We would like to share our extremely bad experience with FBC Stucco Lath Plaster Co. We hired Frank and his crew to remove the partial wood siding from our house and detached garage and replace it with stucco to match an existing stucco and to paint the entire house and garage with elastomeric paint. We soon realized that Frank's crew was incredibly unprofessional, unskilled and very disrespectful to the private property. The project was originally estimated to take 2-3 weeks, but 4 months into construction it was still not done. The new stucco was poorly matched to the original stucco and needed to be redone. Additionally, after 2 consultations with the 3rd party we were told that a couple of steps in stucco application were obviously missing or done improperly. Frank had to hire somebody to redo the stucco because his crew was lacking the skill to do so. The paint job was horrendous. After witnessing how Frank's people were spray painting the garage, we realized that they were doing it for the first time. They did not cover properly all that needed to be covered and completely painted over motion sensors, sprayed gas meter and concrete in the perimeter of the building. Frank offered to do the paint job himself and said that he is in fact a "painter by trade". Turn out that he was no better. It was agreed and repeated a few times that the house and garage is to be painted in 3 coats - primer + 2 coats of elastomeric paint sprayed and back rolled. However, Frank took advantage of the situation when for a week nobody was home, so upon our return he reported that paint job was done as agreed in 3 coats. Upon close inspection we realized that most of the house was spray painted in 1 coat using the cheapest construction grade paint instead of elastomeric paint (we found empty buckets in garbage pile). And again, there was overspray everywhere - doors, windows, security cameras, glass railing on the balcony, recessed lights, motion sensors, pool equipment, step lights, gate etc. - take a look at the photos attached. We had to hire a professional painting company to do a proper job, because neither Frank, no his crew were able to deliver. The company we hired reported that they have never seen such unskilled work, and that it was very clear to them that whoever did it had no clue what they were doing.
Additionally, during over 4 month of construction Frank's crew managed to cause damage to the property in the amount of $9,538, not mentioning that during the entire period the site was littered with food leftovers, beer bottles and cigarette butts despite numerous reminders to collect the trash after work day to the designated trash cans.
Needles to say, we would not recommend to hire Frank and his company for any of your projects. Just take a look at the photos.
P.S. I would like to address Frank's response about "incidents of racial profiling". Frank refers to me asking him if he hired his crew from the Home Depot turn around. By asking that I referred to the poor quality of work that was so obvious (again, take a look at the photos). Not a word was spoken in regards to the race of the people in his crew. Additionally, in texting Frank repetedly expressed to me his dissapointment in his crew and their inability to deliver quality job, as well as their unreliability.
I also would like to warn future customers of FBC Stucco Lath Plaster Co that Frank's "business approach" is to offer you the lowest estimate for the job, hire one-time low skilled workers, don't pay them in full, so they don't want to come back (I know that from one of his workers), and pray that the job provided will be acceptable enough. I know now why after 20+ years in busuness (as Frank claims) there are only 3 reviews. read more
