Stopped here for brunch Saturday and I'm so happy we did! This might be my new weekend place- huge menu and our food came out very fast and it was all fresh and piping hot. I had the trio of fruit swirled French toast- it literally could have fed 4 people. I loved the raspberry one most, the hash browns were great as was the bacon and coffee. Went to breakfast with my kids. Found Nat's after searching for a bf restaurant. I would say, Fat Nat's is being added as one of my next favorite bf restaurant. I was hungry so my eyes are bigger than my stomach, thought portion size was small so I ordered extra to try and share. The food was good, portion was phenomenal enough to feed two. The vegetables were fresh and the egg benedict with avocado was yummy. I like my eggs omelette better. The pancake is fluffy soft. We ended up with extra food to take home. I like the food at Fat Nat's and there is always plenty of it. The restaurant gets very crowded for breakfasts on weekends. It gets very noisy and is not conducive to a leisurely breakfast. Service is usually pretty good. If you like Telmex for breakfast this is the place to go. read more

The ST. Anthony's location has a great interior and good service. I got the huevos rancheros chorizo with their house made salsa. Would definitely recommend. Very good portion sizes and was NOT left feeling hungry. I also got a side of hash browns which they serve in a shredded style. read more

We sat inside for breakfast and had no problem getting attention from the wait staff who kept our coffee cups brimming at all times. We arrived on a Sunday 12:00, thank God for the State Fair so didn't have a long line. My wife unexpectedly got the bacon cheese burger with French fries. She told me that one of the best burger she has ever had in MN. I ordered the "Elmer" breakfast, eggs scrambled with cheddar cheese, hash browns, 2 slices of toast and 2 gigantic full plate sized pancakes. My breakfast was very good exactly what I was expecting no disappointment. And yes I needed to take the pancakes home. The star of the show was my wife's burger and French fries. For those of you looking for a predictably good, solid meal at a great value, "Fat Nat's Eggs" is a must try location. We'll be back. read more

Well the other reviewer proved right on with their solid 4-stars. Yelp doesn't lie. Fat Nat's is now one of our go-to breakfast spots in the area. Say goodbye to the chain breakfast joints. It's an upscale greasy spoon kind of place...reminds me of the new version of the Bandbox downtown. The food was tasty, and made to order of course. We ordered a kid's breakfast and I had the Porterhouse Pork Chop meal. It was a lot of food lol. The kid's breakfast came with a nice pile of eggs, bacon, toast, and a pancake. My pork chop meal came with a decent size pork chop, a big pile of eggs, I opted for the American Fries, and toast as well. The food was well executed: eggs were cooked perfectly, the pork chop nicely seasoned and grilled, and our favorite part were the American fries, which were very nicely seasoned and fried on the griddle top with the right amount of browning. The only thing of note was that the pancake was slightly well done on the bottom side, so you had to work a little to cut it. It was not burnt though. Buyer beware though: service can be spotty, as the servers did not seem to have an assigned tables. There were two servers, but they just roam and you have to catch their attention. The guy, Tony, was way more attentive than the lady server though. Minus one star for not having the serving game on point. The prices are reflective of how expensive breakfast can get nowaday's. We did not order drinks, as we know that breakfast joints now regularly charge $3 for any drinks. We did order smartly, and shared our plates, so we walked out of there for a little over $20. I would say though for most folks expect that it would be between $12-15 per person. Compared to the Original Pancake House, or most of the bfast/brunch places on Yelp, other spots are pretty much at $15-20 per person now. read more

So, I like Fat Nat's. I really do. I love breakfast, I love businesses doing something a little different, I love non-chains. But maybe I just haven't found my Fat Nat's groove yet. If you've read any of my other breakfast reviews you'll see that I am always torn between savory and sweet. Add to the dilemma that I love "mexican" breakfast combos as well. But pancakes and Mexican don't really go great together in my mind. Hence....What do I order?! So, the pancakes are good. Super fluffy and yummy. Last time I was in I had the huevos rancheros con papas (carnitas). They were good, pretty spicy. The red salsa on the size was DOPE AF with the big chunks of onion. OMG. So good. Green sauce was good too. I think maybe it was one of these 2 that brought the heat. The problem was...I just felt like something was missing (toast maybe?) Or maybe I do better with meals that have 'parts' rather than a stack (eggs on meat on tortilla on potatoes) - like I like to taste each element of my meal rather than all of them together? So, because of this I think I just haven't found the best thing for me to order here to make me 100% satisfied. But don't get me wrong, it's good food! Service is usually pretty good/fast too. There are lot of options available and I was thrilled. The only problem was that they make omelet with 3eggs which is way way way too much for me. They don't do customization so don't even ask. Stack of blueberry pancakes with bacon - it was gigantic pancake with stuffed blueberry in it! The quantity is quite much! But I loved it. Yum. Best breakfast in the area, solid service, lots to try on this menu. They now have limited outdoor seating, a good thing bc on the weekend this place is packed! Two words describe Nats: hollandaise and chorizo. You may add large pancakes but that's two more words! Hollandaise bc they serve lots of egg Benedict versions and chorizo bc many of their dishes feature this tasty and somewhat spicy sausage. A good breakfast place should be able to make the traditional breakfast dishes and also should have some more innovative dishes. Sometimes, and especially in the morning if you're hungry, you don't want to play games. You just want the stuff you like and you want it to be properly made. Other days, you want to try something else. Have breakfast 'surprise you'. Well this place does both right. It has all the right stuff and it has some dishes that differentiate it from other places. The Benedicts are great and so is the French Toast. I'm sure other dishes are good too but I did not have a chance to try these yet. The Avocado Benedict is one of those innovative dishes I mentioned. I haven't seen them anywhere else yet. It's a great dish and the avocado is spicy so watch out. The only think that can be improved is if they used room temperature tomatos instead of chilled ones. Or maybe even grill the tomato? that would be awesome! There's plenty of parking and the dining area is nice and roomy. If you've read some of my other reviews you should know already that I like open kitchens. I mean, It's not like I'm going to supervise the kitchen staff now but I just like the idea that nothing is done behind closed doors. It also adds some 'action' to the scene. Yummy food, large portions, and excellent service! I finally tried a Fat Nat's breakfast today. I stopped by with my mother (visiting from 4 hours away) for a hearty brunch. I selected the David's Omelette. It's huge, stuffed with corned beef hash, and lathered with hollandaise sauce. It was large, flavorful, and filling. I ordered the toast and a side of hash browns. This was overkill because the hash browns portion was huge. My mother ordered a BLT with chips. I tried a some of her sandwich. It was good. Came for Sunday brunch. When you walk in, you just sign your name in at the front and they call you. It's nice to know how many people are ahead of you. There are tables and counter tops. I guess the counter tops are first come first serve so if you don't want to wait for a table, grab a counter top. I followed recommendations for the huevos rancheros con papas with chorizo. It was amazing! Great spice and blend of flavors. They offer two salsas and they both compliment the dish so well. We also ordered the Apple cinnamon French toast. It was so thick and filling! I am not a huge fan of hollandaise sauce, which they specialize in, but they have plenty of other options that don't have it already on it, so I went with this.
