This was my first time to Fatburger & it didn't disappoint! Their tagline says, this is "The Last Great Hamburger Stand" & I agree it's great. Fatburger has been around for over 70 years. It's in several states & many countries, but only one location in Colorado...this one in Aurora, Co. The restaurant is roomy with lots of windows & natural light. It has a retro vibe, is clean with exceptionally comfy cushioned booths & chairs...it even has a juke box. We arrived early on a Saturday afternoon for lunch & placed our order with a very friendly service counter employee. We were given a number to place at our table & our food was brought out to us rather quickly. Drinks & condiments are self service. Everything was made fresh to order & from scratch. We split the Original Fatburger Meal (1/3 lb.) The burger was delicious & juicy. Note, if you want cheese & bacon that's an extra $1.60 each. Also, for the side we did 1/2 Onion Rings & 1/2 Sweet Potato Fries. Note, Sweet Potato Fries are an extra $1.00. The Onion Rings were awesome, not heavily battered, just perfect. First time to a Fatburger. Service was good, place was pretty clean. I got a medium fatburger with lettuce, tomato, cheese, onions, and mayo. Even with the mayo, the burger was pretty dry. Maybe the patty was overcooked or something but it was also not very seasoned and was bland. The skinny fries were good though, I enjoyed those. I still would rather go to another burger chain. It's been a decade since I last ate at Fatburger and it did not disappoint. I ordered the classic Fatburger with fries and a drink. I wasn't able to eat the fries because the Fatburger was so huge. The service was very good. My order was taken promptly, and the Fatburger team prepared it exactly the way I wanted it. The restaurant was extremely well taken care of and clean. I ordered my food to go, but I was able to sit down and remember all the times that I would frequent the restaurant. This is an average burger place in my opinion. It ranks similar to in-n-out and Five Guys. I think I would actually prefer in-n-out or Five Guys over Fatbuger. The burgers were good. My only complaint is that I asked for no onions on my burger and it still came with onions. Also adding cheese costs extra ($1.60). The fries are average. I do think it is cool that they offer skinny (shoe string) fries or fat (steak) fries. I was told by a friend to order the steak fries crispy or they will be raw/undercooked in the middle. I also tried the milkshake, it was very good. I would maybe return here again if I was in the area but, this is not near my house. My hubby and I are both huge Fatburger fans and were really bummed when the Fatburger closed some years back near Park Meadows Mall. I didn't know until recently that there was a location in Aurora. Even though it was a bit of a haul to get there from where we live, we were excited to get our Fatburger fix again! This California girl loves Fatburger. The only thing I don't like about them is how expensive it is. But there is no better place for a turkey burger and onions that I can think of. I was craving a healthier option for a burger and remembered that fatburger has a turkey burger. I love how juicy it is. All the toppings make it so good. I called in my order because I live about 45 minutes away. When I got home to pink hamburgers I called the manager who told me to come back and he would recook my order. We decided to be adventurous on a Friday night and instead of going to the old standby Freddy's, try Fatburger despite the reviews. They unfortunately were right: over priced and bland. $40/ 2 adults and a kid is a LOT for fast casual. Add in that they automatically ring you up as the bigger sized burger without asking. I got the boca burger and my spouse the impossible burger. They both came out burnt as hockey pucks. My boca burger is so over cooked it's rubbery. Onion rings and fries are undercooked. Milkshake is too thick to get through a straw. They use small trays to make things look larger in photos. Don't waste your time or money here. Too many other great burger places. When i ordered the King burger meal and the guy said a slice of cheese was $1.30 cents all i could do was laugh because that's ridiculous !! My first impression of Fatburger was that it was fun and flamboyant because of their awesome jukebox inside!! Their dining area is honestly covid-19 friendly to me because of how spacious and wide it is. We proceeded to head to the counter and ordered a beef broiled burger that appeared similar to me as Carl's Jr., the competitor. My burger was called the Western Bacon BBQ burger, and it was actually taller than when I order through CJ's. That made me feel super delighted. The onion rings were actually super crunchy and very hot, it burned my tongue. That's a good sign. I don't like a cold burger. I prefer the skinny fries over the regular fries, because I don't like the potato filling in the fatter ones haha. I prefer a quick, easy, slim fry. I did forget to order it without relish as it tends to pull away from the savory feel a burger should have. A place having FAT and THIN fries is the difference between 3 stars and 4 stars. The fat burger in LA is my favorite. So good! But I just came to the one in aurora and it's nowhere near the same. First we showed up at 8:30 and all the chairs were already stacked even though they don't close until 9.
