    Arugula vinaigrette salad

Food was excellent to the last bite. Service was great also. I ordered a vinaigrette arugula salad, slices of tender beef with Japanese mushrooms and mashed potatoes, very well prepared and tasty. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come again. I paired my dinner with a glass of red wine from Samur Campainy. At the end I had their homemade sorbet that was excellent. I did not have a reservation when I came, but still they got me a quiet spot.

When I saw online that Cafe de Mar has live jazz on Saturdays at lunch, I knew my husband and I had to check this spot out together. We only got a few kid-free meals during our trip to Paris so we had to choose wisely, and this was definitely a memorable dining experience and the right choice. This small cafe sits on the corner of a quieter side street but was still super easy to find. We arrived around 3pm and were able to get a table with no problem. The live jazz consisted of two musicians that played some nice covers. Waitstaff were nice and super down to earth. We ordered the olives and almonds to snack on, a sort of whipped ricotta with bread. As entrees we ordered steak and clam chowder The steak had shiitake mushrooms that were incredible. I don't know what seasoning they used but I'll be trying my best to replicate them at home. But what won us over was the clam chowder, WOW! We both agreed it was the best clam chowder we've ever eaten in our lives! It has had fresh clams, super finely diced vegetables, and some sort of sherry immersed that completely set it off. We'll both dream of that soup because it was that good! If you're looking for a nice, chill vibe with great food this is your spot! And always ask your server for their rec because they always know what's best

We had an impromptu dinner here the other evening, which turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. We started with some olives (served warm) and some labneh, then shared a pumpkin salad, polenta and mushrooms and some Italian cold meat (for the meat eaters, not me!). I had the red snapper bouillabaisse for main, which was the stand out dish. I wish they had a few more shrimp in there as that was the best part of the dish. Our server was personable, attentive and lovely. Atmosphere was cute and cozy bistro. Would recommend for sure!

Delicious meal with varying menu items and although nearby the Eiffel Tower, the prices are very reasonable. Between 3 people, we ordered 3 starters and 2 main dishes for our light lunch. For starters, we had grilled polenta, grilled eggplant, and a tuna/frisee salad toast. For main dishes, we had roasted duck, and a take on bouillabaisse. Of course, these are very abridged summaries of what the dishes actually contained, but each plate was thoroughly thought out. Would not hesitate to eat here again. Bonus if if you see the cafe cat!

Food is really tasty. Service is solid as well but kind of slow (but I get I'm not used to the French way). The drunken dragon whatever beef dish is REALLY good; meat is cooked perfectly and seasoned great. Mashed potatoes is also phenomenal with hella butter. The mushrooms is VERY heavy on the ginger and even though I like ginger, I felt that it was a bit too overwhelming. My mom got the fish and said it was just okay. People here speak perfect English so it was a great way to start our trip. Very cute and tucked away in a small corner but don't be fooled, the food is scrumptious.

We found this place from someone's blog and decided to eat here since we were near. The staff was so nice and had great recommendations for food and drinks. We got the olives, charcuterie, wine, pork, seabream, and goat cheesecake. It was one of my favorite meals in the city. We went a little early without a reservation but highly recommend making a reservation so you don't miss out.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

As a Chinese, I understood more than 50% of the conservations (Chinese). Which doesn't mean anything about the food. Just observation. Onion soup - 2 stars. First, the cheese failed to emit the baked, melted gruyere cheese, there is no aroma at all. I don't think they used gruyere cheese. May be mozzarella cheese. The worst part was the bread in the soup. It tasted stale which ruin the flavor of the soup. I had to finish without the bread. Escargot - Another disappointment. What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. Other places I actually get excited dipping the bread into the garlic butter but not here. Pan seared Foie gras - The quality of Foie Gras was definitely there. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.

Chef Hugo is visible in the kitchen, working very hard to make everything just perfect. They brought bread immediately (my husband loved the sliced baguette--it was perfect and chewy as it should be, but not hard). We ordered a bottle of wine, a Macon Villages, which was perfect. I had the cucumber salad appetizer, which was so fresh. My husband ordered the ravioli appetizer--tiny little rectangles in a scrumptious sauce--a work of art. I ordered the fish and shrimp plate. The sauce was amazing and it was a huge portion of tender white fish. My husband had the lamb with frites. It was nicely seasoned & perfectly done. For dessert, my husband enjoyed a chocolate treat and I had refreshing raspberry sorbet. Deborah was so friendly and solicitous throughout the meal. I have never felt so well taken care of. (I have seen some comments from people who are unhappy that they can't just walk in. They don't appear to understand that there is only one seating. People arrive when they do and they linger. Empty tables seen from the street do not mean the place is not fully booked. Make a reservation well ahead of time. It is worth it!)

The egg yolk makes a great sauce to soak up this cheesy and hammy toast. This came with a salad on the side which had a vinegar based dressing coated on it. The only thing is we had miscommunication with the waitress about drinks. We asked for water (l'eau) but they gave us distilled water in a bottle which costed us 8 euros. I learned it's important to learn to specifically ask for carafe d'eau (tap water in French) to get free water! Felt a bit bad that we were overcharged. Just gotta be careful with communicating next time. All in all, I enjoyed trying the amazing sandwich that is a croque madame. Wanted to give 4 stars for the food but the bottled water still irks me.
