He's still an awesome doctor). I have been a patient of Dr. Malouf a little over two years now, after my work insurance changed & then after being laid off while on leave after being injured. Luckily I was able to carry him over and am blessed to still be able to see him. I still thank my aunt who used to be an RN and had worked the same hospital he had been at years ago for referring me to him. I am not a fan of going to the doctors, AT ALL! Especially, after finding out online, after a year, seeing my previous one, that my most recent nd long term doctor was on probation and how he pretty much decided after taking cash for services, that he was no longer going to handle my care, in the middle of it. With zero warning. Even though I was still technically under his care. This is where a good doctor definitely outshines a crappy doctor! Dr. Malouf on the other hand, has been nothing but patient, accessible, kind and friendly, which for me, means the world. Some of us have a very hard time talking about our health and vulnerabilities. While he will take the time to listen, he will also give pretty sound advice and recommendations if needed. He will treat you with respect. His office staff is great. There are times they are overbooked or busy and you might be rushed through or asked to follow up with another appointment for any secondary diagnosis due to work load, but that doesn't mean he will not follow up, nor respond to your calls or messages. He is the first doctor I have ever had that didn't make me wait a week or more for an answer to a question or concern or for important paperwork to be handled. If I needed a form filled out or anything else, he or another doctor in the group he is with at my home location were quick to help out if he were not available to do it himself. I come here since it's the closest clinic to where I live that is also linked to St. Joseph. I like my doctor Dr. Hien Nguyen. When I come to be checked for my overall well-being, she's pretty thorough in asking questions and checking me and any symptoms. She's calm and easy-to-approach. Staff is nice and respectful, too btw. My problem is the waiting time. It's better to come at the time you're told in the text message, not earlier. I was seen by my doctor 30 minutes after the actual appointment time and had to wait for the nurse to come back in the room for my paperwork for 5-10 minutes. This is the longest wait time I've had for an appointment. read more

i made the first call on 10/02/25 to obtain a new cpap machine for my mom who has severe sleep apnea. i specifically asked if she needed an appt. they said they would pass on the message and if she did, we would be called. i called again a week later to follow up on the initial request, they told me to call the referrals dept. so i called the referrals dept and was told to wait 2wks for the referral to go through. i waited 20 days to give them time and see if they would call me back. when i called again, i was told that she didn't need authorization with her insurance and that i needed to call the office back to send over the order to a vendor. after so much going back and forth and requesting to speak to a supervisor, clarissa finally called me back saying she would handle the order for the cpap. that was on october 29,2025. later that day clarissa calls back and states that my mom needed to be seen as apria required a form. i ask her to call my mom as i was at work. she failed to call her as she said she would. my mom ended up calling herself. makes an appt and was told to be there oct 30 or 31st. she received a letter from apria that they were still waiting for the office to send over the required paperwork. i called the office again on 11/14/25 and spoke with alex. i requested to speak directly to a supervisor because at this point it's over a month almost 2 and yet no one has done anything. it's now 11/23 and i have yet to hear back from anyone at that office with what is going on. i hope this review gets to the right person and is able to help us here. at this point i'm getting ready to call her insurance directly and see if they can figure out what the hold up is. completely unacceptable and poor patient care! so much for clarissa stating that she would handle this issue until my mom got the machine. well, we are still waiting as it is today 11.23.25. read more

For more than 15 years, I have seen Dr. Michael Malouf for everything from: Basic Annual Exams to Broken Heart Syndrome... ADHD to E-DS (Ehler's - Danlo's Syndrome). Neither of which he was familiar with, before I became a patient at La Amistad... I like to keep his Medical brain's interest peaked. So through the years, along with the above mentioned maladies, he's had to deal with: "Record-Breaking (Sized) Kidney Stones. (I passed it/ them, At Home, with only OTC pain relievers!) ; Fibromyalgia; "Caregivers' Bumps" (Yep. That's the technical term.) "...it's like 'Surfers Knee' calluses, only on a Caregiver's hands. (Mostly) It comes from pushing & lifting a lot of (occupied &/or loaded!) wheelchairs". PTSD: This was pre-COVID-19. Most of you are now aware: It's not 'just' for 'soldiers', anymore! PMDD: (Pre-Menstrual {I like to say 'Dysfunction'.} Dysphoric Disorder.) Think of it as Severe PMS. (From. Hell!) Seriously. "Legally Homicidal for 3-7 days out of every month!" BEFORE your period! I was actually a lot nicer {Like Dr. Jekyll ‍ vs ‍ Mrs. Hyde} during my "Moon Days", than the week prior! "Unknown Allergic Reaction" + "Severe Dehydration", that hospitalized me for a week. (Dehydration is Wā-āy! More Common, & Serious than you think!) COVID-19 Reactions... ...Now we're dealing with a Pancreatic 'System' disorder of some sort... This used to be a great place to be seen but in my opinion not anymore. I recently got sick and was advised by a Dr at this office to stop taking my regular med and only take the new meds they prescribed. Now months later I'm still sick. The dr I just spoke to today 7/11/23 said I should have never stop taking my regular medicine because I need it and that the new medication that was prescribed was just for a infection. So now I'm worse off because I stopped my regular meds and followed the dr directions. Now they want me to go see another dr because they said I will now need to be on meds for the rest of my life. I did what I was told by the drs at this office and now I'm worse off. I will be looking for a new dr office to go to and maybe a lawyer as well. We go to drs so they can help us that's not what I got here. Update: I just got off the phone with a Providence representative and I was advised by them to get a second opinion on the treatment I received from this office. read more

