but I can give you prices if you get a pen and paper".... fine. Gives me prices. When we get home and open the pizza, I was stunned... the toppings were thrown like confetti around the pizza. All over the box. Little to no cheese. There was literally crust that was detached from the pizza. Mostly watered down sauce on dough. Next time we'll think twice about ordering from here. read more

The decor is the best thing about this place. The pizza....it's not pizza. Premade scicillian crust, bland sauce, and American cheese. I have no clue why it's called pizza. Absolutely horrible experience. Credit card machine was broke and they told us we had to wait after we ate til the repair guy would show up. Then the owner continued to berate me in front of customers because i didnt have any more than $5 cash on me. Told his waitress that me and my wife were probally lying saying the machine was broke so we would get free food. After that i said nevermind ill take my business elsewhere. He came out and got in my face and told me to get the F out and pretended to call the police..all because his card machine didnt work. A family sitting down also got up and left when they heard the owner say the F word infront of the 4yr old child. And the roaches playing around on his sad excuse for a coal mining museum were a nice touch to scare anyone away also. read more

Red pizza is very good. I was told they were connected to the old Ferri's on Keyser Ave and the one on the Top of Taylor Hill. The footlong hotdogs at the supposed connected places chili sauce and bun were very different. I like onion on my hot dogs and my 2 foot longs had three slices on each. If I knew I would have asked for more onion. Also they do not take debit/credit cards and have an ATM that charges $2.50 for a withdrawal. I think it's time they get with the times. I will go back for pizza. Definitely during lent because I love pagans how, but I will ask for extra onion. read more

My partner and I live right around the corner. He loves their red pizza. I'm a white pizza type of person. So I got their white with broccoli pizza. The taste was ok but hard to eat. The broccoli wasn't cooked. They didn't precook the broccoli at all. I was disappointed that I had to try to save it by drizzling water on top, wrapping with foil, and cooking it again. It would have been nice if I could substitute with spinach. They said they don't substitute. That's sad. I think the red is the only thing that seems to be worth it, says my partner. I did hear about the owner losing it in front of the customers. I guess I'm lucky to not go in that much to see the show. read more

We decided to check this place out after 3 years of moving here. We're always into exploring and trying out places. We went inside, the cool thing about this place is the museum. We checked out the menu, looked through it for a bit then finally decided on just a pepperoni pizza. The price was about $20, they didn't take card, had to use an atm an extra $3-$4. Then came the pizza, my husband ordered a regular plain pizza. We were excited to try it, he was extremely hungry so decided to take the first bite. He immediately spit it out. American cheese does not belong on pizza people!! He said it was soo bad, he never let me try it, he threw it in woods instead. He said it was so gross, he would never subject me to that ever. Ferri's is certainly unique. Many locals swear by their potato pizza, I find it a little too heavy. Their regular pizza is different than most, with a cheese that sticks to the roof of your mouth. But I find that whenever I'm in Moscow, I crave Ferri's. If you're looking for Italian or New York style pizza, this is not the place. read more

I came into the Pizza Place to pick up my order and a friends order of the Thanksgiving pizza. When I gave the names for the pick up the girl from the counter went to the back and a woman came through the window of the kitchen and was saying to me that you're only a post to get two of these pizzas a day you're not a post to pick up other people's orders she was being rude and unprofessional and giving me attitude and I said I'm sorry I didn't know I was not allowed to pick up another person's pizza order she then began to say how do I know that they're not all for you. I politely said that they're not I'm just picking up someone else's order also while I'm here because they live too far. She then said do I look like an idiot and I said I didn't say you did I said I'm just here to pick up pizzas and she said to me I shouldn't even sell them all to you but I'm going to let it go today. For someone like that to act rude to a customer is very wrong you're in this business to sell food and pizza and you treat a customer like that. I believe the woman who treated me like this was the owner. This pizza place has lost a customer in Moscow so I'm hoping other people will see this. read more

Ferri's is outstanding! Every time I come to Moscow I'm getting, and eating half a tray. It's not the same boring NYC pizza you get in the Poconos. This is old forge goodness made by people that care about their product. Also lots of cool coal mining memorabilia. read more

Great pizza, very tasty! Highly recommend the steak and cheese hoagie. Ranks in my top 5 in the area. I was highly surprised how great it was.....loaded with shaved meat and plenty of cheese! This is the Old Forge style pizza I grew up eating and I love it. I think some of the reviewers who had a bad experience expected NY style and this is not that! My family and I were driving through Moscow and decided to try Ferri's. I was super-excited to find out that it's run by the same family who ran the one in Dunmore for years. I was even happier that the pizza tasted exactly the same as it did when I was a kid. The staff was very friendly and talked with us for quite a while. Six stars! read more

I love the Old Forge Pizza. Great place to take the kids. This past time we tried the Buffalo Wing Pizza and it was amazing. One of the more unusual restaurants around with all the collectors items from the coal mines. It's a little museum like. I'll drive here any time. read more

I am from Ohio, but my parents are from Moscow. I just came back for Thanksgiving and the first place we went was Ferri's. It is a unique pizza but is what I long for in Ohio and look forward to in family visits. I have been eating Ferri's for as long as I can remember and I hope to let my future children enjoy too. read more

Pizza is good but overpriced. They don't take debit or credit. Not even bills over 50! They need to modernize and lower their prices!
