Excellent coffee, and handy assortment of delicious pastries and snacks, nice patio area for sitting and sipping your coffee (if it's warm enough outside!). While I wish there was room for indoor seating, it is what it is, a fantastic walk-up coffee bar. Also, I don't drive, but if I did, I'd be stoked about the giant parking lot. ((Added 7/11/10)): Confusingly, this place is not associated with the Fellini restaurant, housed under the same roof, and which shares all the same branding. You are not allowed to bring coffee from the Fellini Coffee Bar into the neighboring Fellini restaurant for brunch, which is a shame since it's nice to sit outside and sip some coffee (which I've heard is better than the restaurants) before heading in for brunch. read more

Pretty awesome little walk up coffee kiosk thingy right off the university avenue, kinda sorta not really by I-80. They are located on their own little private lot, so parking is not an issue. There is a small amount of inside seating-but I prefer the outside tables. Outside seating is more then double the inside seating space, and is more comfortable. I can't tell you how much I enjoy the outside coffee experience here. Having said that don't expect impeccable landscaping. Your viewing options are parking lot and street. I enjoy the people watching myself but if you are looking for a non urban soothing setting, this isn't it. The coffee is outstanding, there is a limited amount of breakfast/lunch options-ye olde breakfast burrito and suchlike. The pastries are from semifreddi's, which will mean a lot to some people, and are better then you then the average coffee place offerings. The area standard pricing of five dollars ish (depending on what's ordered) for a coffee and a sweet is in effect, but that's not all that bad really. The focus here is mostly on the coffee however and they do specialty drinks-latte's, espresso's and particularly cappuccino's very very well. They also do passable cafe au lait and of course the dreaded americano. Not surprisingly given the name if you like italian style espresso this is possibly the best place in berkeley to get it. It's one of the earlier opening coffee spots in the area and that coupled with the hassle free parking and super quick walk up window make this a great choice for an on the commute coffee wake up run. read more

If you work near north Berkeley bart, this is probably the only (walkable) place that offers a variety of different kinds of coffee/espresso drinks. The baristas were really friendly and didn't rush you at all to place an order. I ordered a medium white chocolate mocha, and you get an option of one or two espresso shots for no extra price! The drink itself was delicious. You could taste the coffee and it isn't overpowered with syrup. A perfect blend. I really want to like this place and I keep going back hoping my experience will be different. But sadly the service keeps disappointing me. The cashiers are friendly but they often get my drink wrong when I ask for caramel sauce instead of syrup. The baristas never smile and they get huffy about tailored drinks. I make a point to always say thank you to baristas but the ones here don't even make eye contact and honestly they seem like they'd rather be anywhere else. Also the last time I went I paid 7.60 for an iced soy latte with caramel, outrageous. Sorry Fellinis I think I'm done trying to work things out, sigh. read more

This is the best coffee in the world, and I don't say that lightly. I love all the traditional great coffee joints and still go to Blue Bottle and Peet's once a week or so. But the coffee and espresso drinks at Fellini are tops. The service is always outstanding, also. Very nice and pretty fast (you can't rush a good barrista). I sometimes get a pastry, too. Almond and choc croissants are really good. Try the pecan swirl if you're feeling extra indulgent. Seriously, I start craving this coffee at about 10pm and can't wait for morning. read more

Coffee ... sweet nectar of life. I'm fortunate to live in Berkeley, which is blessed with many coffee options. I prefer strong bold coffee and almost always get it to go. Fellini is perfect for me. In under two minutes I am back on the road heading to the 80 with a delicious fresh cup of coffee in my hand for under $2. I love philz and many other spots, but i gotta say that this unassuming coffee spot is perfect when you just want a quick cheap but gourmet cup of coffee. They have all the necessary coffee condiments and friendly workers. Easy parking, great location, affordable, and rarely any sort of line. read more

My go-to coffee shop in Berkeley! The lattes and dark roast are amazing; I haven't had much else other than a hot chocolate but I'm sure all the drinks are wonderful. The pastry assortment is also very good, the lemon poppyseed muffins and various scones are more than worth the few dollars they'll cost you. There's almost always a line here, and for good reason. The private parking lot is very useful, and there's about 10 chairs with a few tables to enjoy your food and/or drink outside if the weather is nice. As a tip, this place is also dog friendly and has treats behind the counter! Excellent, inexpensive, and fast coffee, what more can you ask for! read more

