Yes I played it safe and ordered things that you can get in the states but the tabula was done well. The hummus was the best I ever had, not some Trader Joe's shit. I then got Carne en Fierro (beef on skewer). I was thinking some small cuts of beef on a skewer. No, they deadass gave me a big ass steak marinated like if it was going on a skewer. The steak was better than one from a steakhouse I got here. The place hasn't blown up yet with tourists, but a favorite for Palermo residents.

The falafel was dense and rich and came with some tahini that I could probably put on a cake since it was so delicious. The shawarma cut finely, covered in some delicious dressing, and had that nice little char it gets from roasting on the spit. The bit of pita to clean up afterwards was just an additional bonus. The gentleman who helped me was friendly and patient with my horrible Spanish. I could not be happier with this meal and will probably go back several times while I'm down here.

I secured a reservation for my wife and I and was not disappointed. Situated in a neighborhood not unlike Surfside in Miami, this so-called Mediterranean restaurant exceeded all my expectations. From the greeting we received upon entering; to our server, Mariano, explaining portion sizes as well as the many dishes in which my wife could order or that the sous chef could alter due to allergies; to the suggested wines that may accompany our order. I had my heart set on BABA GANOUSH appetizer and PASTRAMIED RACK OF BEEF- their signature dish; the Baba Ganoush had tomato in it so that was out for Edna but another eggplant dish was substituted and it was just what the doctor ordered. The Pastrami preparation I opted for was not available but the PASTRAMI WELLINGTON: Beef Short Rib Pastrami, Mushroom Duxelles, Swiss Chard and Dijon Mustard; Served with Date Demi-Glace and Assorted Peppercorns, I eventually ordered was to die for. Edna opted for the fish of the day which was MULLET in a fine sauce made with Pastis. For dessert, I wanted something different and we got it: PUMPKIN, BLUE CHEESE AND MISO consisting of nixtamalized Pumpkin, Blue Cheese Mousse and Pumpkin Tofee with Miso. it was a small portion but it was delicious. A few words about the ambiance: the inside was beautifully decorated; the lamps hung in a low glow to accentuate the dark wood walls; the Michelin certificates proudly hung in a discreet spot; an outdoor section had been assembled to accommodate the throngs of diners as the interior is on the small size. Geez, it was only a Monday night!

Extra order of pride with a side of inordinate wait times. ***Not recommended***…read more After two hours at the venue, all we had received were the appetizers. The waiter didn't seek information about the deal that was made with our group, so she tried to forcefully oversell the table. Because we asked for the agreed-upon deal, the staff proceeded to make our section of the table wait while serving the full meal to other sections. When asked about the situation, was told I was the problem and that I just had to be patient (at the two hours mark, mind you). Owner was on site and aware of the situation, but chose to wait until we were ready to leave and then refused to even speak and address the issues. Eventually got the mains staggered with a bonus: most were cold on top! (despite assurances that they had just been prepared) Water was not served until the very end when we asked for the nth time. The heat in the restaurant was a killer - as if the one air conditioning unit was to suffice by the working kitchen. Left soaked. Very bad experience overall. Won't be back. Certainly won't recommend to anyone I like.

The menu offers shawarma in both beef and chicken, but at least the day I was there only beef was available, and they only have one rotisserie spit.... Heavily meat packed, with a bit of lettuce and onion, an automatic offer of hot sauce, which was a nice touch, along with the yogurt sauce. Nicely spiced, the beef quite tender and just lightly charred on the edges - though much of that may be due to the steady stream of shawarma being ordered, there's little time for the surface to get that really nice char. Friendly service. They need to give napkins out with the food, one shouldn't have to ask, and they shouldn't have to search. Overall, rather good! I'd grab another one if I was nearby.
