I had a package that was supposed to be delivered. I was told over and over again by the supervisor that I need to pay more and more money for shipping. I think I paid close to $800 in fees to have it delivered. It came from Australia, went through customs and the shipper selected FedEx to have a delivered to me. Anyways the couple of times I've been here, it has always been a terrific experience. The location is the nicest looking FedEx in Bakersfield. It is very clean and organized inside the building. This location moved to 1120 Douglas St. 93308. The new building is really nice, new, clean. The attendant was so-so, no very personable. They have carts for you to use to bring packages in from your car but then ask you to load them onto the conveyer belt. I couldn't since it was heavy, good thing there was a FedEx delivery guy in the building who was happy to help with it. read more

I have never had a problem with ups, unfortunately the shipper used FedEx. I paid extra for overnight delivery. The 1st day I will accept blame as I was not here when the driver showed up. This location repeatedly restores my faith in all things FEDEX. Minor hiccup and delay with an overnight priority envelope. One call to customer service generated an immediate case and sincere concern to locate the shipment. Within "five" minutes of that phone call, I received an unrecognized local call. I answered, and a representative from this local office asked for myself and introduced herself. "Katie" proved exemplary, professional and expedient. Her information was concise and detailed. Her tone was considerate and empathetic, and most of all GENUINE. She upgraded the normal "weekday" delivery to a Saturday delivery due to a label/scan mixup which inadvertently caused the delay. It happens. Things will and do sometimes go awry. But with Fedex it's a rarity. And if and when something is amiss, I can count on "Katie's" style of superior customer service and assistance which is head and shoulders above the competition. This location is wondrously efficient. Thanks again Katie, for alleviating the stress associated with the minor oversight and package error. I requested overnight shipping from Pleasanton, California to Bakersfield Ca, on October 16th. Took package to FedEx. Tracking stated package sent to Chino on the 16th, then shipped to Shafter on the 17th for delivery. This package was left at warehouse, then put on truck for delivery 3-4 times. No delivery done, and no notification as to why except on the 18th. I had to call Memphis for case number. I was told that package would be delivered on Friday the 21st. Shafter personnel to load it on truck. it was not delivered. FedEx said they would deliver Saturday, but couldn't on my end. Delivery set for Monday. No delivery. I called Memphis again, i was told that personnel at Shafter would call me for delivery. Package not delivered Monday. I was told the problem was a zip code problem within FedEx. This is not my problem. I had to contact FedEx to find my package, which cost my customer money, as well as my time. Package was FINALLY delivered Wednesday October 26th. 1 week after package was delivered to FedEx in Pleasanton. The reasons i was given for delay were poor and feeble at best. This is supposed to be a professional shipping company. The whole start to finish was the worst experience i have ever had in 34 years of working. Rang doorbell and left it there. He should of waited to see if someone was home ! Someone could of stole it ! My package from Apple that was purchased on August 30 was suppose to be delivered on September 1st to my residence. It was delayed to September 2nd when I checked the tracking on September 1st. It was never delivered to my address that day. I figured Labor Day weekend, fine, I guess drivers don't want to deliver. I received an email on September 6 from FedEx that my package was dropped off at one of their shipping centers 1120 Douglas St and that it was ready to be picked up. I went on September 7th to the shipping center to pick it up but was told by two employees that they recognize the tracking number and the sender address is an Apple address, and that it was picked up by someone else the day before. They said the person presented a photocopy of an ID and that the delivery driver gave the package to that person, even though a photocopy of an ID is not acceptable. I called and opened a case with FedEx the same day. The next day, September 8th, I received a call from FedEx that they have contacted the delivery driver that gave the package and according to that driver, the photocopy of an ID had my name and address on it, and that the case will now be considered resolved. I explained that I received an email from FedEx on September 6 afternoon that said my package was "delivered" to a name that was close to mine (looked like a mispell). I explained that I thought it was a reminder email to pick up the package, but that now I realized it was an email sent when a package is picked up by someone. I said that the name on the email is not my name. FedEx did not take any of that into consideration, did not take any responsibility for multiple of their errors, and marked my case resolved. The fact that the employees immediately recognized the sender address as an Apple's address, and that the delivery driver accepted a photocopy of an ID and most likely LIED about seeing my name and address on that ID (probably had a friend or hired someone to pick up the package), and looking at other reviews of mysteriously missing packages, tell me employees routinely steal packages from people. It's clear from how corporate FedEx handled my case that the employees know corporate doesn't do anything about it and that's why packages keep "going missing." FILE A POLICE REPORT IMMEDIATELY. read more

