This small restaurant at the intersection of Uriate and Nicaragua is approximately one year old. Chef/owner Juan Manuel Sabatino Arias has created something special for diners in this part of Palermo. My starter was a phyllo pastry pocket filled with a savory mix of veggies, tomatoes, and onions. To counter the slight acidity of the tomatoes in the filling, the pastry had a small drizzle of honey. This created a perfect balance for the field greens underneath. One of my fellow diners had a special starter: four whole prawns with basil olive oil. It was a "great flavor experience" according to him. For my main, I ordered agnolotti pasta which was filled with a cheese/greens mixture and presented with a creamy cheese sauce. The pasta had a little bite to it, just perfect. My dining companion remarked to Chef Juan that he had been dissatisfied with the gnocchi he had experienced on this trip to Buenos Aires. Chef Juan took up the challenge and did not disappoint. First rate. We asked for a wine suggestion and went with a merlot. It worked well with the well-seasoned dishes before us. Ask about the desserts. It is a short list but worth considering.
Service was attentive without being fussy. We were treated like we were from the neighborhood. read more
