After Roland our fantastic driver mentioned it's popularity ,Lulu, after checking the menu was GUNG HO! So we toddled over taking an extended fruit stop for cherries etc to stave off Tajo's hunger. On arrival the 2 wines I ordered were out of stock but the Luigi Borsa white wine blend they subbed was good enough to change the order from a glass to a bottle ($50,000 ARS) The mixed bread platter soon arrived as I marveled over the towel like napkins the biggest ever! After our starters of Potato Varniki for Tajo (6) we got Zhoug ...great!(10) and Wagu steak bites (7) with a chutney like condiment...meat very rare but not that beefy. Then we ordered the entrees...Seafood Farfalaj & Farm Chicken. So we waited.......& waited............& waited...........until it got so late we had to box our orders for home to put Tajo to bed .. This reminded us for the 30 minutes it took the guy at the fruit stand to pick out the cherries, wash & polish them before finally finishing the transaction...very typical of the "Portenos" (or people of the port) & their lackadaisical attitude with speedy service being from Buenos Aires When we got back to our nicely appointed AirBnb to eat, the rumor that this place was Michelin rated did not hold up to that level for us ....good..... but not sublime ...........................................maybe try again next year?

Personally I found Mishiguene to be very underwhelming, some of the food is so fresh, simple, and delicious (like the hummus). Other items, like many of the main dishes, were bland and everything seemed to be a little potato heavy. The bread was very good though, but the service was slow yet friendly. The ambiance is also very nice, but there are much better restaurants in Buenos Aires that I would personally try over Mishiguene (like Elena or Don Julio).

I have high standards coming from Israel, and my friends who aren't Israeli recommended this restaurant, so I know it's hard to meet my standards (I have only found a few Israeli restaurants I've really enjoyed in the states). Still I don't think Mishiguene is worth the cost. Nothing was outright bad here, but for the price and the hype of this restaurant, I expected more. The service was spectacular at mishiguene, the vibes were exquisite and every dish was plated beautifully, but the dishes themselves weren't great. Here's what I ordered with my thoughts: *Breads- fine but nothing special. The bagel was not a Jerusalem bagel, and the pita was average. I liked the challah slices here with raisins! *babaganoush- did not taste like babaganoush (and not in an elevated way). Was edible but a bit sour? *beba ganoush cocktail- like a Mediterranean Bloody Mary. Pretty but nothing special taste wise *fatoush verde- this was wonderful and very interesting, I loved the melon! *Kibbeh veggie- was more like a burgul salad then a kibbeh, but tasty *dark chocolate tahini tart- very bitter

Traditional Jewish food with Argentinian flare. Wonderful service (Servers can speak English- no English menu) and incredible, unique food! We spent ~$160-170 USD and could barely finish half our meal! Definitely recommend sharing plates! The Pastron (pastrami brisket over potato latkes with caramelized onion and egg) was TO DIE FOR! **make a reservation vs. walk in dining!

Amazing food. By the far the best food I had on my trip to Argentina. A very creative twist on middle eastern cuisine. A must try.

Hummus/Pita - this was complimentary and the first place, after eating at 30 restaurants in BA where the bread came out warm! Shawarma - I had over 3-4 shawarmas in BA and the shawarma here was the best one, if not the only good one I had. There is flavor in the shawarma sauce and the bits of pickle add complexity. Bife de chorizo / Grilled Beef - the sirloin steak was cooked exactly how we asked, medium rare. The accompanying fries were crispy and topped with paprika I think. Mixed Grill - consisted of shish tawouk, shish kebab and chicken kebab served with a dip of hummus, pita and french fries. The shish kebab was moist and had a smoky flavor, it was my favorite. The owner spoke to us at great length during our meal and after our meal. He told us his story of coming to Argentina as a trained chef. It is his intention to serve zabiha food to people of BA and tourists like us! Baklava - he offered us complimentary baklava which was sweet like the baklava. No exaggeration at all, this was the best baklava I ever had. It wasn't messy to eat and each layer stood on its own. The top layer was thick and crispy at the same time, not sure what phyllo dough is used but what a well done baklava. ALSO - the menu has such variety. They have burgers, shawarmas, steaks, grilled salmon, quesadillas, sandwiches, salads and wraps, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Four of us ventured into Benaim on Saturday evening. The operation is not immediately clear from…read morethe front entrance. There is a food truck near the entrance that serves beverages, but you have to wander back a ways to the kitchen and ordering/pick-up station. First impressions, ambiance and operational description: 2 stars ---- The place is very linear and extends quite far back. ---- There is nobody who greets you. ---- The ambiance is sort of like a German beer hall, but accommodated in an Argentine house. Kind of quirky. ---- There is outdoor seating along the right side, under cover of a canopy and there is indoor seating on the left. Seating amounts to long picnic tables and benches, so you end up sharing your table with others, which is perfectly fine, except groups of either 2 or 4 occupy a spot, leaving only room enough for two. Needless to say, most parties are 4 or 6, leaving everyone a bit frustrated and having to shift around so others can squeeze in and get seated. ----The place to order and pick up your food is a ways back from the front. Once you arrive in this incredibly bright space it's not clear/intuitive who is supposed to take your order. (It's the person you face as you walk into the space.) There are no servers. ---- The menu is located up rather high, above and behind a series of blinding lights that make looking at the menu uncomfortable. Also, it's not behind the person from whom you order, but over the kitchen, which makes it confusing as to whom you are to give your order. ---- You pay the for your food (not your drinks) at the time you order it and they give you a claim check and a receipt. They tell you to return to pick up your food in 10 minutes. ----This arrangement is a bit crazy because the counter is filled with plates of food waiting to be picked up and the room is packed with people staring and the menu and ordering food AND other people trying to get through to grab their food. Then those people have to negotiate their way through the crowd to get out of the room and too their tables. It's chaotic and poorly thought out. Or should I say, not thought out. ---- Once you have ordered/paid, you trek back to the food truck at the front to buy your drinks and then search for a table. The place gets incredible crowded. I saw several people sitting on the floor, next to full tables, because there wasn't enough seating for their entire party. ---- Once were were finished, it wasn't clear whether you are supposed to leave your trash on the table or if they clean up after you. Finding no place to deposit the plates and trash, we left them behind, which made me wonder what the next group would do, being faced with our pile of trash. The food: 2 stars From what we could determine, the menu is limited to sandwiches, but a large variety, and french fries. I ordered pastrami with everything that they offer to put on it. The pastrami is nothing like that which we're accustomed to Chicago or New York. It's not peppered, not thinly sliced. The flavor of the pastrami was perfectly fine, but it's thickly sliced and on a thick onion bun that had the texture of Wonder Bread. The others in my party all liked their sandwiches, but we all had the same complaints: The sandwiches, which are supposed to be hot, were cold, as were the seasoned french fries. Personally, I think they should be embarrassed serving food in this way. The service: Other than interacting with the people taking orders/payment, there is no service. The price is reasonable, but they need to impose some sort of rational organization/flow; overcome the frustrating seating issues; and, for cryin' out loud, serve the food hot.
