The best food i had while in Paris- My family and I spent 10 days in Paris in the last week of June 2014 and was very lucky and fortunate to get a table at Ferdi. I have heard so much about this restaurant and wanted to see what all the fuss was about and i was pleasantly surprised that it lived-up to the hype. we were a group of eight and we each had a different dish and was able sample on each others food. no one in the group had a bad dish, the wait staff was also amazing and had a great sense of humor. If you are in a rush, this restaurant is not for you as one of their motto " Good food is worth the wait". The best food i had in Paris hands down, followed by Restaurant L'Ardoise, just two doors away from Ferdi. read more

I didn't give Ferdi 5 stars because it is the most fabulous place to eat in Paris, I gave it 5 stars because it is charming and a place I would be EXTREMELY disappointed if I missed out on. It is a tiny hidden gem in Paris with a total of 10 tables in the whole place. The couple who runs it are behind the bar making their famous mojitos while dedicated waiters charm all the guests. Great burgers and mojitos in Paris! Yes, I know, not what you think of having when you're in this great city, but it's a favorite of mine for sure. This was my 2nd time to this lovely restaurant in 6 years and it hasn't changed. Service was excellent as was the food. My husband and I found it years ago, pre-Yelp days, after coming across a New York Times article reviewing Ferdi. It drew our attention so we gave it a go and were in total agreement with the food critics positive review. Ferdi is located in a great part of Paris, between Place Vendome and Tuileries. The best burger of my life! I don't know how I am going to go on living so far away. Also, the churros with hot chocolate were on point. I would recommend making a reservation here as the place is small and can filled up quickly. This is close to the Westin, where I am staying, and had good ratings so I decided to give it a try. I didn't even know about the Kardashian thing until I read Yelp. Booked a table through text, got a reply fairly quickly with an availability within the next hour. It was perfect. I got seated promptly and was provided the English menu. The server spoke English, which was much appreciated. I sometimes replied in French, but he insisted to talk in English. A bit condescending, but English it is. I ordered a medium cheeseburger with an egg and bacon based on glowing Yelp recommendations. It was a plain overcooked burger patty with very tasty bacon, nice cheese, and a perfectly cooked egg. It's one of those burgers that need a knife and fork. If you picked it up, it'll ooze over you. Other than the overlooked burger patty, overall it tasted good but, by no means great. I've had better burgers for sure. Was it worth the price? No. I also ordered churros that came with chocolate sauce. This was magical. Not greasy, and came out piping hot. I actually burned my tongue. Haha. But I would order this again. The service was appropriate, but nothing extraordinary. I was gonna leave a tip (since I'm an overtipping American), but for the appropriate service I received, I felt that the service charge included in the French price was also appropriate. Friendly staff and great food! Highly recommended... We were staying in the area found this place through the app. Stopped in without knowing it was their last night before the holiday break. Didn't have a reservation, but thankfully they had a table open between seatings. So glad they did, cause the food was awesome! Especially the chili con carné and the ceviché. Wish we could have tried the prawns, but they were sold out... maybe next time! Watch out for the desert soaked in liquor. So good! Ferdi has the best cheeseburger (you must also add bacon!)-hands down. As an American, I've had my fair share of burgers. Nothing compares in the States. This is a lively tight little space in one of the side streets of Paris. Reservations are highly recommended. It's Spanish tapas menu but they have a little bit of everything. I didn't know this was Kim K's favorite restaurant. They got us in at the last minute because we texted that we would take any cancellation that night. I'm pregnant and having a very hard time finding things I'm allowed to eat in Paris (can't wait to have a salad when I get home to the US). Ferdi had burgers and Mac and cheese that fit the bill (although, sadly, not very Parisian). Food was delicious. Service was rude (As an example, I asked for recommendations on the menu and the server shrugged- not a language issue, just didn't want to help). We had a late night reservation at Ferdi and it was definitely worth the wait! Coming from DC which has some of the best tapas restaurants in the US, we had to check out tapas in Paris . We had the picadillo which was so flavorful, especially with the coriander and other spices. The pork pinchos were amazing and the Spanish tortilla with the tomato bread just melted in my mouth. Highly recommend the Pachito cocktail as well! read more

