Came here for some beach volleyball fun. Had no idea this place existed until now! This is located in the middle of nowhere (aka Mitchell Island). It's actually pretty tricky to get to as it's NOT directly on Mitchell. Instead, you have to slalom through a parking lot and around another large warehouse. It's hard to describe, so be sure to follow the sandwich boards placed strategically on the path. However, parking is plentiful thanks to the location. This place really is a beach, and they did a really good job. 5 courts, and a ton of sand. I had my shoes off in no time. It's a bit pricey at $15 a pop for drop in (usually 2030-closing), but from time to time it's worth it. The sand is clean, the equipment is pretty decent, and there are a TON of people. A few too many, in fact. On Wednesdays it's $10 a person, and on Thursdays, ladies play for free. If you are in a small group (ie not enough for a full 6-person team) no sweat. The staff are good at arranging and plunking people into random teams. Make some new friends, spike a few balls. When you're not playing, there's also a ping pong table and some benches there for you to chill. My only suggestion is that they should have some kind of locker or shelves put up. Everyone was piling their bags and shoes against the side of the playing area. Sand was getting everywhere. Other than the price, I have no complaints at all. If volleyball is your thing, this is a great place to play in the winter.

Was invited to my gfriends bday party here. It was awesome! I didn't really know what to expect, and since it was a beautiful day out I thought it would be a waste of money. but it wasn't at all. Are group was big about 30 people. We had a round robin tournament, the place had 4 courts, we had reserved 3 of them for 2 hours. All of our games were timed. They had a "picnic" area with a ping pong table, beach chairs, and tables. The place is located under the KnightStreet bridge on Mitchell Rd. behind the Badminton building, kinda tucked away. I have to keep this place in mind when the winter season comes around.

After you register, sign a waiver, you are prepped with a beginners bow, arrows and equipment. Safety lessons and procedures are well defined and kindly instructed. After getting into the rhythm of it, I was able to shoot a few arrows in the yellow and red target rings and even a balloon! I was beside some experienced archers and was impressed by the speed of their arrows and the small size of their targets they hit. I can see myself returning to better my aim and pop all balloons next time!

The place has lessons/intro to archery which we booked for. The firs 15 minutes, they teach you the technique, the rules of the place, etc. They don't have the arm guard or at least they didn't provide us with them. I think they used to as I remember having/using them before. After they show/demonstrate the technique, they do help you for the first 15-20 minutes to make sure you're holding the bow right and angle properly. After that, they let you shoot. Near the end of your time slot, they put up balloons for you to shoot at. It was a good experience. Since we have now done the intro, you can now book the regular time slots. I recommend this place if you and your friends want to try archery.

Patricia works hard to run a fantastic business for archery classes for people of all ages, and the whole Lykopis team does a great job of sharing the knowledge and love for archery. Lykopis teaches historical and intuitive archery, meaning priority is given to embedding the form into your muscle memory first (for good reason). I'd never been too interested in history, but learning the practices and long, long history of archery has sparked a new passion for me. I come home after every lesson eager to share what I've learned with my partner. But Lykopis is more than just an archery school. Sure, they also sell equipment, and they have workshops and viking camp among many, many other things. Their instruction is given with a vast depth of knowledge and with personalized, caring, and fun instruction. But above all, Lykopis has helped me pay close attention to my mind and body, helping to combat an anxiety disorder I've dealt with for the majority of my life. I've realized that I can become even more confident in myself, and I'm grateful to be able to work towards that with Lykopis. TL;DR: Take a class. Try it out. It's both fun and informative, and well worth it.

My friend's helmet flew off his head. -You can apply full pressure on the accelerator for the majority of the race if you want to be reckless. -They have an electronic timing system so each lap is timed, and your average lap time determines your ranking. - Great that they can accommodate private groups so that you can race amongst just your friends. - You get to pick a racing name that will appear on the screen and on the race summary, mine was "Speed Trap". - The safety video is important to watch so you understand how to drive the go-kart and adjust the seats and pedals. Cons -They have two phone numbers listed on their website, they should have just one number listed or else customers will try both numbers like I did. -I called them 2 weeks before my reservation and Doug calls me back from his cell phone which is another phone number for me to keep track of. -Doug didn't keep track of my reservation accurately and thought it was the day before, they need to be more organized. -There was a large private group when I visited (100 racers). If you're a larger group call in advance to make a reservation! -The helmets kind of smell like sweat, glad I got a balaclava. Not sure if they clean the inside of the helmets. Protips - Bring your own balaclava to save $2. - It's a very specific track time, so don't be late for your reservation. Damage $33 for 2 races. Each race is 7 min long.
