By day 3, I'd had enough of waiting for Family to return to troubleshoot and I started calling........ So, line item number one that made GTech awesome was.....THEY ANSWERED THE PHONE! After briefly describing the problem he told me what was wrong, what he would have to do, the part he needed to get and finally what time he'd be here. He even explained why he would be here that afternoon instead of immediately-which, of course, he did not have to explain his schedule to me. Additionally, i was under the impression that no RV repair company makes same day calls......so being told it would be handled that day is line item number 2 that makes GTECH awesome. Doug was my technician and OMG! Not only did he do what I needed him to do inside of 20-30min he also gave me a quick RV's 101 tutorial. (So helpful amd im so appreciative.) Doug is extremely well-spoken and he did not talk to me like some men talk to women (ladies know what i mean......like we're idiots). No, I felt like a family member was talking me. At the end, he must have made sure i understood to call for ANYTHING even just a question by repeating that about 3-4 times. GTECH - and Doug, especially, are the go-to guys for RV repair. As long as im dealing with an RV they've gained my loyalty. Just one visit and immediately I wouldnt trust anyone else to help me with my RV issues. this is the closest rv store near me and it was still an hour away. i came here for a replacement…read morefor my 30 year old motorhome converter so i definitely had to go out of my way to visit this place, but it was necessary. when i first arrived, nobody was there to greet me for about 5 minutes, but i figured they were busy so took a look at the products they were selling as i waited. james, the owner, was available to help, and he seemed nice when we first started talking about the part. but as the conversation continued, he started to become a little more condescending about my knowledge of my rig. eventually, he pulled a converter from his stock, but kept it behind the counter. so i was unable to review the specs myself. then he said he would have his wife, lisa, come out to help me in a moment. he left, and i was alone in the store again for maybe 10 minutes this time. when lisa arrived, i began asking her questions about converters, she seemed knowledgeable, and she seemed to be a lot more willing to find answers for me than james. she was friendly and warm and it was a lot easier to chat with her than her husband. james came in a few minutes later, seemingly upset that i hadnt bought the product yet, saying "what? you're not gonna ask about the price or anything? you're gonna talk to my office lady?" first of all, the disrespect to his wife was absurd. especially in front of a customer. secondly, who in their right mind pays for an expensive piece of equipment without making sure its compatible with what they have? its important to note at this point i have only seen the converter and the info that is printed on its label, which is input/output voltage, watts, make, model, and amps. and warnings of course. there was no indication of what battery system its useable with. so i asked james if he knew, and he didn't. how weird that you would be willing to selling an expensive product and not even know its specs. he referred to the packaging it came in to get this information. offering it to me, like i was suspicious of the validity of the converter on its own. the box was not the problem!! i was trying to get info on the converter to make sure it wouldnt ruin my 30 year old rig. and he was extremely defensive that i had the audacity to ask about the product??? he found out its compatible with apm, lead acid, and lipo4. so with that in mind, i needed to know if the item does trickle charging for the lead acid. james, in snot nosed kid fashion, read the entirety of the box aloud even after supplying the information i had asked for. it smelled like the attitude of someone that just sells products without really knowing its quality. at the end of all this, i asked lisa how much the converter was and i decided the experience with james wasnt worth $500+. im sorry lisa has to be talked down to by her husband like that, especially in front of strangers. what an ugly attitude.

After fixing our first problem (air conditioner) we introduced him to our next challenge - Volta lithium ion battery system that is the heart of our RV - it was completely new to him. He thought he had fixed that, but stated later that day after going home, contacting Volta, and devouring the pile of information they sent him, that he was uncomfortable with the way he left us. In talking the following morning, he had an idea, but needed to ask Volta. He called mid day and said he knew what was needed. He came, initiated a dead battery reset, got Volta on the phone to verify what we were seeing. While Volta was on the phone they went through every aspect of the system including how to operate it (bought it used a few months ago and the dealer didn't know). I used them to repair a slide that had been damaged on an Alaska trip. there were a few other…read morethings i needed done as well but i instructed them to not proceed with the work if the slide couldn't be fixed. well they said the slide could be fixed and i ended up doing 6k of work. the slide was not fixed and upon taking it to another dealership i was told the structural damage prevented it from being fixed. i requested a refund and filed a BBB complaint which they have refused despite the clear negligence or malfeasance.
