Really tasty Chinese takeaway in Inverness.
Wife and I stayed 4 summer days in Inverness. This was about midway through our trip in Scotland, and as much as I love my haggis, tatties, and neeps, one can only have so much of it before needing a change of pace.
We decided to dine in our hotel room one evening with some Chinese takeaway. We found Fat Buddha just around the corner and gave it a shot.
Kinda fascinating that it's also a dish and chips shop too. Seems the locals love the FnC since when we were waiting, 7+ folks came through for the golden fried fish.
As for us, we ordered up the young chow fried rice, the salt and pepper shredded chicken, a prawn dish, and a spicy garlic tofu. Stopped by the grocery store on the way back for a couple of cans of Tennents and boom...dinner with a view of the castle (even with the orange construction fence).
The dishes were great, and the standout was the salt and pepper shredded chicken. Crispy, savory, with a little heat. Speaking of heat, the spicy garlic tofu packed a PUNCH. I needed a circa 1980's sweatband around my head.
If you're in the area and want to change it up for the palate, give this place a shot. read more
