I am out of state, and dependent upon others, which is important to this review. I requested a contractor for roof repair via yelp, and received 3 contractor inquiries in a short period of time. I am fully on board with the contractor trope of "GOOD-FAST-CHEAP, You Pick 2", and this was going to have to be a FAST and GOOD job, so I was anticipating that it wasn't going to be CHEAP. I eventually settled on Buck Remodeling as they could get out to the location quickly- as in day or days, instead or weeks or month. The price was $1,000 to patch the roof in an emergency fashion and I was more than happy with the results. We have had two projects done in our house by Terry and his team and both were exactly what we…read morehoped for. The first was finishing our attic to use as a gym. Terry was no nonsense about our quote, didn't try to upsell us on things we didn't want or need, overall a great price point for the work we wanted done. The space was tricky with all the angles but is perfect for a gym and we use it all the time. So of course when we were ready for an overhaul of our bathroom that previously had a tub and no shower and lots of outdated design, we called Terry. He was able to fit us in faster than we expected, which was great. I drew a design for him and picked out materials and he made it exactly as I imagined it. He was a great resource along the way, any time we had questions about something his expertise and experience really showed. And you can tell he really cares about the quality of the work done. He was good about updating us the timing of everything. Unfortunately, with most things in the supply chain these days, there were unforeseen delivery delays and issues that were completely outside of our control and Terry managed them well. He provided helpful solutions to tricky problems. And he made sure to come as soon as possible to finish things once we finally had everything we needed. We had Terry remodel our 1940s bathroom - electrical, plumbing, tile, tub, painting, toilet, sink,…read morelighting, cabinet, exhaust fan, grab bars, counter, plaster repair - the works! It's now been about 4 months since he finished the work and each day I look at our new bathroom and think "wow!' He did a great job! He was patient and always responsive to any questions or issues, and cleaned up each day. Great workmanship too. He started out by measuring and answering any questions we had, offering ideas here and there but letting us make our own decisions. Unlike some other contractors, he did not give fancy 3D architectural renderings, nor did he accompany us to each supplier to pick out products. Here's what his process was, which was perfect for us. We received a proposal contract which listed each item or task, along with a cost allowance for each item. If we chose something more expensive than its allowance, the final price would reflect the increase. If what we chose cost less than the allowance, the final cost would go down by that much. So we had a bottom line price from the start and would have the final decision on expenses. He then also gave us a list of his suggested suppliers from which to pick out all of the products. We worked with those suppliers to make selections at their respective showrooms (they work with TLC regularly), and they forwarded our selections to Terry. A few selections we made were from suppliers not on his list, which was fine, but the places he suggested were where most of the items came from. When all selections were made, he provided us with a revised proposal contract reflecting our selections and revised costs. Then he - not us - did the ordering from each vendor to insure that all of the parts and pieces fit together and would work, plus that way his contractor discount was applied. His final contract to us was transparent and showed all prices. No additional markups, no change order fees, no nonsense. If someone wants computer-generated architectural renderings, having him present at each supplier meeting, one central showroom where every needed product and samples are all in one place, then this type of contractor isn't likely for you. If however, you want a remodeling contractor that not only provides the quote but also does the actual work himself, with reliable suppliers that work with him, with a fair price and a minimal amount of stress (if that's possible lol), then TLC's a good choice. Would we recommend TLC Contracting? If you haven't it already guessed: the answer is absolutely!

From the initial estimate to the final inspection, he was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. The work was completed neatly, on schedule, and with great attention to detail. He left the work area clean and made sure everything was operating properly before he left. It's hard to find contractors who are both skilled and dependable, and Ryan definitely exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for an honest electrician who takes pride in his work, I highly recommend Bae's Electric. I'll definitely be calling Ryan again for any future electrical projects.

Dates of service: August 27, 2025…read more I had been struggling to find an electrician that was available and that wouldn't give me an estimate without a trip charge to swap out a ceiling fan that died (looking at you Current Electric...) and came across this interestingly named outfit, Bae's Electric. They responded to my request through Yelp quickly and we scheduled something at a set price ($175) for a few days out, between 8 and 930 am. Ryan asked me to text him the address, which I did, to the number that I had received a text message via Yelp. Fast-forward to the date of service and Ryan called me, very confused, asking if I was the person that wanted a ceiling fan installed. He seemed to have no information about me other than my phone number and the job, but I confirmed this and texted him my address to a different number and he again confirmed the time period. At 953, nearly a half hour after the window, I texted Ryan at the other number, asking if someone was coming. 20 minutes after that, Les arrived. At 11 am, Ryan texted me to ask "Did he make it out there." I confirmed that Les was here. I want to say that Les was very nice, but this is where things really went downhill. He struggled to find the right breaker for the bedroom where the fan was to be replaced and ultimately had most of the house turned off while he worked. In his defense, the panel is older and not well-labeled. Had he been on time, I could have helped him test which one was the correct one, but given his tardiness, I had meetings to dial into for you. Thankfully I had a hotspot I could use while I worked without internet. After my meeting, I stopped down to check on Les, standing on my bed, with his shoes still on. To a certain extent, I get it, the bed is large for the room, but that seemed like a poor choice to make, in my opinion. He said he was good and I told him that I was free of meetings for a while if he needed anything from me. Two hours later he came to see me, sweaty and defeated. He said he could not figure out how to install the fan (an Atomi ceiling fan from Costco, one that our neighbors behind us had installed in 90 minutes from another company) and that Ryan would be calling me. Les left the ceiling fan box on my bed, parts and garbage from the box spread out across my dresser, parts on the floor, and the old ceiling fan in the middle of the dining room. After he left, I noticed that he also left a stain on our driveway. Ryan called later and apologized for the issue but said he wasn't sure when he could be out. He offered late that evening, but that time didn't work for us so he said unless he had a cancellation, it would be "sometime this weekend." Part of my expected not to hear from him again. Three days later, on Saturday morning, Ryan texts me to confirm him coming at 11 a.m. I told him that he hadn't provided a time but 11 was fine. He then asked to change it to Sunday between 10 and 11. I told him that I could just find someone else to do this work and he responded that "today was fine, it sounded like you had something going on." At this point it felt like I was in an SNL skit and I reiterated that this had been a terrible experience and I would find someone else, between the mess and the stain in our driveway. Ryan replied, "That's fine." Update: Ryan came back and did the install at no cost. He also offered us a GFCI outlet with USB ports, but it wasn't something we necessarily needed but we thanked him for the offer. I did appreciate him trying to make the experience better and have revised my review accordingly.

Filled out the form for a rather large job- also covered by insurance- got a message right away…read morethat I would be contacted by Jason- was not contacted- I did get contacted late and called back ASAP= then nothing- asked for a visit on Monday- but understood if he was not working on the holiday- no response to say yes or no - called again on TU and got a back with an apology for dropping the ball- cannot come out at night due to coaching kids- would have the team call me with a new rep that can come out at night- he did say that if I did did not hear back in a few days to contact him again- I was clear that if I did not hear back today after all of this I would be going with someone else- if they cannot get back on a large estimate what would it be like if we signed a contract? he said he understood and no surprise- never got a call- guess they are booked with $35K jobs and don't need the work- also positive reviews all appear quite old
