I have to state that the guy named Wes definitely has integrity. I asked about the theft that was done to my vehicle, glove compartment opened and a statuette stolen. Thing is, he asked all the techs and the cleaning guy (of which they have one who does all cars) and even had his manager look at a front entrance camera shooting over my vehicle on Friday evening. I did get a call back immediately this morning stating that there was no one inside my car when I came to pick it up. The things that were hit on was that the car is intermittently taken out of the garage when fixed (not always kept in the garage fully at night, only when worked on) and the cars are kept behind a fence. I wish they could pursue this further on all days my car was there from last Wednesday morning to Friday evening (not just Friday evening). This leaves a lot of room of where someone could have jumped a fence and taken something. Even if Fortune has people sign liability waivers, I feel that they could have done a little bit more investigation (no one is suing and no one is asking for compensation, just using their tools to help find evidence and that is not a liability); however, I may take it in my own hands to see what I can do. I took my Jeep here years ago for minor back bumper repair. They ended up keeping it longer than expected, which I didn't care because my insurance company had provided me with a rental car anyways. But still, I thought that was a ridiculously long time that they had it. The first time that I went in to pick it up, some of the damage was still visible, so they kept it even longer. Seriously, like they are missed part of it, even though the damage was contained to the one area. About two years ago my husband took his Jeep and the same thing, shoty work, they never did get it to his satisfaction. I will admit that he's the pickiest man on earth though. Because it's convenient to my house and work and I thought I'd give it one more shot. I took another car in, just for an estimate. The same guy was working who assisted my husband two years ago. He done this estimate too, so it's not changed over the years. Anyways, this time the damage was to the fender and hood area and the dude didn't even pop the hood. Now, I'm no car expert and don't claim to be, but it doesn't take a genius to know that should've been done. In all fairness, we didn't know how to get the hood up. Neither did the next place, but he went in and apparently googled it, came out and popped the hood and gave a proper estimate... the guy at Meadowthorpe Auto Body. This review is for the Fortune Collision Centre location in Nicholasville, KY (but since there are no reviews for that location, and listing looks out of date, figured I'd leave it here). They earned my business going forward! Just swung by there yesterday morning to get a quick estimate. Some lowlife keyed my wife's new car (early Xmas present). The manager, Chris Jacobs, came right out, took a look, and said, "We might be able to buff that out. Let me try." He took the keys and pulled it into the shop. About 5 minutes later he came up front to waiting area and said, "I think this is going to come right out without repainting. I just did a small section. Come back and let me know what you think." Sure enough, the scratch was only in the clear coat and Chris was able to get 95% of the scratch out by just wet sanding/buffing the area! I told him it looked great and he said, "OK, give me about 10 more minutes and I'll do the rest." Fifteen minutes went by instead before Chris finally pulled the car around. He apologized for taking extra time but said, "I wanted to get the polishing compound dust off so I just went ahead and washed the whole car." I asked how much for taking care of this so quickly and he said, "Oh, nothing. Just keep us in mind next time you need a repair." WOW! I just stopped by for an estimate. In about 30 minutes Chris buffed out the scratch, didn't try and push any additional services at all (he said, "If it were me I wouldn't bother repainting it...most of the scratch came out"), AND washed the car, too! He just earned a future customer for sure! It's like going to the dentist...while I hope I don't need Fortune's services anytime soon it's still nice having a "go to" if and when the need arises. I had to get an estimate and repair on my vehicle due to someone clipping my bumper trying to turn. I went here as I've used them about 7 yrs or so ago. The receptionist was very nice and friendly. The Inspection guys were good too. They coordinated with Enterprise so the third party could pay for my rental too. They spoke and made arrangement with the person paying for the damage out of pocket directly. They cleaned the car even on the inside in the front when they didn't have to. Ahmed the wheels as well. HORRENDOUS. This horrible place deserves no stars and no business from anyone who wants their car to look exactly how it should. Especially women. One would you think that a body shop would know how to match a bumper without damageing the vehicle further but you'd be VERY wrong. I really want to hit on the incomptence, arrogance, and sexism that is at work at this company. I just needed a bumper replacement after being backed into, which they indeed did replace. They called us after and said they didn't want to give us my vehicle because they didn't think that I would want the bumper to be a different color than my car which of course they were right, we didn't. They still FAILED to match the bumper color with then rest of my vehicle which we pointed out when they tried to give it back. They apologized and said they were getting their best painter with "32 years of experience" on it. For that many years of so called experience you'd think he would match it perfectly, WRONG. It looked like they didn't even retouch it and just kept it to say they tried to fix it. When i went to pick up my vehicle this time around they said, "We couldn't match it because your paint needed to be magnetically fused to the metal, but since your bumper is plastic this is the best we can do." I replied with, "Then was my old bumper metal? Because it matched completely and I'm almost certian that it was indeed plastic also." This man had the nerve to say to my face, "Oh they use factory paint its totally different since they can thin it out more, you wouldn't know." So which one is it you sexist man, you dont have the right factory paint that's thin enough or my bumper needed to be metal to match? None of it made