Quite honestly horrible. I was supposed to get my phone today through an insurance claim, anyways, I filed yesterday, and it was overnighted, I was keeping up with tracking, and it made it to Bakersfield but never got to my house, so then I get a txt saying that they're sending it back to the carrier. So after a long ass time trying to get in touch with a representative, they said that someone tried delivering it and was unsuccessful, which was a lie because I was home during the time, And IF they really did, they would have left a fedex sticky note on the door claiming that they did in fact show up, which there was no sticky note. They "tried" delivering my package for a week now but never left a note saying they missed me and will try again. Anyways after a week later i called the office on Friday evening because i haven't seen no missed notes or anything and was worried because online tracking said it was in Bakersfield location so i go and call the office and they told me i can pick up Monday morning at the office. I was notified that something I bought on line would be delivered to my HOME, not business by 8:00pm today. When I checked my email it said that the parcel was not delivered because the business was closed, no access. My townhouse is 10 feet from the street. There are 86 units here. Only 10 of which are not on the Main Street. No fences in front. Anyone who is able to move can get to it with little effort. The delivery guy is just lazy!!!! He's left other people's packages on my front porch 2 times in the last couple of months. The number is clearly placed in front, and there is no excuse for this laziness. Find better drivers, or ones that can at least read. Now I have to travel to the 08 in the summer heat to try and retrieve my package. Horrible service they have lost my package twice and now keep hanging up on me. My package was to be delivered two days ago.

I have never been treated so bad in my life!!! So my husband's cell phone broke and so we called the cell phone company and they told us that it would take 3 days for them to send us a new phone, we needed it sooner so we paid $12 for them to overnight one to us. So the next day I patiently waited for FedEx to deliver it to our house, but had to run a few errands. I called Verizon and asked if they sent it off to us and they said they had and they gave me the tracking number. I then called FedEx & asked them if I had to be home for them to deliver it and they said they needed a signature. I tried to get home before they came but when I returned home, I had a note on the front door that said I needed to come to the store on Airport Drive in Bakersfield after 5:30 to pick it up (they close at 6:00). So I waited until 5:30 and brought my driver's license & the note they left on my front door. When I walked into the store, 2 women were standing behind the counter and another woman(African American) was leaning over the counter (from the customer's side) talking and laughing. I waited for the woman leaning over the counter to get done laughing and move out of the way(walked behind the counter to the back) so that I could approach the lady to give her my paper. After I gave her the paper and my license, the lady told me that she can't give me my package because it was in my husband's name and my license did not have my new address on it. I told her that my husband is the manager of a business and could not leave to pick up this package. She was very rude and didn't seem to care. I was so upset that I almost started crying. I asked her how would I have the piece of paper if I didn't get it from my house were they were delivering the package, then the 3rd lady that worked there said that people can steal these to try and get people's packages! I asked to speak to the manager and she said very rudely, "No Problem" So after a few minutes, the African American lady comes from the back. She very RUDELY said, "can I help you" I explained to her that I paid $12 for my husband's phone to be overnighted to us and she had the nerve to say, "really" ??? " I get things overnighted all the time from that phone company and they have NEVER charged me anything" I was thinking, Are you kidding me? She is trying to call me a liar? Anyway, I pleaded with her that we needed the phone and she cut me off and was very rude and said that she can't help me and that he needs to come in! So I asked her if I can call Verizon and have her talk to them and she said that I can try. So I called Verizon and was on hold to talk to a live operator and then I remembered that I had a PG &E bill with my name and new address on it in my car. So I went out to get it and I came back into the store and asked the first cashier if that would let me prove who I am. She looked at the bill and handed me the clipboard and told me to sign my name. So I did and she handed me my package! No apology or anything else from her! All I have to say is that the African American woman has NO BUSINESS being in management! She has no people skills and it goes to show that when you give her just a little power, she obviously can't handle it! read more

