This was my first visit here ever. It's in East Ridge, TN. My experience? Great service - Great Food and Great Place. Yes, that just about sums it up for this restaurant. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and seated near the front entrance. I highly recommend getting their buffet here. While, you are at it, ask for the 10 percent discount you get just for checking in here using the Yelp App. I see others were charged $7.99 for their buffet but I was charged $8.99. Maybe they have gone up on their prices or dinner buffet is one dollar more. Anyway, as you walk in, bathrooms are up front. So, you can wash your hands before you enter the restaurant. How cool is that. As you open the second inside door, you will see 3 bars in the back. One is a salad/soup bar, one is a pizza bar and the other is of course the hot bar which is the most popular. After choosing my buffet items I sat down and my waiter asked if I wanted any bread. So, I got their cornbread which was excellent. You can get a salad along with desert too here. Both, were delicious and the buffet items I chose really had Fernando's hitting a "home run" with me. They also kept my drink full at all times while I was dining in here. Their cornbread was soft and delicious. Their spaghetti tasted great just like mama makes. Oh and I can't believe I was able to get sweet potato casserole with marshmallows here. It's worth coming here just to get that. In summary, I will definitely come back one day. I parked in the back which is what I recommend. Don't forget to ask for the ten percent discount just for checking in on Yelp when you leave. Final thoughts: I don't know why there are a hand full of bad reviews. The food was great. In fact, I wish there was a Fernando's close to where I live. I'd be a regular. I saw nothing wrong. I mean everyone was nice and friendly to me including the hostess who is also the cashier. So, congratulations on a 5 star review.

We decided to try this place out instead of going to Cracker Barrel, but we should have just gone there instead. Slow service, and once the food came out it was all just barely warm. Pancakes were inedible, but the skillet was pretty good, would have been much better hot. The portion sizes were big.

this is Fernando's version of French Toast???? Three slices of dry white toast??? I kid you NOT

Worst French toast EVER!!!!!!! Three slices of DRY WHITE TOAST. Fernando's PLEASE hire a real chef/cook. I laughed for twenty whole minutes after opening this (delivered by Door Dash). If you don't know how to make simple French toast, get the heck out the kitchen. If I could score less than one star I would.

We had the misfortune to eat at Fernando's Sunday evening about 4:00 pm, 5/22/22. I had the buffet and it was good. My wife ordered a Hamburger and fries. After 45 minutes, my wife hadn't received her food. I complained to our waitress (after I was able to make interrupt her from fraternizing with her coworkers). Apparently, our inept waitress didn't turn in my wife's food order. My wife didn't receive her food for over an hour after she ordered it! Also, I had to trail down employees to get condiments. No refills on our drinks until we were ready to leave! Fernando, please pay more attention to your business. Our waitress needs to be fired! You can locate my check because they took 48 cents off because our food too long. See

I have yet to actually eat in the restaurant. I've ordered a few times from Wait'rd or GrubHub. I love that I can get breakfast delivered when I just don't feel like going out on a weekend morning. The food comes pretty quickly and the pancakes and potatoes are good. I ordered poached eggs once, but wouldn't do that again. By the time they got to me, they had pretty much steamed cooked to hard steamed eggs. Not their fault. I've even ordered oatmeal and it was just perfectly comforting. Dinner as been hit or miss. They gyro was really good, but the meatloaf was not. Mashed potatoes are yummy and plentiful. You can get a typical meat and three here. My understanding is that it is owned by someone who also partially owned Family Table, which was a staple with me and my ex a few years ago. It is comfort food, for sure.

We went on a Monday night and it was pretty crowded but we were seated quickly. They give each table a big plate of bread with butter, which was delicious and a nice treat. I ordered the arancini to start with. I love arancini, and so many restaurants in Atlanta put meat in them. These were SO good, maybe my favorite arancini that I've had recently. Good ratio of risotto to cheese and nice and crispy. The sauce that came with them was really good too. I wish you got more for the cost, but it was comparable to every restaurant. I ordered the Pomodoro al Vegetariana but subbed penne for the spaghetti (just not a fan lol). The pasta was really good and perfectly cooked. The sauce was maybe a little too garlicky? There was a good ratio of pasta to veggies. I don't like mushrooms but they blended in enough that I could eat them. My gf got the Penne Toscana because she's allergic to garlic, so this was one of the few things she could eat. (Side note, one of the other local Italian restaurants we called basically said there was nothing she'd be able to eat there.) Some of the artichoke pieces were really chewy and the dish was very oily, otherwise she enjoyed it. The inside is very nice, cozy and not stuffy. Our waitress was super sweet.

