I decided to leave the store before I escalated the situation. This manager needs to be fired or highly reprimanded!!

This store has huge contractor items like compressors, pressure washers, lawn mowers and even vehicle jacks at retail prices. Today, I noticed blue half off price tags listed as ITC under select items. I asked an employee what was ITC. He explained that its a Harbor Freight membership club called "Inside Track Club" and for $29.99 customers can join to receive deep discounts. Basically, if you buy a $60.00 item and get half off it would pay you back the cost of the membership.

However, as soon as I paid for the item, it was like a light switch flipped and she became very rude. I asked her one simple question, but she immediately said she didn't have a tech available to ask. She basically pushed me out of the office and sent me to the back to wait for the springs to be made. I walked out thinking the whole interaction was strange. Thankfully, the guys in the back were great. Every one of them greeted me with a positive attitude and excellent customer service. I ended up buying a pair of torque bars as well. It took a little while to find my receipt because it had gone to my spam folder. During that process, one of the guys suggested it might be easier to go to the front desk and have the lady help me. I jokingly replied, "I don't feel comfortable -- she might bite." The guys laughed and one of them said, "Sorry, I've heard this before." After talking with them more, it became clear this behavior is apparently common, and the employees in the back are tired of dealing with it too. One employee even asked me to explain what happened while she was standing right there. I told her that she is the first person representing the company, and her customer service was terrible. I also explained that she had been pleasant and helpful at the beginning, but then suddenly changed her attitude. I told her I work in customer service too, and if I were her boss, I would either discipline her or let her go. This post is not meant to hurt the business. They make a fine product at a reasonable price. Honestly, this review is more for the hardworking guys in the back who were professional, friendly, and had great attitudes throughout the entire experience. Hopefully the problem gets fixed -- or eliminated.
