I had an overall great experience with this moving company! The movers showed up a bit early and were very polite and hard working. It was a note day and our move required many steps and they never complained and had smiles on their faces the whole time. They managed to get everything done swiftly and carefully and were also very pleasant to talk with. I definitely trusted them being in our home and moving our things, you could tell they cared about their job and doing it right. The only small bummer was that they were unable to get our couch or love seat into our new home as they could not get them into the doorway. However, when my dad visited the next day he, myself, and my girlfriend were able to get them both inside and where they needed to be. This was stressful as it rained the night of our move and I had to run out and buy tarps to keep everything safe. Everything worked out in the end, and the movers did try very hard, but I do wish everything could have made it in day of. The only other small thing I wished would have been done differently - in the past we have always had movers who wrap up our dressers/night stands with this enormous Saran Wrap to keep drawers in place and also prevent scratching. I had thought this was quite standard but this company does not use that - causing drawers to slide out and contents spilling during the move. This was a small aside, but would have been nice! Overall we had a great experience and would hire these movers again! For their extremely fair price the few setbacks we had were fine. If I went back and made my decision again I would still hire Thrifty. read more

This is my first Yelp review ever, but I thought these guys deserved it. I had a weird move, from my old house to my new apartment, then to essentially a storage unit and back to the apartment; everything went smoothly. I wish I could remember my movers' names because they were professional, quick and conscientious. They asked a lot of questions about where things should go, if they should be moving certain things, etc.; which I really appreciated. Anyway, I would highly recommend these guys. I can't imagine that any other moving company could do a better job, and the price was extremely reasonable. read more

Over the years I've used only one moving company All My Sons moving in Columbus. I always felt over charged and left with many things I had to move on my own. This time I did a bit more research and took my time picking. So happy with Thrifty Movers! They arrived just a little before 9am with a 20ft truck (free upgrade from my 16ft request) my just a little after 10am they had me loaded up. Left from Grove City and off to Hilliard we went. They even unloaded the stuff I put in my car, odds and ends that didn't fit in boxes. They were highly efficient, kind and professional. Don't let the website scare you definitely an awesome crew and experience. Everything overall took just under 3 hours and I was so scared it was going to take longer! I used America's Choice/FastGood4Cheap Moving Service for an out-of-state move (OH to PA). They are awesome! They respond promptly to emails. They're VERY punctual upon pickup and drop off, friendly, professional, and most importantly, took good care of my stuff. The credit card option was great too, for people like me who don't always have cash on hand! (There's a convenience fee of 3 or so percent, which was reasonable) Don't judge their no-frills website - they don't need the frills! read more

They tried to change the price mid way through the move; they ripped off the door of my dresser and did not fix it; they piled EVERYTHING up in my livingroom! Even the bed and mattress. Here's a genuine review from someone that does a ton of research on literally any product or service I spend money on. I had just purchased a property across town, switching up from a 2 bedroom 800sq ft apartment to a 3500sq ft home (moving from NW side of town to SE side) and had gotten a ton of quotes putting me across the $1000 mark. We had moved a good majority of the items ourselves, like valuables and such, but we wanted to find someone to move our big pieces of furniture, all the big boxes, as well as our washer/dryer. None of our stuff we had obsessed over and needed white glove type service for, so we stumbled across these guys. I do digital marketing as a hobby, and these guys are very much no-frills when it comes to that. Thankfully, thats for a good reason. Most people talk about horror stories when talking about cheap movers, and you DEFINITELY will have a GREAT experience with these guys. They're up front about their policies and costs, as well as what they DO and DO NOT do. That's all I could ask for. Transparency is KEY to this business. I highly recommend doing what I did, and getting a quote using their website. Communication via email will give you a paper trail and there WONT be any miscommunication since you'll have everything right there. Not only that, they even give you a discount for going with that. We had gotten a quote for a 16ft truck and two movers for LESS THAN HALF of what other people quoted. The day of my move, these gentlemen were running a little behind because of their busy day (they still showed up on time for us!) so because of the inconvenience, Michael HIMSELF showed up with 3 other guys to get our move done as quickly as possible, and not only that, but with a 20ft truck! He informed me up front that they were going to load up to 16ft of the truck, and I was welcome to pay a small amount extra to be able to use the full truck, to which I agreed. They loaded up extremely quick (my entire move was done in less than 4 hours, from arriving at the old place to leaving the new place!) and Michael did a great job of having them strategically load the truck up, using moving blankets along the way to make sure nothing gets scratched up or shifts around badly. After it was all said and done, they didnt even charge me the extra amount because I only went about 2 feet over. Needless to say, everything went smoothly, nothing was broken (I waited till I assembled everything and went through all of my stuff to write this review) and everyone was genuinely pleasant to work with. The key factor here, coming from a customer service background myself, is that if you want to receive a good experience and be treated fairly, you have to be courteous, punctual, and nice to people. Especially when receiving a service like this. I'm sure that anyone that may have had a poor experience, just was bitter from the start. Work with these guys, even if you have issues, and don't get frustrated, and they'll take good care of you. Needless to say, all of my stuff got moved across town in one piece and had no need to call these guys back for anything. Moving genuinely is stressful, and if I were to ever do it again, I know I'll pick these guys for sure. Good job fellas. read more