Showed up about 8:30 PM, had to wait for a table because the place was so incredibly dirty. The whole place looks "worn out"and little remains of its once elegant demeanor. The wait staff was young and more interested in horsing around with each other than taking care of diners. Paid $12 for 4 ounces of a very sour (!) Prosecco with a squirt of blackberry syrup at the bottom, but no straw to get to it. The fried raviolis were just cheese-filled and tasted of old oil. The salad contest consisted of whole leaves of iceberg lettuce, four slices of beets and six garbanzos. (This is for two people.) the salad dressing tasted of nothing but oil. The garlic rolls, for which I had raved to my wife, came out hard cold and stale. I ate a couple anyway thinking that the next batch would be fresh, but was told when I asked for more that they were "out." Since this was formerly a highlight of the Provino's experience this hit hard. My wife's entrée tasted burnt as as the only flavor and she refused to eat it. My eggplant Parmesan was cold inside and gelatinous, although the plate was warm. I suppose this Restaurant has suffered the same fate as Portofinos and the Acropolis; started by a family who is no longer involved and is now run by people who don't particularly care. I did not say anything due to the second reason. Server didn't seem to be too keen on giving us top notch service. We have taken note that when we are a table of four, they always give us the rundown of the nightly specials. In. Great. Detail. Every time it is just the Husband and I? Nada. Nothing. Not even an introduction by the server this time. It's not the same server either. Happens with whomever we have. Seems to be something that they need to work on at this restaurant. We love this place! Watchman (our server) did a great job when it came to serving the food. But I should not have to ask about the specials nor ask for his name. We always tip more than expected, but when will servers learn that going above and beyond will get them above and beyond the expected tip? Hopefully something changes before our next visit to Chattanooga.

2 Star -- My Lawyer Friend and I Are Considering This a Chargeable Offense…read moreIn the legal world, there's a concept called "misrepresentation." My attorney dining companion will tell you it applies here. I've eaten lasagna on three continents. I've never once feared it. Until now. What arrived at our table was, generously speaking, a flat pancake wearing a cheese disguise -- topped with shredded beef that seemed just as confused about its life choices as the chef who plated it. Green? Green. I didn't order a lawn clipping casserole. I ordered lasagna -- the cornerstone dish, the anchor of any Italian menu worth its salt (of which this dish also needed more). Lasagna is not a canvas for creativity. It is a covenant. A sacred agreement between a restaurant and its guests that says: we know what we're doing here. This dish broke that covenant, shredded it, and apparently used it as a garnish. My recommendation? Locate the nearest Italian grandmother. Apologize to her. Take notes. Start over.

Walking in feels less like entering a restaurant and more like being invited over by the Italian neighbor who cooks too much food and doesn't mind if you stay awhile. Cozy rooms, a relaxed buzz of conversation, and a staff that is genuinely friendly and helpful. I went with the build your own pasta. Linguine, bolognese, and meatballs. The waitress suggested getting it baked, which sounded like the culinary equivalent of "trust me on this," so I did. Good call. It came out bubbling, cheesy, and comforting in that perfect pasta way. The bolognese was good but a little polite. It could have used a little more pop. The meatballs, though, clearly had Italian sausage in the mix and they sang. Big flavor and a nice texture. Then dessert showed up. The Italian cake quietly stole the entire meal. Light but firm cake, a beautiful nutty flavor, and just the right amount of crème filling holding it together. One bite in and it was obvious. I came for the pasta. The cake stole the whole show. Quick tip. Be patient when hunting for parking. You might have to park across the bridge and walk a bit. Honestly that walk will burn about 25 of the calories you are about to put right back on. Four stars. Go for the pasta, enjoy the charm, and absolutely do not skip the cake. It's worth the walk.
