Formal Complaint - Poor Service, Property Damage, and Unprofessional Conduct This company and its staff were disorganized, damaging, delayed, dismissive, condescending, unaccountable, careless, and overall highly unprofessional. I strongly advise proceeding with caution. My move took place on March 13th and was poorly executed from start to finish. A job estimated at three hours took well over six hours due to inefficiency and lack of coordination. During the move, my property was mishandled, resulting in a broken mirror and damage to the walls. Communication throughout the process was minimal and disorganized, with no clear updates or accountability. I was also charged an unexpected $500 overtime fee. While this fee was eventually refunded, the circumstances raise serious concerns. I was informed that a full refund would not be considered because, in the company's history, they "do not do that," and that as long as the move was completed, the quality of service was irrelevant. While interactions with Shayne (Branch Manager) were frustrating at times, he did make efforts within his authority and indicated that approval was needed from Ben (Regional Manager) to process a full refund. It was implied this would be approved, and Shayne appeared confident in that direction. However, once escalated, communication became inconsistent. Ben was unavailable, and this was later referenced as a reason for delays. When I spoke with Brian (CMO), the response did not reflect a thorough review. Instead, assumptions were made, the tone was patronizing, and there was no meaningful effort to resolve the concerns. At no point was there accountability, de-escalation, or empathy. This experience raises serious concerns regarding service quality, communication, and leadership accountability. Proceed with extreme caution. read more

this will be our fifth local move with MVM Toledo. they are reliable, efficient, hardworking and top notch. each member of the team sets a high standard for service! Would highly recommend! MVM Toledo should be your first and only choice!!! read more

I can't say enough great things about MVM. I was in a serious bind after getting scammed by another company and with less than 2 days until my move, I had to explore other options. By some kind of miracle, MVM had availability for that Saturday to move me from Columbus to Cleveland. The team was kind, professional, and prompt. They were friendly and took great care of my items. There were only two guys moving stuff out of my two bedroom apartment, but they worked quickly and efficiently. I moved in to an old house that had some tight squeezes to work through. Not once did they complain or huff and puff as they worked to get my couch through a narrow doorway. They charge by the hour (aside from if you have any special items, such as a piano) and there aren't any hidden fees. And unlike some other companies, your items are the only ones on that truck, nor do they make multiple pickups and stops. Very straightforward and simple. MVM made what was initially an incredibly stressful situation painless. I have already recommended them to friends and would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

Went with one of those national companies initially for my move from Ohio to Virginia, but cancelled when I started finding shady information about them and their demeanor changed as soon as they got my deposit. Decided to just go local and found this company on yelp. Their prices were almost as cheap as the national company, but the quality and professionalism was 1000x better than the other company. These guys communicated everything with me clearly, explained the prices even when I got confused (this was the first time I used movers). The service was just as good. They came to my place at the time they said they would to pick up all my stuff and were super friendly throughout the whole ordeal. Moved quickly and took great care of all my stuff, packed it in the truck perfectly. The same driver then drove my stuff to Virginia and the guy that came with him on that trip unloaded with just as much care. They even disassembled my furniture and reassembled at the new location, so I didn't have to mess with my beds, couches, or tables. At no point did I ever think that I was getting anything less than an amazing deal. These dudes were worth every penny for the work and care they put in. They also saved me a huge headache so I didn't need to get a u-haul and then tow my car a few states over. I'd recommend them to anyone considering a move, rather in state or out of state. read more

MVM Moving & Storage - This dude was super professional, just like everyone else I dealt with from this company. - Movers Near Me - Hilliard, Ohio

The two guys they sent were excellent. Both Quinyone and Nathan took care of business and wasted no time. I highly recommend this company.

If I could give more than 5 stars to this company, I would. Not only have I had this company move me twice (the second time was 3 months ago--they were so great the first time, I didn't bother looking for anyone else when I just recently moved), I recently recommended MVM to a friend. MVM moved my friend today and I just got a text from that friend who agreed that this company is great! Not only is their pricing incredibly reasonable, MVM goes above and beyond from the start to the end of your move. If you are looking for movers, this company will not disappoint. read more

I needed a one bedroom apartment moved to a Uhaul location in West Columbus and the contents loaded into too Uhaul containers to be shipped out of state. Theo and Johnny were the movers who helped me. They were friendly and worked hard. Moving from my apartment to the truck and the way they loaded the truck was great. Unloading the truck and into the Uhaul containers was more challenging. Tetris experience was needed, so I jumped in to help with the arranging and tight packing. It was a team work situation. I recommend. read more

They made our moving experience tolerable. Nice folks to work with and reasonably priced. Will definitely use again.

