I can't recommend this place enough. I've been attending adult classes since October 2020, and I…read morefeel so fortunate that Vancouver has Lykopis around. Patricia works hard to run a fantastic business for archery classes for people of all ages, and the whole Lykopis team does a great job of sharing the knowledge and love for archery. Lykopis teaches historical and intuitive archery, meaning priority is given to embedding the form into your muscle memory first (for good reason). I'd never been too interested in history, but learning the practices and long, long history of archery has sparked a new passion for me. I come home after every lesson eager to share what I've learned with my partner. But Lykopis is more than just an archery school. Sure, they also sell equipment, and they have workshops and viking camp among many, many other things. Their instruction is given with a vast depth of knowledge and with personalized, caring, and fun instruction. But above all, Lykopis has helped me pay close attention to my mind and body, helping to combat an anxiety disorder I've dealt with for the majority of my life. I've realized that I can become even more confident in myself, and I'm grateful to be able to work towards that with Lykopis. TL;DR: Take a class. Try it out. It's both fun and informative, and well worth it.

After you register, sign a waiver, you are prepped with a beginners bow, arrows and equipment. Safety lessons and procedures are well defined and kindly instructed. After getting into the rhythm of it, I was able to shoot a few arrows in the yellow and red target rings and even a balloon! I was beside some experienced archers and was impressed by the speed of their arrows and the small size of their targets they hit. I can see myself returning to better my aim and pop all balloons next time!

The place has lessons/intro to archery which we booked for. The firs 15 minutes, they teach you the technique, the rules of the place, etc. They don't have the arm guard or at least they didn't provide us with them. I think they used to as I remember having/using them before. After they show/demonstrate the technique, they do help you for the first 15-20 minutes to make sure you're holding the bow right and angle properly. After that, they let you shoot. Near the end of your time slot, they put up balloons for you to shoot at. It was a good experience. Since we have now done the intro, you can now book the regular time slots. I recommend this place if you and your friends want to try archery.

There's a cafe (Court 6 Cafe), feet washing station and two showers. The best was when they had a fun weekday drop-in/ladies night but that no longer exists. It's fully booked for league nights (with three sessions). Couple tidbits: - 5 indoor beach courts open year round - Plenty of volleyball league options (2's and 4's). Not cheap as it's about $25.00/session to play - Expensive court rentals ($134.24/hr) unless booked last minute or at odd times ($59.41/hr) The only indoor place to play beach volleyball but be prepared to pay for it.

There were lockers available but we just put our stuff on the tables and benches. Reservations and pricing - booked the reservation via their online platform through catch corner. The pricing wasn't clear online so I had to call ahead of doing the online reservation myself. The online price for the court time for 8+ is the fee set for 8 players. While you can have more players on your court (which makes it great to not have to have finalized group numbers until the day of), the website wasn't clear that basically for anything more than 8, the additional players just had to pay in person instead of online. It would have been easier if the website outlined that the court is meant for x number of players to y number of players and the fee is simply for 8 people. Our group ended up having more than 8 players so we paid for the additional players at the end of our session however staff advised that the in person pricing was actually a few dollars cheaper than the online booking as you're also paying online service fees. They advised that you can simply call in to make a reservation too and staff would just take a credit card deposit for 4 players worth so that would have been a good tip to know when I called in initially..... No one in our group has tried archery tag before. Overall, we had a good and fun experience. All the protective gear is provided and the staff also utilized the first portion of the reservation to teach you and let you practice using the bow and arrow and shooting targets. Since the courts are "beaches", no shoes and socks were allowed. There was a feet washing station so crocs and a towel to dry your feet would've been good items to bring. There's a lot of running around during the game but there's a break between each game. Be sure to bring water otherwise they do offer drinks and food as well.

How to begin the new year ... you might be thinking?…read more By being a survivalist of course ... without the paranoia! Look all around you as you go about your day - zombies aka Karens are everywhere! I lived in Scandinavia back in the day & I had an obsession with knifes & owned a tiny collection. There's lots of trees over there & I liked to carve up wood. I was excited & a big kid all over again (come to think of it I don't think I stopped being a kid ... some might say ... LOL) walking into Gorilla Surplus! It's located on Broadway right in-between Clark & Commercial Drive. It's situated in an old dilapidated shop that looks an old house that's on its last legs! You are not coming here for fine decor or an aesthetic pleasure experience! Why'd I pop in here you ask? Well of course because of the upcoming zombie invasion ... duh!!! Are we not entering into wave #5 & variant #23 or something like that!? Karens are losing their friggin minds & this prolonged pandemic doesn't seem to want to go away! Folks it's getting scary out there ... arm yourselves! Yikes! Many will remember the popular 3 Vets store that closed down in 2017. They used to sell quite the collection of knives & other sporting goods. GS has kinda stepped in as their replacement. GS also has a massive offering of Airsoft guns for all you BB gun enthusiasts, camo & regular survival gear, bags, hats, bear spray & batons - to ward off the zombies ... you know them as Karens! The sales dude with tatts all over him was very helpful & informative. In fact he lead me into buying an item I never in a million years would have thought to buy! I can't wait to use it! I picked up 2 items but I will never tell because Karens/Zombies could be reading this & I don't want to give them a heads-up! Hee! The crazies are here amongst us - people wake up!!!
