Curtis thoroughly cleaned the firebox and flue, inspected for cracks, checked the chimney from the exterior on the roof and recommended we add more insulation around the upper inside of the firebox as it goes up into the flue. (We did add more insulation!) Curtis took great care in keeping the work area clean and gave us a detailed invoice outlining what he had done. We had a leaking sprinkler head, which had caused water damage to an area of the garage. We shut off the water and had to work with a mitigation team to remove the wet dry wall and the ceiling around the sprinkler head to confirm the leak was coming from the sprinkler head itself. It was a stressful situation for someone encountering this type of a situation for the first time. Smart Fire Protection said they can come out to the house same day, which I really appreciated. The rate was higher than expected but I figured it is due to weekend pricing, and it was not unreasonable. We wanted to get the water turned back on sooner vs. waiting until Monday.