Hired these guys to move the big furniture pieces during a recent move and they were great! They really hustled.. at one point they were basically jogging carrying what is without a doubt the heaviest thing I own. I was blown away. They were quick, but most importantly they were also careful when going through doorways and up stairs so there was no damage. I would definitely call them again! As a note, family members have used them on 2 separate occasions and also had great experiences. read more

They promptly came to my apartment and were so polite! They box, wrapped, and hauled away everything I needed moved. Amidst the move, they made nice small talk. When they arrived at our house, they encountered a few issues with our furniture and stayed until it was finished. We were already planning to go to home depot to finish it but they already had! Nice crew and would absolutely use them again! Thanks, Theo, Ryan, and Sean! read more

They were very professional, took great care of my stuff, were very timely and exceeded all me expectations. It was great that I had my own truck and the same person responsible at both ends of the move. I would recommend them every time to anyone read more

We just finished getting everything off the truck and let me just say that they were PHENOMENAL. Today we had the pleasure of meeting James and Andre and not only were they friendly and funny, but they were crazy efficient. We started 8:30a-ish and we literally just finished (11:07a). Not only did they take our furniture, they allowed us to have some boxes/bins on the truck as well! We hope we don't have to move again for the next few years but if we do we know which company we're picking. read more

I used MVM for my move within Fort Wayne. I gotta tell you I was utterly blown away by the service. From the office scheduling (thanks Joe and Kristin) to the movers (thanks Christian and Jeremy) everything was flawless. I would give more stars if I could. The movers were so efficient!!! read more

We recently (Feb 2019) had a large, long distance move from the Midwest to the east coast. I cannot say enough good things about Jermaine Haithcock and his assistant Shawnn Siders for everything they did to get our move completed. We had a huge problem with the original moving company we contracted, and were left not even knowing if the move would happen. We were SO lucky that Jermaine stepped in and saved the day for us!!! He showed up at our home, he was polite, respectful, honest, professional and THE hardest worker we have ever seen!!! He carefully wrapped all our furniture and he packed the truck quickly and efficiently. Upon delivery we did not have one broken item, no damage, no crushed boxes and every item accounted for! Everything arrived in perfect condition!!! He and his assistant Shawnn were efficient and worked quickly, taking great care with our things and we were so appreciative. We have had 12 moves over our lifetime, some local and some long distance. Some through the military and some that we have personally contracted. We have never had a moving experience this professional and with this much care. Without hesitation I recommend Jermaine Haithcock and Shawnn Siders for any move, long distance or local! They are honest, respectful, they charge a reasonable rate, and they work quickly and with much care. Do not hesitate to use them for your move. We have additional items that we need moved and we will 100% be using Jermaine and Shawnn in the future. read more

We had the MVM Moving company move a upright piano and the team of Israel, Gabe, & Christian did a great job moving the piano very carefully, loaded and transported the piano to it's new owner and moved it agin very safely and carefully. I want to Thank these young men a job well done in moving the family piano to the next genration. Thank you Israel, Gabe, Christian. Thanks, Tim Johnson read more

Fast and efficient, took great care of our items. We definitely plan on using them again for any future moving needs.

We have retained MVM twice to move our household and both times they were fantastic. Our most recent move required part of our furniture moved to a storage unit and the rest to an apartment; Tre L and Thomas took care of the move in October and were professional, pleasant, hard working and smart. They really knew their business and it was such relief to work with them. I would highly recommend this company, They managers were great , they even changed our moving date without any problems and arranged for our mover to pack all of prints and framed posters. Trey and Thomas never stopped working, and when I unpacked everything was fine! Jody k read more

MVM kindly arranged to move a studio's worth of furniture and belongings into storage on fewer than 24 hours' notice. Tre and O were friendly, efficient, and patient, and they infused a stressful moving situation with calm and positive energy. We remain deeply thankful for their help and for the quick and organized response from MVM. We will absolutely be using them for future moves. read more

The movers started off by wearing mask but at the end of the morning their mask were no where to be found. Additionally, they arrived to the move around 9:15 and were finished at 11 but I was charged for 3.5 hours because their charge starts from the time they leave their building- not when they get to your house. And then their end time is when they get back to their garage- not when they leave your house. A little annoyed by this especially because the movers called me the morning of the move and said they were stopping for breakfast and then would be on their way- which was part of my "hired" time for them read more

The movers were very quick and pleasant to work with. They were respectful to my property and worked faster than any other moving company that I've worked with! Very professional and nice gentleman. read more

Very poor quality mover. Employees are rude and disrespectful. The quality of the handling of customers merchandise is very poor. Employees are lazy and try to make a 5 hour move into a all day event to get pad for entire day. Management does not respond to customer complaints. read more

Stellar moving company! Moving is very stressful when you have little ones, I am so glad I contacted this moving company to help my family move in to our new home. Malik and Tyler arrived at the specified time and they were polite, professional, careful, strong, and energetic! There is no way my husband and I could have done this move so quickly and efficiently without their help! Thank you so much Malik and Tyler for assisting us with our move! Do not hesitate to hire this company, you will have a great experience! read more

