They have a nice Kid's Area with lots of room for activities! My daughter loves coming here to not only pick out books, but to also play with the toys. They also provide computers for use as well as headphones. You can even check out comic books and video games here! All of the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well. I love that they have a massive amazing wooden playground and they even have a smaller playground behind the library. Great walking area around the whole complex as well! There is a building next door that even hosts dance classes and what not. My daughter has attended classes there and she has even had soccer practice on the fields behind the library. It's overall a great library and there is always something to do and entertain my daughter when we visit. I also love the convenience of their website and the emails they send out letting me know when our books are due back or when a book I want to check out is ready for pick up!

Adj: good library in South Natomas…read more Pretty nice community library that's been here for over 30+ years! 32 to be exact this year so South Natomas Library celebrated 30 years in 2024. It's off Truxel Blvd, down a couple of blocks north of W. El Camino Blvd. The inside is nice and cool on hot summer days in Sacramento from the scorching heat waves we experience every year! Although this is the older library in Natomas, it's still in pretty good shape as it's been quite well maintained. There's a community room near the entrance where events for all ages are held and restrooms are by the doors too. The bathrooms are decently clean, but if you come later in the day, you may find it's messy from use as I don't think anyone keeps them up throughout the day. The children's section is off on the left side as you enter, past the circulation desk where you'll get all the help you need from the friendly library staff. Colorful and filled with quite a lot of children's books in purple, blue, and green book shelves, the whole area is nicely designed and color coordinated. The kid-sized desks and chairs are perfect for shorter adults so you can work while your kids read or explore and find books, play with other kids in the alcove area where there's a "market" playset and other toys. NOTE: it gets LOUD here in the morning with toddlers galore if you're trying to get any work done, sit somewhere else if you can (and don't have to watch your kids). The adults area is set off towards the back of the library with tons of computers to reserve up front by the librarians and then the MANY book stacks and multi-media materials are further in as you walk deeper into the library. Overall, this is a good community asset and resource, the only downside is parking is kind of limited as the lot is shared with the community center next door and the park with a play structure at the SE corner of the lot shared with the library. Open 10-6 daily except on Sundays and Mondays (boo, wish some branches open on either).

The parking lot is huge so there's no issue with finding a parking. There are a lot of homeless people going in and out using the restroom in the front. There's a small kids area with some toys and plenty of books. The library isn't large but has plenty of resources. We do not go to this location anymore since it's far for us. We mainly used it for the 3D printing but I recently purchased my own for home use.

This is the Resources Building, with several state agencies located here. They have a big auditorium, a nice lobby, several bigger conference and smaller meeting rooms, tons of open space that communicates vastness, and the decor all throughout seems to be designed to bring nature or reminders of nature into this building. The rest of the building beyond the first 2 floors are not accessible to the public, and require badge access. I was impressed by their giant 20(?) foot display where they put up giant announcements and colorful digital posters. On the other side of that foyer/lobby, you'll find their dining area. They have 2 eateries, Buddha Bowls & Rolls and Jesse's Getaway Cafe. They also have a small convenience store but its hours are quite limited, but still nice to have one. All in all, very nice building, still looks and feels new, with tastefully designed facilities. Pro tip: don't buy from their vending machine in the cafeteria area. Chips are $2.75, candy bars $3.10, and soda cans $4.75 each. Yikes. At those prices, might as well get a meal or sandwich and drinks at the 2 food vendors on site.

So this is the new Resources Building, which officially opened in Fall 2021, when most everyone was still probably trying to stay home or not in-person for work due to the pandemic. The main State agency here is the California Natural Resources Agency. But this building also houses the following 11 agencies that's related to CNRA. Specifically, you'll find: California Energy Commission California Water Commission Delta Stewardship Council Department of Conservation Department of Fish & Wildlife Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) Department of Parks & Recreation Department of Water Resources California Fish and Game Commission Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety Wildlife Conservation Board As for the building itself, first off, this is an ECOFRIENDLY building, and is in fact a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) LEED Platinum Certified Building, which means there are a lot of environmental friendly and conservation design elements and measures thoughtfully put into this building. All the lighting and other resource usage devices and mechanisms have been considered carefully to minimize usage and maximize energy saving. Secondly, there are ART works and California nature themes throughout the building with lots of beautiful photos and digital art pieces of scenes from California's coastline, beaches, forests, mountains, and other natural wonders, some in more realistic representations, and others in more abstract and interpretative modes. There are also several sculptures throughout and surrounding the building, with the Giant Sequoia at the entrance being the most famous and prominent one, made by artist John Grade. Other artists represented include Rachel Sussman, Ishi Glinsky, Michael van Straaten, Angelo Rosales, Chris Jordan, Chris Kallmyer, Danski Tang & Josh Shaffner, Elizabeth Leister, Gabe BC, Heidi Duckler Dance, Jessica Wimbley & Chris Christion, Kevin Cooley, Maru Garcia & Hye Min Cho & Maura Palacios Mejia, RIGER, Sarah Rara, Gioia Fonda, and HYBYCOZO. The passport services are for when you're requesting a new passport due to your previous one being lost or stolen, etc., and not for renewals. They can also take your passport photo here, but there's an additional fee. There's an additional fee for them to process your application, along with the regular passport fee as well. This is an easy process, and you'll receive your passport in a timely manner.

I made a phone appointment and they asked the required questions for the documentation. Then, we set an appointment to meet at the Law Library to sign the actual paperwork. After that, they gave us instructions on how to file it with Sac County. I can't believe this service was free. The only thing we pay for is the Sac County filing fee of $20. Thank you for offering this service to Sac residents!