TL;DR: Horrible, horrible service. Extremely rude management. Food doesn't make up for the behaviour. From the moment we walked in, it was a bad experience. I wish I'd left sooner. I went on a friend's recommendation and texted them for reservations (they only take reservations over text). I asked for a table for 2 and they told me they could seat me the next day at 7:30. When we show up, they have no record of our reservation. I show them the text thread. They apologize, find the reservation, but say they've made a mistake and the table is for 4, which they can't give to a party of 2. I again show them where I told them I said 2, and that this is their mistake. They reluctantly -- and rudely -- seat my friend and I. Based on other Yelp reviews, we decide to order the guacamole. About 15 minutes later, we see a disruption at the table nearby. It turns our our waiter accidentally delivered our guacamole to them, and they had started eating it before he realized his mistake. We overhear him being quite rude to the customers, asking them why they started eating it if they didn't order it. They say they thought it was a complimentary starter. He sneers at the poor couple, "nothing is free" and storms back to us, placing the guacamole and chips in front of us without comment as he storms back to the kitchen. When we get his attention, we let him know we did notice that someone else had been eating this before and we'd like a new one. He glares at us and removes it. Replacing it a few minutes later with a new one (or the same one re-plated, I have no confidence in the restaurant to have done the right thing). The guacamole was pretty bland. We get our mediocre mains without much incident (though he stubbornly argued with my friend that she was ordering the wrong wine with her meal. Suggestions are always welcome! Insulting someones taste is not) not awful but not worth wasting a meal on if you're on holiday in Paris when there are so many fantastic restaurants around. Then we order the churros for dessert. 30 minutes go by. 40. Our waiter keeps rushing by without acknowledging our table. Finally we flag him down and ask him about the churros. "I forgot to place the order with the kitchen." he states before turning around back to the kitchen. We tried to tell him we no longer wanted it after this wait - but he never returned, or acknowledged us calling after him. Another half hour he drops the churros on our table, not even stopping before running to hang out with other employees at the bar. We don't want them, we don't eat them. 5 minutes later we flag down the waiter, ask him to bring our bill. And tell him because of his error, we'd like the churros removed from our bill. He glares, swipes the churros away then comes back a few minutes later with the bill, telling us, "it's against our policy to remove things from the bill for timing. Good food takes time." I feel him taking the desert away is an implicit agreement to refund us. I tell him that if that is their policy, he should have stated that and at least let us enjoy the churros and I ask him to bring them back then if he's going to charge us for them. He tells me he threw them out, but he'd be happy to charge me for another order of churros. I ask again to have them removed, telling him I wasn't waiting for the chef to prepare good food. I'd wait for that. I was waiting for his mistake, since he forgot to put the order in. He tells me he'll have to ask the owner. The owner comes back with the receipt, without the churros. But he spends 5 minutes, face red, swearing and yelling at us in front of the restaurant. Telling us never to come back. Calling us cheap American tourists that can't afford 10 euros churros. Telling us to go back to America if we hate good food. I'm Canadian and my friend was British -- not that I'd be offended to be confused with an American, but I'm surprised he seems to have such a low opinion of them considering his restaurant's fame is largely due to having so many American celebrity clientele. I would never even consider going back. read more

The woman travels the world and has access to every restaurant you can think of - for her to single it out there had to be something to the hype. The staff: Amazing. Just down the street from Le Souffle, (our first choice) but was open on a Sunday night. You need a reservation, but we were able to squeeze in on a tiny little 2-top, squished against the wall in front of the bar. The waiter and staff were good, and very attentive. But of course we were only 25 inches from their hangout by the bar. My wife ordered enchiladas and I ordered a Spanish dish with a seasoned, minced meat and beans and rice. The portion sizes were small, the enchiladas consisted of two fajita tortillas with a meat and bean filling. No sauce. No chilies. My meat-paste was seasoned well and flavorful and the beans and rice were good. As we waited for our food (which was served very promptly) we watched the bartender make a Mojito. First he muddled a huge amount of mint into the glass. Then they added "hand crushed" ice. They took a piece of ice, held it in the palm of their hand, and hit it with the muddler until it was sufficiently crushed, then dumped it into the rocks glass, and repeated until the glass was full. The mint smelled great (did I mention we were inches away from the bar?) so my wife ordered the Mojito. Mistake. Too much mint. Way too much. Every drink involved pulling bits of bitter, crushed mint leaf from your teeth. That and thinking about how well the bartender washed his/her hands left us disappointed. We did hear the burgers were excellent, and seeing a few served, they did look good. But way overpriced. We probably won't be back. read more

My wife and I tried to get in here the night before but it was packed and the host told us to come back the next day for lunch because the place was basically booked for dinner for like the rest of the month. The restaurant serves lunch just once a week every Saturday from 1315-1630 where no reservations are needed and when we got there around 1pm there was already a line. It's a very small space with a lot of character and interesting decorations highlighted by stuffed animals and a toy car collection. We started off with the ceviche which was made perfectly with just the right amount of tart and fresh seafood and it came alone so we added some tortilla chips. Then we both had the cheeseburger or Le Mac Ferdi as they called it and added bacon and an egg. The burger was served open face the bun was a classic sesame seed bun with cheese melted perfectly on the top bun with crisp bacon. The egg was sunny side up and the yolk blended superbly with the secret sauce once you break it when you put the burger together. The meat was cooked to perfectly to medium as I requested it's one of those messy burgers you need a knife and fork to eat, but well worth it. Overall a great burger, but coming from Las Vegas and all of its foodie burger joints its comparable to Bachi Burger or Umami Burger. The fried banana plantains we had as a side dish were the highlight of my meal and we also tried the macaroni and cheese which was good also. read more
