We have used Jerry in the past to help restore several floors damaged by weather events. He has always been on budget/estimate and the quality of his work is fantastic. He is genuinely "pickier" than we are in details and has raised our expectations of home improvement. This year we really needed to redo a bathroom/shower. Tear ours completely down and redo it all. We got an estimate with clear instructions of what we needed to shop for (so we would get proper colors and styles to our taste). He is busy, so he gave us a start date that was 60 days out and on that morning he showed up early with his team (family too). He also contacted prior to start to make sure we had properly got the items he instructed (tile and colors) and he also verified choices so he could purchase items like shower hardware etc. He did a FANTASTIC job, on budget and finishing on schedule. The quality and attention to detail (replaced the door hinges because they looked too worn for our new bathroom, no charge - just ONE example). Jerry recently completed our fireplace surround, installation of a new mantle, closing off an old TV cabinet and installation of TV mount and soundbar, and some other touchups around the fireplace (flooring). This may not seem like a lot, but he is very meticulous so that every edge is perfectly aligned without odd cuts in the stone veneer. He completed the project in 5 days as originally estimated. We have used Jerry for 3 projects in the past 3 years and he will continue to be our go-to handy man for big and small renovations in our house. As I mentioned in a previous post, I would be calling him again when I had another home project, this time an entire kitchen remodel. That's got to be the best compliment YELP readers are looking for... someone you can trust enough you will use them over and over. Jerry met with us to discuss our remodel early in 2021 so we could plan ahead, order cabinets etc, and begin June 1st. Overall, he and his team gutted the entire kitchen including removing wall tile that went to our 9ft ceiling, and took out all our main level flooring, carpet, and tile. They installed our new engineered hardwood in just a few days and then kept them covered for the duration of our remodel so they didn't get damaged. Our kitchen was a major renovation simply because we have some odd angles in our kitchen and purchased cabinets from Lakeland Building Supply that were ceiling height with crown molding. The end product looks amazing and we are so pleased with the professionalism and attention to detail of Jerry. Jerry is a delight to work with, a great communicator, pays attention, onsite everyday, and made sure we were happy with everything. We had some permit inspector difficulties due to updated Gurnee city codes, but Jerry addressed everyone of them so that we could pass inspection. Everyone who goes through a major remodel is always worried about their budget and unanticipated costs; Jerry was reasonable with all the adjustments needed and at times went out of his way to make sure the job was done right. Just one example is that during demolition, our ejector pump in the basement became unplugged because of all the banging. This resulted in a minor water seepage that he cleaned up excellently. He also installed a battery backup to that ejector pump so that if anything ever happened in the future, we wouldn't have similar issues. This is the attention to detail everyone needs. read more

Timing was critical since we had a major event planned, and needed to complete our kitchen remodel with the backsplash being the last item that needed to be done. Jerry arrived and was professional, knowledgeable, and worked us through the final material selection and decisions, and scheduled the job within a few days. Upon his arrival he was well prepared and completed the job beautifully, on-schedule and within budget. While working on the backsplash he jumped in without hesitation and assisted us to troubleshoot an electrical switch issue that had nothing to do with the backsplash project. I had a strange problem involving a bay window that extended out onto a brick patio, with rodents and water somehow getting into my basement.