sense! Finally after threating them with a lawsuit they said they would match my paint, which they did and it looks better. Till you notice all the scratches, and EXPOSED METAL!! Sure they fixed the bumper finally but then they damaged three different parts of my vehicle doing it!! Then they had the audacity to acuse me of doing it myself, luckily for my lawyers, I took a video and pictures of my car before dropping it off for the FOURTH time. This man's faced dropped so quickly when I said such and showed him that those damaged areas where in fact NOT there when I dropped my vehicle off. He replied stating that they would fix it but I needed to return my rental so someone else could use it but they promised to call tomorrow to schedule when to fix it. No call, no email, so now I'm suing because clearly they think I'm just a dumb woman who "wouldn't know". I took a car in for a new hood and to paint part of the grill a different color. You drive right into their building and get an estimate quickly. They had the parts within one business day. They kept me in the loop at all times. We did have a minor communication issue regarding the addition paint, but they took responsibility for the error and still had the car ready on the day they said it would be done. We picked up the car. It looked great and was detailed inside and out. It looked like a brand new car. I took a chance and it paid off. Like you I am looking for a reputable place to restore my vehicle. Even through my car is a few years old...I keep it looking new. So I don't want any Joe with a garage to do the repair work. With full coverage on my car, I realized that I can take it anywhere for the repair. So I look into what my Insurance (GEICO) recommended: Fortune Collision Auto Body Shop on New Circle. Google tells me they have 2.8 stars out of 23 reviews. Now these number did not sit well with me. So I read the review from the worst up and I came across the managers' name Fred Sizemore. Boy am I glad someone have mentioned him. I reached out to him with obvious concern regarding the reviews and he called me back and assured me that they will take care of my car. Something in his voice tells me to take a chance on him. So I made arrangement with my family to have my vehicle dropped off. Upon arriving there...I was surprised to find a VIP parking for GEICO customer "This Space Reserved for GEICO Auto Repair Xpress" so I confidently locked all the doors, dropped my key in an envelope with my contact information in their Key drop door before they open so I can get to work on time. Before you know it, someone by the name of Josh already spoke to my Insurance adjustor and was asking for my permission to start the work. I like (thumbs up). Already know what my deductible was so I say go ahead & start ASAP. By that afternoon...I get a text message of the Status on the repair and survey with an option to STOP to cancel. And a link to the ESTIMATE of record summary. Cool! (thumbs up). Every day for the next few days I get a text update on the progress. Fred also follow up to make sure I am being taking care of. Awesome Customer service! You know what...they got it repaired one day prior to the estimated date...I am excited. So I go over there to pick up, and Rachael greeted me with a smile, I paid and she bring my beautiful restored car back to the original glory. I am happy! Thank you Fortune Collision. It took Fortune Collision two months to fix our car. They told us it would take a couple of days. The manager Matt told us that he would cover our extra insurance on the rental car since it was the other person's fault 100%. My wife opted for the insurance since she was injured in a rear-end collision in October 2011 and felt better with the extra insurance. After being promised on several occasions that we would receive a reimbursement check....it never has been done. We took our car to Fortune Collision because they were top of mind from all of their advertising. We are new to the area and really did not have any recomendations. The manager Matt told us that it would take a couple of days to fix our car. After a week and no calls from the company, we called them to see what the progress was. Matt told us that they had to redo some things and had to stretch the car since it had been hit so hard in the rear. He told us it would be done that week and that he would call us. We still received no call. So, we called back the following week. The car still was not done due to not being able to get a part. It is a 2008 Toyota Avalon. We found out later that Fortune Collision was trying to locate a used part. The manager told us that they would have to order a new one and it would be there the next day. He said that it would be done that week ( the third week) . My wife told Matt that she still had the added $20 per day insurance on the rental car. He said to not worry about that, he would get it reimbursed. He promised. After one month of calls and no car, we dropped the insurance. It had accumulated to $300 and we were paying out of pocket. Fortune Collision finally called us to tell us our car was ready. We drove over to get it. Something did not look right. We popped the trunk and tried to close it. It would not latch unless we slammed it hard. After it was closed, the trunk was so off center that we could put our fingers through the seam between the trunk lid and the fender on the left side. The right side was almost touching the right fender. Also the rear tail light was cracked and out of position. The manager Matt came out to look at it and was very apologetic. He said that it was unacceptable and that we would have to leave it there again. He said he would have it ready in a day or two. We never heard from them that week. I called back and he said he would check and call us back. We heard back a couple of days later with the news that it was ready. We drove over again to pick up our car. Upon opening the trunk again, we noticed a bad paint run on one of the seams inside the trunk on the fender weld. The manager was apologetic again and told us to wait while he took it back into the shop for a quick 15 minute repair. We waited. They were fairly quick and brought it back out to us. It still was not perfect or factory like repair but we accepted it. We asked Matt about the rental car insurance that he said he would reimburse. He told us to get a receipt and fax it back to him and he would take care of it. After we received his verbal statement (we should have gotten it in writing) We signed