Yelp never lets me down and this choice did not prove wrong. The experience was painless which is not typical of moving, easy to schedule with short lead, and reasonable. The crew was amazing, Tyler and Jermaine, they hustled, were super conscious on handling, while being so polite and professional. Wouldn't let me lift a finger, totally amenable to my requests and couldn't have been nicer about it. Only advice I would give is call to confirm your move time the day of, arrived slightly later than I expected however manager joined them to help. If you are about to move MVM is a great choice. read more

I used them to move after living at the same residence for 17 years so I had a lot to move. They were far cheaper than anyone else by almost 2k. It didn't go smoothly they were over booked it took a week because only some time here and their. Which worked better getting unpacked. Over all very little was broken or scratched and they had some come and fix it. I will gladly use them again they were 4K cheaper than the highest guy. I'll go through some mild headaches for 2k to 4K any day and not to say the other would be better I have no idea. read more

Very professional and accommodating. Made a logistically complex move very simple, definitely recommend MVM.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. The local, Columbus supervisor, Lance is not a trustworthy person. He wasn't forthcoming during the estimating process with the additional charges for mattress bags and TV boxes. After giving me an estimate that was 3.5 hours longer than any other company, I spoke with Lance about revising the estimate because I was fearful the crew would work at a pace on par with the extra long estimate. He assured me multiple times that the crew NEVER knows the estimate and they will work fast. That simply wasn't the case. Most of the crew (4 guys) that came were young and very inexperienced movers. One of the guys cared more about what music was playing on his headphones than doing any work. When the rest of the guys started to get on him for being slow he said "We have three more hours left on this estimate!" I was beside myself when I heard that. Not only were they intentionally moving slow, but they did in fact know the estimated hours! When I called Lance afterwards to express my concern for the crew and how I knew that he lied to me, he had no interest in discussing the matter, had more excuses and a terrible demeanor. I spent $2600 to move 5 miles. The customer service was AWFUL, the supervisor is a LAIR, and the crew was SLOW. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. read more

Today I moved from Columbus to Cleveland, and am so glad I hired MVM to help. I found MVM through thumbtack, and was initially given a quote from Tim, the manager. He was so thoughtful, thorough and kind. Really easy to work with, and made me feel like he was just helping me, as opposed to selling me on anything. R.J. and Jacob were my movers, and they were seriously such a pleasure. They were careful, really attentive, and made this whole process such an easy one. I couldn't be more impressed with their professionalism and demeanor. Thanks guys! read more

TERRIBLE customer service. I called, and spoke to the manager. He informed me it was after hours, but he guessed he could help me. He e-mailed me the estimate. I e-mailed him back and let him know we were going with someone else. He frantically called, leaving a message that I must have understood, followed by an e-mail. read more

I moved into my first home this past Saturday, and having never used a moving company before, I was pretty nervous. Aaron and Johnathan were so amazing with the work they did. Aaron talked me through every step in the process, cracked a few jokes, and made sure I was comfortable during the whole process. At the end of the day the move went so smooth, and I ended up paying less than I was quoted. This is a fantastic company, I'm so glad I went with them for my move! read more

Hire this company if you ever need to move. They were on time, respectful and professional. I appreciated their concern for not just my home and my items but overall safety. My movers were Giovanni and Jermaine. Both were a delight, very personable and very polite. I also have to mention Lance who helped set up my appointment. His customer service was top notch. It gets better. They came in almost 30% per hour less than the well known competitor here in Columbus. I took a chance and it paid off well! read more

The movers themselves were nice and accommodating, but everything else was horrible. We were quoted WAY LESS than we ended up paying, and I had to contact them about billing errors several times. I also had to ask for a confirmation to be sent to me after booking / paying. While they corrected any errors made, they were hard to work with and made my move more stressful than it should have been. Would NOT recommend. read more

The movers themselves were quick, polite and helpful. They were great. Really I'd hire them again in a second. I had problems with the management who scheduled them. They said the movers would be there hours before they could because they did not seem to allow time for the previous appointment, nor did they seem to factor in travel time. Any move is going to have problems and setbacks and few of them go as smoothly as mine did (I just had a washer and dryer). If that's going to happen, you should give a larger time window, or update the customer. read more

Worst moving experience ever!! They were three hours late and damaged my personal items. I received a phone about the tardiness 15 minutes before my scheduled time. I trusted this company with my belongings. Lance is completely unprofessional and insulted me when I asked for discount or refund. I am writing this review to warn customers of the terrible customer service. Would NOT EVER recommend. read more

I had RJ and Jacob haul a piano and couch for me. They were EXTREMELY friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this company.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! We contacted them to move us after a long distance move to columbus. They told us they would have someone help us unload our truck on a saturday afternoon when we arrived at our house. They NEVER showed up. We called multiple times and of course it was a weekend and no one would call back. We were left with no help. I called on Monday to ask why, and we weren't on their schedule. They said they don't set up jobs that late. Please hire a moving company that follows through and shows up!! read more
