Special tater tot hot dish slice
Steph S.

This place is just cool all the way around. It's a large space and has some cozy booths to hang out in. I love all the lighting. But the most important part...the pizza! It was flavorful and creative. Service was super fast too! Would definitely return.

Totally rad Caesar ($6) - love the vegan Parmesan w/ vegan ranch dressing. The vegan special slices were yummy! I also liked the vegan knight rider. Excellent service! The server was so nice. The food came out so quickly! I loved the environment. Lots of retro games from pin ball to pac-man. Our dinner was affordable. I would come back and sit in the back patio. It was very cute with the fountain and turf. Fun mural too.

We were on foot, mid-afternoon in the neighborhood, and looking for something quick and good. Fast Times came through on both accounts. One of the many pandemic downsides seems to have been that fewer pizza places are open at lunch time. I'm happy to be able to add another place to my list of spots that are open mid-day. My wife had a very nice slice with mushrooms, sausage, and spinach. I went with classic cheese, and both of us were happy with our choices. Service was exactly what I hoped for - friendly and fast. The ambience is just right for a by-the-slice establishment - dark walls with large colorful artwork, and a few pinball machines adding an additional splash of color. It's great to know that this kind of place still exists.

This place took over the old Sizzle Pie spot off Burnside. The interior layout is pretty much the same with some addition of arcades and pinball machines. It had the late 80s vibes with some retro pictures that brings me back to childhood. I had a quick slice of pepperoni pizza before my next event. It was a decent slice and $1 off because it was happy hour. I need to try the soft serve next time I visit.

I was just in the area and thought I'd check out a new spot. I loved the vibe and the music. I appreciated the broad range of slice options. The staff were friendly, and the seating was comfy. My two slices were quite tasty. The crust was just shy of perfect in a way I couldn't quite put my finger on. It was wonderful crisp with a slight fluff. It was just a smidge chewier than I wanted. I loved the fun peppers flakes they had instead of the standard stuff. I have a soft spot for any and all hatch chile things from my time in Colorado. They definitely pack some beautiful heat. Would totally come back some time!

Vegan pizza by the slice!! So awesome!

Vegan Pizza by the Slice!!! I discovered Fast Times on a trip to Portland that was planned with plant-based restaurants in mind. That being said, Fast Times was not initially on my radar as they recently opened and I was lucky enough to discover them while I was there. I love the variety this pizza shop offers and was so stoked to actually be able to order a slice of pizza. It was an awesome feeling to able to order a single slice like my non-vegan friends have done over the years at shops with no options for me. There were two vegan slice options available during my visit vegan cheese and SHE - RA with vegan garlic sauce, vegan sausage, roasted red pepper, basil, and vegan mozzarella. I love everything about it and was especially impressed with the garlic sauce and how well the vegan mozzarella melted. Fast Times also offers plant-based soft serve. While the swirl was not yet available due to the restaurant still in the early stage of opening, the vanilla soft serve was absolutely amazing and the perfect sweet treat after pizza. Vegan or not, check this place out!

Vegan Goonies Never Say Die

They serve pizza till 4AM, need I say more. But it's actually good perfect after the club meal. Pizza is not greasy, crust is perfectly cooked and not thick or too thin. Great selection of vegetarian, vegan, and meat pies. Absolutely, will return and tell others or bring others. It is also a great hang out spot too.

Vegan! Just Like Heaven.

Fast Times is the latest creation from Sizzle Pie co-founder Matt Jacobson. It's even housed in the original location of Sizzle Pie on East Burnside Street. Similarly, the menu has sections dedicated to meat pies, vegetarian pies, & vegan pies. I ordered delivery via DoorDash last evening. I tried the Goonies Never Die (olive oil, vegan chicken, vegan mozzarella, red onion, pineapple, jalapeno, bbq sauce) & the Just Like Heaven (red sauce, vegan ricotta, finished with olive oil, basil, & sea salt). Both pies were perfectly cooked & $28 for an 18-inch pizza in Portland these days feels like a bargain. I look forward to trying more of Fast Times' vegan offerings, including a selection of four salads with vegan ranch. They also offer vegan ice cream for those who like sweets. Welcome to the neighborhood, Fast Times!

First time order, but won't be the last. 12 in. Spiccoli add mushrooms & basil. It was GREAT! Crust, red sauce, amounts of topping, ALLL of it. I'm pleasantly amazed.

If I was a billionaire, I'd invest in this shop to open a second location by me in Maine. Small batch and homemade, these ice creams are luscious and delicious. They are not sickly sweet, and they don't need to be. They really let the flavors shine on their own. The thai iced tea is my favorite flavor, though the fresh banana is up there too. This trip already I have visited once IRL and later I ordered a shake from them for delivery to my hotel, which was great! No drop in quality there and they drew a cute little note. The service has always been amazing throughout the years. Got to meet THE Miss Oz herself one visit too! Scoops or in shake form, it's a must visit when we find ourselves back in PDX!

Employees were helpful, not necessarily friendly. You e got a good array of vegan options. It was good, but the coconut stood out quite a bit (I do like coconut). I ended up with one of the 4 grass-fed dairy options, all the good things, which had caramel ice cream, chocolate swirl and fudge and peanut butter chips. It was good. I had it in a waffle cone for $2 more, bringing my half scoop and cone to $5, I believe. The waffle cone was yummy. I wouldn't say the ice cream was anything more special than you can get in your freezer, but nice to have an option out if you're plant-based. Sorry I forgot to take a photo of the ice cream.

It's upscale ice cream... are you expecting to be disappointed?…read more I'm sure you at least know Salt & Straw by reputation... it's the preeminent ice cream chain in Portland. And for good reasons! The flavors, taste and experience are truly phenomenal. I typically try to visit during the day so that there isn't a long line. If you come anytime after 6 PM, expect to wait a while. It's just that good! The staff is always incredibly friendly and they will let you sample as many flavors as you like before you decide. They have standard staples for flavors and then seasonal ones that rotate every few months. This particular location has very little seating so you should plan to take yours to go. I recommend enjoying it while you stroll on NW 23rd. Otherwise, the staff will be happy to pack up a scoop for you and/or you can take a pint to go! Parking is a typical challenge for this area, but prices are reasonable and you can't beat the service. My favorite part of the experience is that first step into the front door when I smell the fresh waffle cones being made. As someone who used to work in an ice cream shop, I have very high standards for what is served to the customer - the scoop sizes we received were noticeably inconsistent when compared to past visits & in my opinion, if a scoop doesn't at least appear to fill the cup, either smaller cups are needed or scoopers should be trained to not have their scoops be so compact. One of the scoops in the double mini we ordered was literally 1/3 the size of the other, cost more than the regular scoop but had less ice cream. The regular scoop was compressed into such a tight, dense ball, it was rolling around my cup like a marble on the drive home. We couldn't help but laugh when we looked in our cups because the portions we had just paid for were comical. For prices that are set at a premium, I want to feel like I'm getting my money's worth and don't like walking out of an establishment feeling ripped off.

Many looked good but I was on a mission. Maple bars and apple fritters. I have had some real good ones so those are my standard. But how could you pass by a donut called "dirty old bastard"?