I typically receive packages through UPS or the post office, but apparently the Company I ordered from used FedEx and I would not recommend. I received a slip on my door yesterday saying that I I had missed the delivery guy and the only box checked was that I could pick it up off Airport Dr. I went in this morning and after the employee scanned my door tag, I was informed that it was out for delivery. She apologized that the driver did not note on the slip that three delivery attempts would be made and that he should have. As I walked away, I overheard her tell a male employee that it was the second one that he had not made the notation. While she was not rude to me, i would never use them again. An apology is hardly sufficient when I have to drive 5 miles each way out of my way for a package that wasn't there because of your employee's failure to document properly. read more

I always use UPS or the post office to ship my packages. This review is about FedEx and their poor delivery service. My cell phone carrier uses FedEx to ship phones so when I needed a new phone, my phone was shipped out via FedEx. The phone was to be delivered on a Tuesday. I stayed home all day to wait for the delivery. When 8 PM rolled around, I decided I would check my tracking number. FedEx showed that my phone had been delivered in the afternoon. I was home all day and no FedEx person came to my house. After three calls to FedEx, I finally talked to someone who told me that the package had been "missed delivered". I checked with my neighbors but nobody had it. The next day I called my phone carrier and they said they would send out a second phone. It was to arrive today, Friday. Again, I changed my plans so I could stay home and wait for the delivery. As late afternoon approached, I thought I would check tracking for the second phone. Low and behold, FedEx shows they had attempted delivery at 1:30 PM. I have been sitting in my house, watching something on TV and watching for the FedEx truck at the same time. Although FedEx says delivery was attempted at 1:30 PM today, no FedEx truck came to my house, no FedEx employee came to my door, and there is no door tag from FedEx on my door. Kind of tells me that someone wanted an early weekend. It is impossible to talk to anybody here in the Bakersfield office. You can only talk to somebody at the 800 number. They assure me that the phone will be redelivered on Monday - so I guess I will spend another full day waiting at my house for a FedEx delivery. I really think the management at the Bakersfield FedEx office needs to be aware of this and I am hoping that somehow they see this review. On a final note, the original phone was brought to my house by the neighbor who received it - I shipped my broken phone back using UPS! read more

Very poor delivery service received today by the fed ex delivery men. It also appeared to be a training in progress. I'm disappointed in the quality of the delivery service that I received today with my chewy order. 2 smirking and laughing young men pulled up. They then proceeded to dump my box on the front lawn right by the front gate where it could have been easily stolen. The person who was I assume training this man thought this was hilarious as he said yea man as they laughed about this disrespectful and unprofessional behavior. This is no way to train a new employee. Also I am one small short women. This box contains a large bag of pet food. With 2 men working surely they could have placed the bag by the front door as they have in the past so that I could have easily brought the package inside. Surely the box was too heavy for the one guy then his trainer could have come to offer him assistance to carry it all the way to the doorstep. THIS IS NO WAY TO TRAIN HIM. UPS JUST NOW DELIVERED A PACKAGE CORRECTLY AND EVEN KNOCKED ON THE DOOR AS A COURTESY INSTEAD OF RUNNING AWAY LAUGHING LIKE YOUR PEOPLE. DOES UPS HAVE HIGHER STANDARDS THAN FED EX? I receive a lot of FedEx deliveries. I have posted a sign at front door asking for ALL deliveries to be left at door down my driveway. It is not far from the road, so not like it is a huge request. My reasons for this request is physical handicapped and my front door is very close to road and walking traffic. Too often the delivery is left at front door in front of the sign posted. We had a shipment of seafood coming from Alaska that somehow did not make it on the intended day. We did receive a phone call from the Bakersfield FedEX office letting us know we could either call them back and come get the package ourselves at the Airport Drive location or they would put it on a truck for delivery the following day. For some reason the status was not updated and I was confused and anxious since this was a very expensive box of seafood that we did not want to see spoil.. After talking to the main FedEx Call Center (Customer Service) they gave me the Bakersfield direct number since the call center could not reach anyone at the Bakersfield office. [Of course, they were extremely busy, it was Christmas eve.] When I called the Bakersfield office, I explained my situation, was polite, and guess what? I received the most courteous service in return. A little sugar or honey goes along way to getting good service. She located the package, called the driver, and let me know exactly were he was and that he should be to my location that afternoon and if not he would call me to arrange delivery. Thats service!