I had Jake and Trav help with my move. They where both professional and took care of every item them moved, as if it was their own. Jake was the senior mover and did a great job loading the truck carefully and had plenty of tips and tricks to move the more awkward and fragile items. You can tell they take great pride in their work. They did a great job at a very fair price. I would definitely use them again. P.S. I know their website is a bit overwhelming, but you owe it to yourself to at least get a quote from these guys. You won't regret it. read more

Great movers! A coworker recommended them due to the low price and her experience using them three separate times. Our experience was just as positive. Jake and Trey were our movers with Jake the head mover. They were extremely professional, respectful, and responsible. They showed up early in the move window, did a great job, moved everything quickly and competently, and asked questions about our more fragile items to make sure they treated them carefully. The quoted price was exactly what we paid. We will definitely use them again for any Columbus moves! As other reviewers have said, don't let the unique website and cash preferred (cards are accepted with a convenience fee) deter you. Terrible customer service don't be fooled by the fake reviews I scheduled a move and requested a 20 foot truck. The day before my move I called to discuss my move,and was spoken to VERY rudely which turned out to be the boss. Told me do I want it or not I can go somewhere else. The movers arrived in a 16 foot truck and told me it'll take 6 hours to move me and multiple trips which would've been ALOT more than I was quoted. I had to cancel the move and scramble to find new movers to move me because ALL of my items were packed. I would NOT recvomend this company! Update I'm being called a liar and a crook for telling the truth but yet he has called me FIVE times from different numbers to take my review down who's really a liar and crook? Furthermore what real business owner speaks that way about a potential customer,?? Update I blocked him from one email address he's still an hour and a half later harassing me from a different email address. This man is really crazy he's been emailing me for 2 days straight harassing me calling me racial slurs. Here we are 10 days later and he's still going on a rant about things I forgot to add he threatened to "blast" my address on fb too you really don't want me to post links of all the filthy things you've said to me just let it be everything I've said is true if it wasn't you wouldn't still be here 10 days later still ok a crazy rampage you're just mad that I blocked you from harassing me so this is the next best thing to do it on your erratic behavior really scares me as you all see you don't want to do business with this type of person he will literally harass you for days if you post the truth you've scared others with your tactics you won't scare me I know all of my rights now good day I'm done responding! read more

I hired these movers to help me move my half of a 2br townhouse. The movers, Scotty and John called me when they were on their way, arrived on time, and did a great job moving everything. They were friendly and hardworking and took good care of my belongings. I had to empty a 55 gal aquarium as they were moving, and they were great about letting me put the tank and stand in the truck last with 5 gal buckets containing the fish. They unpacked everything quickly at my new place as I set the tank up, and I couldn't be happier with their service. Their prices were very affordable but they did not compromise on quality. Honestly, I was skeptical at first due to the price they quoted me as normally you "get what you pay for." Every other place I got a quote from was 2-3 times as much. Boy was I wrong. Let's start with the back office. They replied promptly to my request for a quote. They also sent emails to confirm time and make sure there were no changes. When I did need to change something they replied promptly and politely and updated my quote accordingly. I think communication is preferred via email to keep a paper trail. Which is good for both parties involved. They sent a bigger truck than what I requested, which I'm glad they did as I left out some things on my original quote and REALLY needed that extra space. We were moved by Spencer and Jeff. They were some of the most polite and hard working guys I've met. They arrived early in the delivery window. They got everything to fit without having to do an additional trip. These guys worked their butts off. Made sure everything was where I wanted it to go and didn't complain about anything and worked hard for the bigger, not easy items to fit inside. There were no hidden fees, everything is priced out and you see exactly what you are paying for. If it wasn't for using all the space in the bigger truck my price I paid would be what I was originally quoted. Don't let the website or cheap pricing deter you from them. They accept cash or credit card (with a fee). I would recommend and use this company again in a heartbeat. read more

These guys were incredibly efficient! We had Brandon and Daniel come to one apartment to haul out a washer and dryer then went to the house I was moving from. All of that took about an hour and a half. They were so incredibly strong and efficient in loading up the truck and doing so in a way that protected my belongings. My new place has 32 stairs to go up... and they didn't even slow down! I was so impressed with the ability to load up the new house with heavy furniture, boxes and appliances. Not only were they efficient, but they are a very affordable price at $60 an hour. For $300 (with a $100 tip -- they were awesome!) we were done with our moving in under 3 hours. I don't think I've ever seen 2 guys work harder in my life! Romance and Chris didn't let any challenging piece of furniture or narrow staircase defeat them. They were friendly and maintained a positive attitude. The whole move had become exhausting and at one point, both of them gave me a pep-talk and made me laugh.
