Being out of state, we used Yelp and read good things. Pricing wise, they were not the cheapest, but there is a reason. FireTec was super communicative on what we are to expect, and super responsive to questions. They called to confirm the day of appointment, and showed up on time, masks on, shoe covers, and armful of floor pads and coverings (more on this later. The tech came and was friendly, respectful of the COVID situation, and careful with our home. Every fireplace they worked on was meticulously prepared and protected to ensure no damage or dirt would get on our floor. During the visit, they even updated me on findings as they went along and also how they were going to charge me less than estimated as certain chimneys did not require the level of inspection requested or originally thought to be needed. At the end, 3 of our gas inserts needed new control modules as the batteries leaked and damaged the units. They showed me the issue and again were transparent on what was needed. Now, I could leave the review as is, but this is what going above call of service means. The tech, bothered with a small finding in the video inspection, called me back after he left asking if he could come back and recheck one of our chimney. I am glad he did, as he discovered that one of our fireplaces was blocked off by previous owner, and it was not safe to be used. Being a father with 2 kids in the house, this is the kind of service expected. FireTec ordered the new gas inserts control modules and called me much earlier than the scheduled appointment asking if I was available to get the gas inserts fixed with the new control modules. Apparently their tech was freed up and available. Fast forward, our fireplaces are clean, inspected for safety, and gas inserts working as expected. And as if that wasn't enough, they send a thank you card. This is how you are customer centric. It's hard, but not impossible!

We worked directly with the manufacturer in AZ as instructed who sent all replacement parts to the Fireplace & Patio Place to fix this brand-new unit, which was under warranty. However, the Fireplace & Patio place refused to send their service to help until I agreed to pay an additional $240 to have them come. I had no choice but to pay for the service call to get the unit working - they refused to schedule the service until I agreed to pay. Not once did they contact the manufacturer and try to make this right with me - the customer. They had no problem taking my $4600 when they sold it to me, but showed zero support or effort to make this right for me when it didn't work. I spent hours/days going between them & the manufacturer and am still waiting to be reimbursed for the service call by the manufacturer as they promised. Also, when they sold me this unit, they sold me a log kit for $300+ that didn't even fit the fireplace unit so I had to drive back and return the logs, which they did refund me for. I will never return to this store nor would I recommend to others.. it was a really bad experience on several levels and a big waste of much of my time. They are an ISA-certified member and employ their own in-house arborist. My friend had previously hired Adler & Sons to prune her trees, and she highly recommended them for my trees. On the business's website, I filled out a form to ask for an estimate to trim my few trees. A few days later, a very courteous employee visited my property to view the trees and to give an estimate. The cost to trim, thin, shape, and deadwood my 3.5 trees (one tree is on a property line) and to haul away debris was $1,000. Of course, the cost to trim other customers' trees would vary based on the size and condition of the trees, any nearby structures, the season of year, etcetera. A couple of weeks later, workers arrived at my property to perform the work. They spoke to me very courteously. They parked one of their trucks on top of protective pads in my driveway. Two other trucks were parked in the street. For over two hours, the employees used saws and a bucket truck to trim dead branches off my trees, and they used rakes to clean debris off the ground. Now my trees and yard look great. I now consider Adler & Sons to be my #1 tree company, and I highly recommend that other people hire them. Please note that this business also sells its mulch, filter-sock and other compost, sawdust, screened topsoil, and aggregates such as gravel, limestone, and crushed concrete.
