You cannot find a better INDEPENDENT VW shop in Lexington. Period. I have been going there since 2001 and they are the best.

I have to state that the guy named Wes definitely has integrity. I asked about the theft that was…read moredone to my vehicle, glove compartment opened and a statuette stolen. Thing is, he asked all the techs and the cleaning guy (of which they have one who does all cars) and even had his manager look at a front entrance camera shooting over my vehicle on Friday evening. I did get a call back immediately this morning stating that there was no one inside my car when I came to pick it up. The things that were hit on was that the car is intermittently taken out of the garage when fixed (not always kept in the garage fully at night, only when worked on) and the cars are kept behind a fence. I wish they could pursue this further on all days my car was there from last Wednesday morning to Friday evening (not just Friday evening). This leaves a lot of room of where someone could have jumped a fence and taken something. Even if Fortune has people sign liability waivers, I feel that they could have done a little bit more investigation (no one is suing and no one is asking for compensation, just using their tools to help find evidence and that is not a liability); however, I may take it in my own hands to see what I can do. I thank Wes for all that he has done, I thank the manager, and I thank the staff.

I took my Jeep here years ago for minor back bumper repair. They ended up keeping it longer than…read moreexpected, which I didn't care because my insurance company had provided me with a rental car anyways. But still, I thought that was a ridiculously long time that they had it. The first time that I went in to pick it up, some of the damage was still visible, so they kept it even longer. Seriously, like they are missed part of it, even though the damage was contained to the one area. About two years ago my husband took his Jeep and the same thing, shoty work, they never did get it to his satisfaction. I will admit that he's the pickiest man on earth though. Because it's convenient to my house and work and I thought I'd give it one more shot. I took another car in, just for an estimate. The same guy was working who assisted my husband two years ago. He done this estimate too, so it's not changed over the years. Anyways, this time the damage was to the fender and hood area and the dude didn't even pop the hood. Now, I'm no car expert and don't claim to be, but it doesn't take a genius to know that should've been done. In all fairness, we didn't know how to get the hood up. Neither did the next place, but he went in and apparently googled it, came out and popped the hood and gave a proper estimate... the guy at Meadowthorpe Auto Body. Needless to say Fortune didn't get a third chance with me.

One of the most unique interactions I have ever had. Other than the fact that I was able to get an…read moreestimate quickly and back to work, I am pretty sure some of the adjuster etiquette was not quite right. I basically walked out to my car with him and he just looked at me the entire time. I show him the car and he was like "This is it?" I told him that it was involved in rear ended collision and usually, most adjusters will keep it open and objective. They will not look to the owner of the car to come to a conclusion. He then told me, "I am just being respectful, but I do not think we can find another bumper. I do not see anything." I ended up getting the estimate and it was sent to the insurance company that had this autobody as one of their "preferred" body shops. Weeks went by and nothing was ever made of the claim. I decided to close it because I was worried, after my own research, that any additional estimates might total my vehicle. My vehicle is very old by year. Going back to the experience, it was just odd. Please retrain the red head to be objective about first estimates. Do not look at the client for answers, when walking out to the car. Be objective, be open, not "Oh, I do not see much and I looked under the back end of the car, but I see nothing." No, I barely some this individual get under the car to look. The process is to give a good initial estimate and then regardless of whether or not there needs to be a supplement completed, that is between them and the insurance company. The experience was just demoralizing. I ended up getting a second consultation by Cockrell's and Nate was amazing. I remember him being more objective the last time I went to him and he told me that I need to be careful if I get supplement estimates completed as it could total the vehicle and if the vehicle is drivable, to just use it as is. There comes a time when a vehicle gets to the point where repairing it aesthetically becomes second priority over the value of actually being able to use the vehicle.

My 2022 Outback was damaged by shingles flying onto it during a windstorm that occurred about 6…read moreweeks after I had purchased the car used, in 2023. The car is white pearl so I called and arranged an appointment for them to give an estimate thinking it would be best to have the Subaru dealership repair shop to match the paint. I had to call again because neither I nor my insurance company received the estimate in a timely fashion. I had to call Quantrell multiple times and was told their schedule was full and they would have to call me back. They did not call me back. I called one time and was told that they were under new management and would try to find my information. I ended up driving back to Quantrell collision only to learn that they had cleaned house (terminated the woman who handles scheduling and the manager). They wanted to give another estimate different from the one in the computer because they said my bumper could not be repainted. The estimate increased and they had to work with my insurance company to get the amount increased on the claim. I received a check in the mail from my insurance company with both my name and Quantrell on it. I called Quantrell and left messages, and they did not call me back to schedule my appointment to get the work done. I paid another visit and met a guy who claimed to be the new manager and he said they would call me right back to schedule the car. At this point, the check was near expiration. The check ended up expiring and now the insurance company says the funds were sent to the state of Kentucky, and I need to submit a claim to the state for missing property. I may have to sue my insurance company, though Quantrell Collision has some culpability in all of this. I'm trying to get my car repaired more than 2 years later by Checkered Flag in Georgetown because they have their stuff together and they know how to treat people and get their stuff done in a timely fashion. The owner of Checkered Flag (and his family who all work there) has a heart of gold.