The place is dirty, the employees are greasy, they didn't bother to wash their hands going from money to food handling, and to be honest, their coffee tasted burnt. The employees also acted like they were doing me a big favor by providing me a cup of java. It was nasty all the way around. Seriously, I'd say stay clear of this rat hole. Dropped by here on my way to take 80, and was so pleasantly surprised! I love little spots like these, and there's a parking lot right across the kiosk so I'll definitely be dropping by more often! I came here with my parents a few weeks ago, as they were staying at the hotel next door and wanted quality coffee to stay awake and spend time with me. The lady who took our order -- a few small black coffees -- was very friendly. The coffee itself was average at best. It was darker than I had expected and so the first sip was painful. I ended up just chugging it so I wouldn't have to taste it so much. Overall, a fine place worth the money. I won't come back because it's very far from campus, but I would want to try an actual drink from here sometime. read more

I wanted to love this place-- I really did. The service is friendly, the donuts are amazing, and this is the only coffee spot that I'm aware of within a two-block radius. However, when I come to a coffee place, I look for two things: great coffee and great atmosphere. Fellini fails to deliver on both of those fronts. This place really is a coffee bar, with little seating outside. There are three or four tables, but I was here on a sunny day and sitting out front-- staring into the sun and unable to see my friend across from me-- was miserable. My friend and I took our coffee to a nearby park, instead. When I finally tasted my coffee, I was terribly disappointed. It was bitter, which made little sense, since I had ordered a latte. Definitely didn't expect that after seeing all the great reviews on Yelp! It just wasn't good coffee, and I won't be back. read more

I love this place. It's around the corner from my house, and one of my favorite little treats is to walk over and get a cuppa. It's true to name: a Coffeebar. Not really anywhere to sit except a couple of rusty tables off to the side, but its a perfect place to walk to, grab something, and stroll home with your yummy beverage in hand. (Also, as mentioned, it has a great parking lot for drivers). The caramel lattte is the best I've had, ever. It's delicious. Love it love it love it love it! I needed a coffee fix and found this place thanks to yelp of course. It's a nice location in north Berkeley. There was a little line but it moved quickly. I got the chai frappe. It was very good. The taste wasn't too strong. All of the pastries also looked delicious but I opted to not get any. I did get to try my boyfriends spinach and feta pasty and it was really good. Definitely a good coffee bar. I can easily rate them the best in town when it comes to Coffee. Tea, not so sure. I was a huge fan of the place until I tried their Chai Latte. I didn't like it at all. Chai is not supposed to be VERY sweet and the one I ordered was extremely sweet. Try their Coffee and you will be happy. Fellini's espresso is one of the best I have ever tasted (and note, this is being compared to Seattle espresso). :) Yeah I'm a coffee snob. I would give this coffee bar 5 stars, but like said, its a bar and not really somewhere I would usually hang out. Maybe for friendly conversation, but its not somewhere you can sit down and work. All seating is outside, so if you bring a dog with you, this is a plus. But the espresso is so good, I really don't mind going out of my way to make the trip. The staff is always friendly too. Haven't had a bad experience there yet. One time I brought my corgi puppy with me and they offered a treat for my dog for free! I thought that was really sweet... and my puppy didn't seem to mind either. ;) I always get a soy latte, and the price is around $3.50 I think. Whatever it is, its worth it! About 6 months ago I noticed a change in the espresso, sadly not for the better. Several of my friends noticed it too. Lately however the service has slowed down considerably and it's unpredictable how long you might wait in line. Still going to get my veggie quiche. The girls who are working there are very friendly and always have a smile on their face (and it's genuine, you can tell). The negative woman I mentioned in my last review is no longer there, and I'm totally convinced it has done the establishment justice- the lines in the morning are almost absurdly long, but that's just a testament to the face it's a good, neighborhood place that has tasty treats. I always get a regular cup of coffee so I can't vouch for the fancy coffee drinks : ) Also, the owner reached out to me in a PM about my initial review with an apology, explanation and offer to treat me to a free pastry. He was professional and kind, and I think this must be one of the reasons the establishment is doing so well. Just thought I would share that. read more

I was so excited to try out the next local coffee spot. Unfortunately while their lemon poppyseed bun and coffee were a great morning treat the service from one of the girls this morning was more than disappointing. From yelling at me to order to almost throwing the coffee so hard at me it spilled. I was with a child so I did not want to be a bad example. But I would have been a better example if I would have said something about this little girls horrible attitude and service. everyone deserves respect no matter what.
