My old house what a shonda The previous owner had put up a dropped ceiling in two rooms they were hideous and under them were cracked plaster ceilings Cracks are ugly dropped ceilings are ugly cracked plaster walls are ugly and sad looking What does one do? Plastering is truly an art I called around some folks said well that's wallpaper up on that ceiling to hide those cracks. The others that looked at the job did not seem to fully understand I wanted it to look good. When it comes to plaster and restoration you want a pro ... Bob actually called me back Gave me a date and time and called the day before to check in He showed up when he said he would Surveyed the situation His plan was plaster those ceilings told me exactly what his team would do I was so impressed I said look at my horrible bathroom walls and ceiling he gave me a plan A few weeks later his team showed up as promised With their drop clothes, scaffolds stilts and plaster they got to work these guys are truly craftsman Bob came in on the last day of the 3 day job I'm still in awe of how stunning these ceilings look not to mention the beautiful bathroom walls. The cost was worth every penny

Hole in the plaster ceiling before repairs.

My wife and I were very pleased by the plaster work that was performed in our home by Robert Dell'aquilla Plastering.

This is the second time my wife and I have used Pittsburgh Home Improvements and are extremely happy with the results. I have to say we can not be happier with the work tony does. If you look at some of my pictures of before and after you will be amazed. Plastering is an art and Tony has it locked down. His prices are fair and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and will definitely be using him again. Pittsburgh Home improvements does a lot more than just plastering but they do specialize in that. Tony does any and all home repairs including painting and remodelling. If you are in need of the best plasterer then definitely give Tony the owner a call as you will not be sorry.

The material they used left a 3 foot brown mark on the front of our house, which they assured us would either go away on it's own or the would come back to take care of it. Well it never went away, and it's an eye-sore to this day. I spent a lot of time out on the roof scrubbing away at it with a wire brush, but it's still there. I've texted and called and left several messages for these guys over the past month or so, which have been totally IGNORED. Who does that? Totally unprofessional. You guys told us you would take care of it and to follow up with us, and when we do, you ignore us. So now I have to strongly urge that no one use you guys, and also go hire someone else who can take care of the mess that you made. Big thumbs down for unprofessionalism.

I have had varying results in that time, ranging from above expectations to well below them. Thomas (the owner of this business) is the new benchmark for everything you hope to avoid. Initially, he was very responsive -- happy to show pictures of prior work and present options for what was to be achieved in my project. One of the examples he presented appeared to be almost exactly what I had envisioned and I indicated I liked both the stamped concrete pattern and the color of the finished work, which was very dark grey -- nearly black. We proceeded with the project, but when I saw "the finished work," I noticed pretty swiftly that the color of the walkway was a tan-ish salmon color. Additionally, the pattern of the stamped concrete was nowhere close to what I agreed to. So, an entirely different walkway than what I had been seeking. I am more than agreeable when it comes to situations like this, almost to a fault. I will actively allow mistakes or miscommunication to go unchecked and work with someone to achieve the closest thing to the goal as possible. As such, I'm not rude (or even stern, usually) with those I've hired. I explained that the walkway was not what I had asked for. I indicated that I could make my peace with the pattern if the color was more in line with what I wanted. He advised he would "take care of it." In the days to come, he put some dye on the walkway to cover up the mistake; though, the pinkish color continued to show throughout the walkway no matter how much extra dye he put on it, which I now know would continue to wash away more and more in the coming months and almost none of the dye added to the finished walkway would retain. It is, generally speaking, back to being nearly its initial color in its entirety. I messaged him with requests to find a resolution (maybe once a week as to not be a burden) and these messages were all ignored. Eventually, after painstaking efforts, I took him to court. He did not show up. I won by default and now have a lien on his business. He left filthy, used tools on the property. He did not place any ground back around the walkway and left it clumped up throughout the yard. The steps themselves are crooked. He created a huge stain from the concrete dye on the retaining wall and, somehow, the mailbox. I could write pages on pages elaborating how much of a disaster this project was but this is my best effort to keep it concise. This experience with Thomas has changed my approach to how I deal with contractors moving forward. He was more than happy to scam his way through this entire job and made every effort to get out of it without standing by his work. If anyone reads this, I cannot urge you enough to vacate any arrangements you've made with him and seek assistance with your project(s) elsewhere.
