Some days everyone's on top of things and I'm in and out in less than 30 min. Other days, it seems like everyone's off their game and it takes an hour to get out of there. In the past I've had issues getting my insurance updated. It would take a couple visits or calls to remind them to update my info. There process and system is out dated in comparison to other doctor's my family sees. Such as prescriptions are still manually handed to you instead of directly sent to your pharmacy. Every single meeting with him since has been that way, an actual discussion about my health and not just a "Hmm, sounds like you have this issue, here's a drug for it now get out" conversation like so many other doctors do. When I get blood work done he goes over each reading line by line and explains what they are and what they mean, and how we could manipulate them to get in range if they're not right. He plays it safe with medications and treatments, opting for the minimum required and going up from there. He also listens to my own recommendations and requests and if they're not outrageous he orders them up. If you are in need of a new doctor, Dr. Scott Newman is the one to see. Yelp has incorrect info for his location. He recently started practicing at Marque Urgent Care in Newport Beach and Rancho Santa Margarita. UrgentCare3D/Urgent Med shut down completely and he does not work for them any more.

If you are a new patient, most the pre-screening information is collected on the phone so there are no forms to fill out when you arrive. I arrived about 30-minutes early to my appointment and they took me early. I met with Dr. Chan and he was incredibly gracious, kind, and informative. Knowing I was a new patient, he asked all the right questions to understand my medical history and offered really great advice for my current stage in life. He really spent the time to get to know me and was very patient, personable, and gentle. Great bedside manners and very clear and concise in his advice. I was out the door in about an hour -- very easy process. I'm so glad I found a great office and a new PCP. Hoping I can now be more consistent about coming in to get my annual exams knowing I found a great doctor!
