Terrible experience. We had a delivery scheduled the other day and they said they couldn't do it and drove off. Then they came two days later(today 2/4)and said our items wouldn't fit. Forcing my boyfriend (who just found out he needs knee replacement!) to show them how to do their job. One of the guys kept saying "f this and yelled f that" outside where all the neighbors could here. So unprofessional! I'd NEVER recommend these LAZY "movers". My boyfriend carried the items in and proved it would easily fit. They just didn't want to do it and complained the entire time. I was able to move the item they claimed weighed 450 pounds. I've never had a more terrible experience with movers. Ever. read more

Old Man and a Van moved a bunch of furniture into storage for me. While the workers were polite and appeared to work hard, I was totally devastated to see the condition of my furniture when I recently visited my storage unit. My dining room table is ruined. They appeared to roll it on the ground towards the storage unit instead of picking it up and carrying it. Please see attached pictures. When I reached out to the Company, I was told I would hear back. I didn't. I contacted them again and gave them another opportunity to offer a fair resolution to my destroyed furniture. They simply blew me off. Please see attached text exchange. This table was $3000+. It is destroyed. I also noticed my bed frame had scratches on it. It is just shocking that this would happen and the moving company would do NOTHING. I recently used Black Tie Moving and had a heat experience. Check them out instead. read more

The guys are rock stars! They are efficient and faster than you can imagine. They are careful and wrap things in their quilted blankets if fragile. They work by the hour and very fair. I used them to stack everything in storage and to move everything to an apartment. They did a great job! read more

One Old Man and a Van did a fantastic job on a last minute move for my daughter. My daughter was moving from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 1 bedroom apartment in Columbus and my husband and son could not make the trip from Texas to help me due to travel issues. I immediately called them and Beth was able to help me schedule a meeting for a quick walk through on the current apartment the same day as our phone call which was a Wednesday. They came and assessed our move and quoted us a very reasonable amount and we were scheduled for the move that Friday morning. The crew was on time and they worked quickly but carefully in moving all of the items. They shrink wrapped the furniture accordingly to prevent damage from the transport. They took apart the dining table and put it back together once it was in the new apartment. They were extremely attentive to detail and asked where each item needed to be placed in the new apartment. It was very helpful and the process was very organized. The team did a great job and completed our move in less than 2 hours!! We've moved 6 times including cross country and in-town. This was hands down our smoothest move and the best company we have ever used. Josh and crew showed up to provide and estimate and really took his time, asked lots of questions and helped to work out the logistics of a 2-day, multi-site move. The crew that came were early (!), extremely polite and personable and took extremely good care of our possessions plus the walls and flooring. Hired for unloading assistance. Experience was great! Two individuals arrived in the timeframe provided and went at unloading a rental truck. I requested an old treadmill be brought up from the basement and another brought down, both heavy heavy heavy. They made sure to take their time and did not damage anything. I had most items ready to roll, including blankets on the floor (raining) along with removing doors where needed. The job was done in great speed and the movers were respectful. They moved with precision and worked well given the pandemonia going on in my home (garage being refinished concurrently). In terms of the real pandemic, they wore masks and gloves as requested to ensure safety was kept. Would recommend them and would use again for any local moving help. One suggestion I'd make is to have those footies so when it's raining or snowing there leaves no room for issues with dirtying up floors. Other than that, moving is stressful, there is both an intrinsic and explicit value in those that help to alleviate the stress. One Old Man a Van did for me! read more

I am so happy with the level of customer service I received. I had a small job, move a washer and dryer from second floor laundry to a new house and install. I had some questions regrading the dryer hookup and the movers plus Tim, the owner, helped out with answering all the questions and solving the challenge. Old Man and a Van moved me from my house of 30 years to another house. We had accumluated a large amount of possessions over the years. The team work were very pleasant, respectful, careful and they communicated well. Nothing was broken or damanged. The price was lower than other companies and because they moved me in quickly (5 1/2 hrs because they used 3 trucks and 6 men), they came in under the price they quoted. I only needed 5 or 6 big item furniture moved that a friend was giving me since she was moving out of state and didn't want to take anything back with her, mind you... not a whole household. Several moving companies gave me a high quote which I found unreasonable for a few items. The guys did a great job and was quick. They handled the furniture with care and wrapped some with plastic wrap if needed. Placed furniture where I needed it as well. If you need a partial move or small load, they are the company to use VS 2 men and a truck. read more

I needed help moving my mother's belongings out of an Assisted Living Facility which is challenging during these times of Covid-19. I had contacted another moving company previously, but on the day of the move, the driver informed me after pulling up to the address that he was unable to go in due to restrictions by their company of not being allowed to enter any Senior Living facilities. When I made the appointment with this company I shared that it was an Assisted Living community and never kept that a secret. The person making the arrangements apparently didn't hear this and needlessly wasted my time (and the driver's) and caused me to start at square one again. I then contacted One Old Man and a Van. Josh called me back in a timely manner, confirmed that his employees would enter the facility (2 allowed) and retrieve the belongings and then bring them to my house as requested. Luckily, I only had to wait 48 hrs. The day of the move, the gentleman were even quicker than I imagined and had the belongings delivered to my house within an hour of retrieval and put the items where I requested (in the garage and a front room). They wore masks, were timely, and polite. Though I had prepacked the boxes, emptied the dresser, and broken down the bedframe...they handled things smoothly and respectfully. The price was extremely reasonable at $155 for just an hour's labor and travel time. I was happy to add a tip to the amount. I had a short notice local move for my brother moving into an assisted living center. Scheduling the move was quick and easy. The appointment time was 1:00 but Braxton and Zach called at 11:15 and asked if they could come early at 11:45 - GREAT! They took all the items that needed to be moved, which included a few items of furniture and some oddball bags and small boxes. The truck was loaded in 15 minutes and items were carefully wrapped and stowed. The guys worked well with the folks at the assisted living place and the rules. Great customer service - always asking where something should be placed and/or moved. Super friendly and very professional team! Everything showed up just perfect. Everything was accomplished in just under and hour. Wow! Braxton said they can do all kinds of local move or just helping move big/odd items, even moving heavy items in a home. I will definately use these guys in the future for my heavy or odd size moving needs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (and I have moved 10 times with the military and a company so I know movers and moving)!!! read more
