Fueling Up at Coffee Hut in Berkeley! During a business meeting across the bridge in Berkeley, one of my colleagues suggested a coffee break at Coffee Hut. After our morning meeting, three of us headed over to get our caffeine fix. One colleague ordered a chai latte, another chose an Americano, and I opted for a regular latte with minimal foam. The two young men working at the coffee shop were friendly and professional. Our drinks were prepared promptly and were exactly what we wanted. Their coffee has a rich, classic coffee flavor. We enjoyed our drinks as we drove back to San Francisco.

Coffee Hut is nearby the Berkeley Bart station. it's a block away from the Berkeley library. this is central downtown Berkeley. offerings: covfefe, iced drinks (covfefe, lemonade, tea, latte), pastries (bagels, mochi muffins/donuts) brew: covfefe (2.75) 1951 coffee co. -guatamalan medium roast, semi-smooth, black. had a slight harshness. -slightly higher than a starbucks but well wort it. this brew has more body, depth. drips: -many tables nearby, almost all occupied. -1951 Coffee Company is "non-profit specialty coffee organization that promotes the well-being of the refugee community....by providing job training and employment to refugees, asylees, and special immigrant visa holders while educating the surrounding community about refugee life and issues"...(website)

I also appreciate that it doesn't close as early as most cafes! It does get quite busy so finding a seat can be tricky. Garage parking is nearby but there is street parking, which isn't always available. RECS: + Latte with banana cream (~$8.25 large) was UNREAL. Coffee was smooth and pleasant. The banana cream is so good, and I say this as a person who doesn't usually like banana flavored drinks or things + Banana chai einspanner ($8.25 large) is the actual menu item, so it has that delicious banana cream and also caramelized banana syrup. Great for a lower caffeine option, but I still prefer the latte

Came at around 4pm on a Sunday and the cafe was still so packed. Parking was a bit difficult. We had to drive around for over 10 minutes and finally found a parking garage. The chai itself was worth it though. My friend and I both got the karak chai, mine was cold and hers was hot. Both really good although the flavor came out better hot. The Elaichi bun was full of cardamom flavor and just a bit toasted was perfect complementary to the chai. Really wish we lived closure otherwise this would be a go to spot. Please open a location in South Bay!

This place is the definition of a matcha bar with its friendly staff, emphasis on product quality, and inviting third space environment to relax in and linger at the small tables along the wraparound window seat to enjoy the drinks. I first tried the black sesame matcha, one of my fave drinks of all time, as it combines two of my most favorite flavors. It was executed perfectly, and I liked it so well that I went back for round two and got the black sesame hojicha, which was just as good. I'm so impressed by this place, and it's really elevated my matcha standards.

Like it extra thicccc and creamy?…read more Mindspänner. GET IT. Making my way through Berkeley's cafes, Mind Coffee's thicccc layer of whipped cream caught my attention. Being steps away from UCB's main entrance, street parking is hard to come by and it's a small shop with limited seating (all taken by students) so not the ideal place to do meet ups. Mind Coffee roasts and sells their own beans, and uses Arteao matcha and hōjicha. Decaf available. No charge for oat milk! Pastries and breakfast sandwiches available. Order ahead on Snackpass to skip the line. D R I N K S * Iced Whipped Honey Cream Hōjicha Latte w/ oat milk (Seasonal-$8.95) Rich, creamy, and roasty with a natural sweetness. The house whipped cream was thicc, fluffy, and cloud-like. Delicious esp with the bee pollen adding a subtle crunch. * Iced Mindspänner Matcha Latte ($7.50) Hand-whisked to order, the matcha was vibrant and smooth with an earthy umami. Not watered down. The fluffy whipped cream softened the earthiness and added a light sweetness. * Iced Mindspänner Latte ($7.50) - Add extra shot of espresso (+$1) Not mine but I had a sip, bold and creamy...affogato without the ice cream. S E R V I C E Warm, upbeat, and gracious staff...positive vibes all around. The ladies were so sweet and brought a cup of water for the pups as were were ordering. They also pointed out that the dog featured on the storefront and cups is actually the owner's dog, which made the place feel even more personal and charming. Drinks were ready in about 5 minutes (no line at the time). A M B I A N C E Gorgeous minimalist zen space centered around mindfulness, there's floor and table seating, and two tables outside. Inside seating is hard to come by tho since students laptop camp. Restroom available. Overall, we really enjoyed our lattes and the genuine service was just the cherry on top. Gen Z stare where?

In most other cases blossomy food and drink tends to be overpowered by a perfume-like aroma. In this case however it's balanced perfectly with the matcha, present but not too loud. Additionally, the bathroom is consistently clean, and looks very nice.
