Yesterday was St Patrick's Day, you know, the day everyone thinks they are green and goes out to drink Green Beer. Well, my Lovely Green Wife and I also went out to drink Green Beer. Now remember what I have always said; "Green is good for you". So, that means that Green Beer is also good for you. We both are decked out in our Green and off we went. Well, it not only happens to be St. Patrick's Day, but in San Angelo they are having a Pub & Grub Crawl with 15 different places to crawl too on the map that we have. We can do that - so off we went. We parked right in the middle of where they show five locations. We started our crawling and guess what, we only see three locations here. Two of the five are empty buildings. Anyway, we crawled across the street because that's what you're suppose to do on St. Patrick's Day, to the 'Fat Boss's Pub' because we know they have Green Beer. Crawled in and no one is here except one guy at the bar and the bartender. Took a seat and ordered two Green Beers. Bartender said they have that, but you're a day late. The Pub & Grub Crawl was yesterday. Now I feel like a fool. Anyway, we enjoyed our cold Green Beer on St. Patrick's Day and it went down real smooooooth. While we were there a bunch of girls crawled into the Fat Boss's Pub and we laughed because we know it's not the Pub & Grub Crawl day, who would do a thing like that. When we were leaving we stopped and one the the girls took our picture in front of the Four Leaf Clover set up the Fat Boss's Pub has for those that can get up off the floor. Fat Boss's Pub is a really nice place to enjoy a cold beer, green or not. The customers and staff here area cool people. read more

We came to San Angelo to avoid Hurricane Beryl on the Gulf Coast. We've seen the local sites and had a few adult beverages at local bars. Fat Boss's drinks were cold and vibe chill. Their Google listing showed a menu but upon entry we were told that was not correct. We were pretty disappointed because the menu was awesome, but I guess that is "the Abilene site". read more

This place is OK and based on my most recent experience is in the better half of bars in downtown. There was no cover and the drinks were reasonable, $6 for top shelf gin and tonic with generous amounts of gin. The look of the bar is nice and they have plenty of TVs but not a sports bar. My only real complaint is that on this visit, there was a DJ playing music. The music was loud enough you had to shout to be heard. While it's been years since my last visit, this seems to be the norm. Overall, this is a decent option if in downtown San Angelo. I'd return here but am in no rush to do so. read more

Fat Boss's - a sign for a restaurant - Pubs Near Me - San Angelo, Texas

Fat Boss's has a nice ambiance to it and the bartenders are certainly well experienced. I enjoyed my time with the crowed and the staff. The environment can get a bit stale, however, and will definitely leave you feeling left out if you are alone, this is a location I would come with a group of friends, not so much a first date experience. Bianca definitely hooked it up with my drink order though, she's was consistent and timely, making sure I never ran dry!! read more

Old building decorated with a dark interior. I recall most of the inside being black, but the few pics I took reveal otherwise. If you like a close dark interior, this is your place. The bartender was the manager, friendly fella that talked us through the draft beer offerings. The beers were priced reasonably and they had a small yet acceptable offering. We stayed for only one beer and were ready to grab some grub after a busy day on the town. As we left, the manager shared the place is about to undergo an extensive remodeling. Will be back in the future to check out the remodeled place. read more

So this bar definitely smells like old beer. Looks clean, nice bathrooms , but not enough space to fit the weekend crowd. My problem with this bar is the staff, specifically Bryan. I understand if it's busy, or if there's dishes you need to wash, but to just be an asshole to your customers and tell them you won't serve them because you "personally don't like" them, is trash. Even at that I've had to bark at bartenders to come refill my drink, because I've already finished my drink, the ice, waited 5 minutes, AND it's not even busy. It's sad. I've also heard bartenders say they don't wanna make certain shooters, they just wanna make straight shots, to pick something easy. I don't expect bartenders to stop what they're doing but if there's no one in the bar but me, you could at least take 3 minutes to small talk or upsell a drink, before you go stand on the opposite side of the bar and text on your phone. Just saying. I haven't been in the bar in months cause the service is trash, and when my friends and I go out we usually skip this one. read more

Overpriced drinks! Came for a party. DJ couldnt get the stereo equipment to work for over an hour, we listened to white noise. The guy keeping the door attempted to charge me multiple times for cover without stamping or giving wristband. Great and friendly staff but isn't anywhere I would want to come to again. read more

I'm definitely a bar snob and expect perfection. That said, as far as San Angelo goes, it's the closest to big city quality as I have found. Bar tops could be kept cleaner, maybe a little more hospitality from the bartenders, but it was still a good experience and I will return with friends. -Bathrooms we're clean. -Empty tables were immediately cleaned. -Wait time at tables is not too bad. I drink a lot of Jameson, so I know what Jameson tastes like. They water down their alcohol. I've bartended for a long time and I know this is a true practice and unfortunately I've found it out at this location. Otherwise atmosphere is cool and the beer is legit. read more

Walked up to the bar and ordered a drink and before the bartender handed it to me the manager said I had to leave because I was wearing a football jersey. Apparently that is against their dress code. Meanwhile down at the end of the bar the fat slob with his belly hanging out under his dirty t-shirt is good to go. Get real management, it's San Angelo. It must be nice to be doing so well that you can turn away money. I'm sure Grinner's was happy about the large bill I rang up that night. Won't go back. read more

This place is one of my favorites to go to downtown. I'm always pretty pleased at how I get my drinks in a decent timely manner even when it's totally packed. The music is always fun & the atmosphere is nice. Just wish they had a dance floor, theres always people dancing all up on each other while I'm trying to order a drink, it's awkward to have a couple grinding on each other while waiting in line. All in all its a cool spot. Their cucumber shots are to die for! read more

A cool place to hangout and drink with friends...great music, environment, and staff!

The music in this club is great for dancing, even though I didn't really notice a good place to dance in the building. The deal breaker here is the service at the bar... absolutely atrocious. Took 30 minutes to get 1 round of drinks, then 30 more minutes to try and close my tab. Yes, it was busy but to me this is unacceptably slow. The bar staff seemed totally overwhelmed or apathetic. read more
