Well, the contractor never showed up, did not respond to any phone calls or text. The general contractor contacted Anchor Building Solutions on Saturday morning and Mike came to our house Saturday Afternoon, gave us a price and said he could have it done on Tuesday. The Anchor crew showed up on Tuesday and did a fantastic job. We had to divide the project up into 3 phases so Anchor had to come back two more times. Anker completed a large, multi-stage office build-out involving a variety of trades. They got it all done exactly right without me having to be involved at all. They did everything they said they were going to do in the time they said they were going to take. That seems like it should be a baseline expectation for contractors, but in my experience, it's a rarity. The best part is that I didn't need to manage any part of the process. I just showed up every couple of days to see the progress. Not to generalize too much, but I have found that folks in construction and trade jobs can sometimes have challenges letting women lead. I didn't experience any of that with Amir or his team. They were totally level with me. If a decision point came up, instead of making an assumption (aka guessing) and rolling with it, Amir pushed the question to me and talked me through the options. Their attention to detail was on point. I'm really particular and notice every small detail. At the end of the day, there were no issues big or small. The entire crew presents themselves as clean and well-groomed. Maybe it shouldn't matter, but I tend to feel like the way you present yourself in the world says a lot about how you approach things in general. And they were professional. They had the right tools for the job. The music was at a good volume or folks wore headphones. Paper put down to protect the floors. The mess was cleaned up every day. Total pros. Two quotes were close while the third was significantly more expensive. We have a large ranch house that has an enormous roof with an attached garage. Yahaira reached out to me and provided a quote. After many questions, which she answered quickly and directly, I decided to choose Q and Q Services. Juan from Q and Q gave a timeline that was two weeks shorter than the others to start the job. As promised, his crew was there within a week to start the job. The roof went up within three days. The crew started early in the morning and worked tirelessly into the night. The gutters needed to be replaced, and Juan provided a very reasonable quote. The gutters were done the next day. Yahaira would check in with me to see how the project was proceeding.