Having relocated recently, I was looking to establish PCP care and chose Dr. Malouf based on a handful of positive reviews. Yes, he was friendly, but he definitely did NOT take the time to make sure he understood my medical history. Maybe it was my fault for making an appointment on a Friday afternoon, but he seemed like he just wanted to get me out of there so he could start his weekend... or something. I told him I was a smoker, and he said he wasn't going to lecture me on quitting smoking, for some reason. And he didn't. Huh? I actually am looking to quit. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought it was the doctor's duty to lecture in order to improve the health of the patient. It made him seem rather apathetic towards my health. He ordered blood work for me to check my cholesterol, and I asked him if I needed to fast for it, and he seemed like he wasn't sure. He said if I had eaten something it would only affect my triglycerides. Well, I'm pretty sure getting an accurate triglyceride count is important, being a predictor of things like heart disease. I just didn't get a great first impression of this guy. Maybe I just caught him on the wrong day. I'm used to more devoted and thorough care from my PCPs. read more

I can't even get anyone in the office to return my call on a freaking prescription for 8 days now, all calls go to a call center and they forward msgs only, it's horrible if you need your medicine read more

Dr. Malouf is an excellent family physician. He is able to explain illnesses and solutions to me in plain English. He has a very friendly and professional staff. His office is newly built and all the records are computerized. This allows him to quickly pull up my history and discuss my progress in seconds. I finally has a chance to write a review about my favorite doctor. I'm a big fan of Dr. Malouf. Actually, my entire family including my husband and my two kids are. With new insurance policy about 3 years ago, I didn't pick pediatrician as PCP for our kids yet, so temporarily they were with Dr. Malouf. The kids met him once and since then they didn't want to switch so he became our entire family's PCP. Great doctor, wonderful human being that I ever known. He always goes above and beyond to find out what going on even spending an hour to listen to what I experienced with other specialist and the outcome even it's not his alley. The specialists not always help since they are too busy and so I had so short meets. Dr. Malouf got leg surgery about 2 years ago, we temporarily went with other doctor, trust me not as good. So glad he was back. I hope he stays well and healthy forever so our family have someone to lean on during our not-well time. read more

I recently visited Dr. Malouf for a routine physical exam. It was my first visit wth him cause I just changed insurance plans. My first impression of the Dr. was he's very knowledgable and friendly. I'm the type of patient that comes in with a written out list, so I don't forget any questions to ask, Especially since most doctors barely give you much time to answer any of your questions. This is definitely not the case with Dr. Malouf! He was very patient with my list of questions and even looked at it with me! :) The more impressive part about the doctor was the post visit. As a routine exam I got all my blood work done, and the staff is very good at getting back to you with results. One of my tests came back abnormally high and the doctor personally called me to put me at ease that it was most likely a lab error "false positive." Either way I was concerned, so I immediately took another blood test once I got the paper work in the mail. It was on a Friday afternoon and I was assuming to hear back probably by early the following week. Not the case at all...Dr. Messaged me that my results were as suspected, perfectly fine. That definitely made for a much more enjoyable weekend. It's so hard to find a good doctor these days, One who is knowledgable, kind, patient, and really cares. I feel Dr. Malouf is a wonderful doctor and I'm so glad to have found him...will definitely be going back as a regular patient. read more

Big fan of Dr. Malouf, we have been seeing him for years. Even though we have moved, we drive to see him. He is a man who gets things done whether it's a federal that's needed, info on a prescription, or a surgery that needs to be scheduled.
