I recently moved into a new house in a new development. Since my house doesn't show up on Google Maps or Google Earth most shipping companies won't even attempt to deliver packages to me. I was expecting my replacement phone from Verizon which was to be delivered by FedEx. I knew I would not be home and tried to let FedEx know. First, I tried online, but it won't allow that to be done online. Next, I tried calling. The automated system answered, and I could not do or say anything to get a LIVING person to talk to me. The system hung up on me 3 times. I called a local number and again, fought with the automated answering system until I finally got a live person. I explained to them that I would not be home to receive the package, that it was an expensive phone, and could I please pick it up from the facility. NOPE! They explained that they were required to deliver it to the address listed by the cell phone company. I told them it would be sitting on the porch all day since they informed me that it did not require a signature. I also informed them that we have a very high theft problem with packages in my neighborhood. They told me to contact the cell phone company and request a hold on the package. I live in Wyoming. The phone was shipped from Texas and was already at the Wyoming facility. I asked how I am supposed to do that. The person just kept repeating the same thing but offered no solution. They had a foreign accent but spoke good English so I am pretty sure they understood what I told them. Nobody at FedEx was concerned about getting the package delivered to the customer. The absolute worst customer service ever. The lady at the counter was annoyed that I was taking up her time. Highly recommend calling DHL, which is a competitor to FedEx that will actually come to your house and pick up and not going to this FedEx office unless you absolutely have to. It will ruin your day especially if you are trying to send something complicated like a computer or out of the country. The lady will actually argue with you. read more

Every time I receive a package at my door they used to ring the bell and leave the package. That's great, I'm home and know its there. It seems ever since we've been hearing a lot about porch pirates they never ring the bell so I dont know it's there. I call the 800 number and after 15 minutes I get someone in another country that says he needs a tracking number. I said it doesn't matter, I want you to contact the local office to ask them to ring peoples bells. He continues to ask for tracking numbers and he needs to know if its ground or etc. I'm like, it doesn't matter, this is at my door. He was just ignorant and now I see how much Fed Ex cares about their customers. They hire people for a buck and hour and put a ton of stuff on the recordings at the beginning of the call hoping you get sick of waiting so you wont know the rotten help they hired. There is no customer service, and heaven forbid they give you a local number. I will do my best to use another carrier from now on. read more

UPDATE: 4-Star Review After the fiasco outlined below, FedEx Customer Advocacy finally connected me with Collin, the manager at the 3601 Evans location. Collin was helpful, professional, and owned the mistake. He stepped up and made things right in the end. No business is perfect, and it's good to know that a FedEx manager will take action to address an employee's poor service and mis-information. ================================ INITIAL: 1-Star Review Did you know that, according to a female FedEx counter employee at the 3601 Evans location in Cheyenne WY, "insurance" isn't really insurance per se? If you need to make a claim, you must show a receipt for your item to prove its value. They'll happily put whatever "Declared Value" you want and charge accordingly, they just won't pay out on a claim without a receipt. Now this is just plain wrong according to FedEx Claims. In the absence of a receipt, FedEx should work with you to conduct fair market value research to support an item's value as part of a claim. But, to learn this, you have to spend an hour on the phone with FedEx Customer Advocacy (1-800-GOFEDEX.) Then, after all their internal verifications, hand-offs, escalations, and research, they will finally refer you back to the local FedEx location. This is extra awesome, because they transfer you to the very same employee that provided the mis-information in the first place. Predictably, she'll deny that she told you the mis-information, refuse to transfer you to her manager, and hang up on you. You then get to call back into the Customer Advocacy queue and start over. A great way to spend a couple hours of your day, right? read more

What a JOKE. Single handedly the worst customer service I have ever received from a shipping company. I wish I had gotten the lady's name I dealt with. I'm sure they have nice employees at the facility, but whoever I spoke with was a nightmare. We got a call from an unknown number, and they left a voicemail (with no name or way to contact them) saying they had a package they'd been trying to deliver for 5 days, and that they were sending it back to the shipper tomorrow if we didn't pick it up. No tracking number, no way to figure out what the package was. We are out of town with no way to be back by the following day. The horribly rude lady told me there was no package there for us. I was persistent and had her check several times because I was alarmed by the voicemail. She finally found one, and proceeded to try to hang up on me after she said "yeah found it you can come pick it up." I said WAIT we are out of town, I need you to hold it a few more days, and her response was to argue with me and say they couldn't hold it. Seriously??? People go out of town! That's life! You can't threaten to send back their packages just because you're lazy. I will NEVER use this fedex facility for anything again. Shame on you! read more

Disgusting that drivers for Fed Ex lie about deliveries. Never received my package because the driver entered "business closed not available" at 2:39pm when I was there until 4pm waiting for the package. Very unprofessional service as always, I try to only deal with companies who use UPS but it's not always possible. read more

We had an overnight package guaranteed by 10am and at 1200 I go look to see where it is and they said they weren't delivering package today because of weather - which happens to get great weather in Cheyenne so unsure as to why I cannot get my package today AS PROMISED and PAID FOR! read more

The absolute worst customer service I've ever encountered in this town, EVER! I tried to pick up package scheduled for delivery on the following day. "Yvonne"(probably a fake name) very nastily informed me without even asking about a tracking number or anything else, "That simply isn't possible."
