I was so impressed with a Fat Boy's Pizza in Covington that I am making my very first Yelp review. I placed a custom order solely out of convenience recently while I was recovering from surgery and was very pleasantly surprised that this was more like a bistro style pizza than a greasy pie. The crust was just delicious and light with just the right amount of olive oil. All the ratio's were just right and the cheese even reheated beautifully. My belly even felt good after eating 2 slices for dinner and then two more for lunch the following day. I am kind of a health nut and pizza is usually a splurge for me, but I am now looking forward to my next order! Adding basil next time. :) read more

Another place that started strong yet has dropped the ball. Pizza is ok better pizza elsewhere size doesn't matter if it tastes like tomato brushed cardboard. You had a froze' daiquiris following yet haven't seen it in years. The chicken and burger sliders are a great addition though and taste great. Brought baseball team for championship pizza order a second pizza kids were leaving and did bring the second pizza went check they burned it and I said well I don't need it now can I just get a refund they said no! I was ok I divided it up and gave to remaining kids to take home but they did not even let me know it was delayed because it was burnt and had to be remade just pushed our food back an hour with no choice of refund. Manager awful customer service that day. It's chaotic atmosphere lazy servers no communication and always have to go to counter to grab attention for details on food. I like the interior. The ambience kind of reminds me of Pizza Hut back in the day when it was a sit-down restaurant. Everyone was really nice and the place was clean. I ordered a slice of supreme-style pizza and it was floppy. I was wondering if they used a microwave to heat it. Literally, just got home from Fat Boy's Pizza. I decided go there for lunch as haven't been there in a while. I was expecting a vibrant atmosphere, what I was greeted with however was a man manager that did not seem to want to be there at all. I sat at the bar, if you could call it that. If you do not have beer on tap, do not call it a bar. There was no bartender, I would have at least expected a bartender during what I thought would be a lunch rush. The metal chairs were extremely uncomfortable. The manager greeted me seemed nice, but completely dead eyed. I ordered 2 slices of pepperoni, tasted good but pricey. I noticed that they are now 2 different places. Fat Boy's and a Savvy slider. In my opinion sliders are a fad and not worth ruining a fine restaurant that was already established. I predict this place won't be open in six months. The pizza itself tasted OK but the service and the people that work there could care less about their customers and taking care of them. We got a pizza delivered with no napkins no plates no utensils no, nothing had to go get it ourselves. You can't even order a beer where you order the pizza you have to go to a separate bar to order there and then two people said they'd help me and left without helping me. Walked by on way back to the hotel after a night drinking on bourbon street. The menu price for one slice of pizza was way overpriced. The pizza was not my favorite, but was definitely needed. The slice is large but I would compare it to about the same size as a Costco or Sam's pizza slice, just a tad longer. Love the decor and theme of the pizza place! We use to LOVE fat boys! When Covington location opened we were very frequent customers. But tonight it was our last time. The last few times the food is dry, lukewarm warm, and seems like leftovers. This is my last "we'll give them one more try". It's always empty when I pass, they will run themselves out of business. Overall, use to be good, but not anymore. read more

I used to come to Fat Boys a lot (Metairie Rd) on lunch breaks or whenever I was in the mood for a slice. With Savvy Sliders opening up in partnership with them, I was anticipating the reopening. I've been there twice since the relaunch, once to try the burgers which was overwhelming to say the least and I came today to get a ceased salad, add shrimp.. The salad came premade in a plastic bowl, no real silverware, the shrimp were undercooked and super salty and the service took forever. I will not be coming back here again. read more

The slices were HUGE HUGE! The pepperoni that I got was great! I ordered 2 slices and could only finish one! I loved the interior, I'm sure it will be great for game days. This is my second time trying Fat Boy's pizza. My first time was in Baton Rouge. It's definitely yummy. I don't believe it's possible to have bad pizza. I guess it's just not my type. The size is fascinating. There wasn't a lot of sauce, cheese, or toppings which is usually what I look for. So there's nothing truly extraordinary about this pizza besides the size. Maybe it's your type of pizza. It reminds me of the typical New York style pizza. One slice of meat pizza will run you about $9 which is kinda pricey to me since it's not full of meat or cheese which is the pricey stuff. So far this place hasn't opened a dine in location, there is only a walk up food truck, but as they've put up a sign on the building, I'm sure the dine in one is imminent. I haven't been able to discern if there are set days when they show up, but I live right next to it so we can easily see when they are there. My family has rapidly become addicted to this pizza lol. We basically get it every time the food truck is open now. I feel like it's a very different type of pizza that isn't really offered in this area. First of all, the sizes are absolutely massive. But, it's also extremely thin, so you're not contending with a large amount of pizza dough. My personal favorites are the cheese and the triple cheese varieties. But every other kind has been great as well. A little goes a long way with this one, so if the price for a slice seems off putting its because one slice can go so far. read more

Great experience on their first night open. The staff in young high school kids that are very attentive and hard working. The restaurant itself has a very nice covered outside area and the inside is big enough to stay distanced. The pizza is very good as well as the mozzarella cheese sticks and the meatball app. The margaritas were surprisingly very good as well. Right now they are working from a food truck - a red one and it is like a magnet for my car!! They are in the parking of of the restaurant they are remodeling to occupy! OMG the pizza is just like New York pizza. My husband is from New York and finally a pizza he will eat! The slices are huge and you are guaranteed to overeat but it is sooooooo good!!