the papers and payed the deductable. We immediately drove to Enterprise to get a copy of receipt for the add on insurance. It was around 300 dollars. We then hand delivered it to Enterprise. The receptionist told us she would give it to Matt. We drove home. We never heard from Matt and after waiting for over two weeks never received a check. I called Matt again to ask about the reibursement check and he said he never thought it was going to be that high. He also told me that they receive the reimbursement from the other person's insurance who was at fault in the accident. He tried to get me to settle for $100. I had $300 out of pocket for the insurance and his initial promise to us was to pay the full amount. After dealing with him for over three months, I agreed to go halves with him. He said he would get a check cut for us for $150. For a $6000 repair, we can't even get a small $150 promised reimbursement check from Fortune Collision. At the end of February 2012 we still had not received the reimbursement check so I called Matt again. This time he said that he had forgotten about it and that it was his fault and he apologized again. He said he appreciated our patience and had the bill sitting on his desk under some other papers. He said that he would get it taken care of that day. He used the words "I promise" again. It is now March 17, 2012 and we have not received the reimbursement check. This is a true story so please, if you get a verbal from Matt, also get it in writing. He says that he is sorry, compliments us that we are very nice people and appreciates our patience. He even told us that he wished all of his customers were as nice as we are, but he promises things and does not deliver. Here are the reasons why I do not like/recommend Fortune Collision (total of 3 different visits/incidents in the past) 1. Car was washed only once out of three visits 2. On all 3 occasions, the interior of the car was very dirty with dirt/mud and nasty grease stains all over the light colored leather interior. 3. On 2 out of 3 occasions, they forgot to remove painter's tape in various locations, after finishing the paint job. One time, the fuel door was stuck with tape on the inside. 4. On 2 out of 3 occasions the work was delayed, but I was not informed of the delays until the GEICO adjuster or I called on the promised date. 5. After the most recent repair, there is a noticeable rattle in the back, which did not exist prior to the collision. So, looks like this repair shop fixes only the cosmetic stuff (like the broken bumper), instead of looking deeply at what else may have been impacted behind the bumper. 6. One time, the molding on the car door started peeling off from one side within two days of getting it repainted. It was fixed at no cost, but that meant another visit to the body shop and almost an hour of my time. This is the only body shop I have dealt with for 3 different incidents because they partner with GEICO. If I am unfortunate enough to have another repair or paint job done in future, I will definitely go with a different shop to at least see if there is something better in Lexington. I could be wrong and may be the alternatives are worse. I find it hard to believe that this is the best service I can get for my money. read more

My husband brought his truck in for some body work on 12/5/2016. He had gotten an insurance estimate two months prior, but held off on the work to coincide with our vacation so he would only be without a vehicle for one week of the two weeks they told him it would take to complete. When we returned from vacation he called to find out when he could pick up his truck and was told that it wasn't done yet, and to check back in a few days. He called again 4 days later and this time they admitted they hadn't even started the work because there were some back-ordered parts. They didn't offer to pay for a rental car or let him pick up his truck and keep it until the parts arrived, so we assumed it was only a matter of days. No word from Fortune for two weeks, so he called again and they said to check back in a few days. Then it was almost done, just needed a few more days, and then a few more days. He finally got to pick his truck up on 1/17/17. And when he did finally bring it home he started having problems with his battery, most likely from sitting idle for all that time. As an update, after two attempts to repair damage to my driver's side door, I finally got my car back . . .and the inside door handle, which HAD been working is not working now. I recently took my Toyota 4 Runner there, after a collision with damage to the passengers side. They kept it a total of 5 weeks, my husband and I went there several different times to pick it up. Each time there was something that wasn't repaired. The last time they dropped it off to me at my work, and I knew it wasn't fixed but decided to keep it because they clearly can't repair it. The bumper was "glued" in place because according the them, there is a manufacturing flaw with Toyota bumpers. However one day after getting it back the bumper is popped out of alignment, the steering continues to be out of alignment. They failed to put freon back in the A/C or wash fluid in it. Fortune told us there is a life time warranty on there work. However, they have refused to try to correct any of these problems and my vehicle is now at a different shop. read more

I will never go to Fortune Collision again and have been actively seeking our opportunities to warn others away from them as well. I had chosen to do the repair work there due to the accident occurring out of state and having bought the car at Paul Miller Ford, I remembered Fortune and thought that I was making a good choice by having it taken back to the dealership. Ha-joke was on me. Originally I was told it would take a week to 10 days for the repairs. It ended up taking over two months and three weeks (I got it back 3 days before the three month mark). I was not informed of the delays and received 'updates' only when I called them. Also, several times I was told conflicting information such as "we should have it ready tomorrow' then 2 weeks later, "we're waiting for parts" and "we are test driving the car now" and then on a later date"we have to test drive it to make sure everything is fine" The employees were pleasant to talk to but that doesn't count for much when the repairs were taking such a long time and when I kept getting confusing/conflicting information from them. Two more things: when I got the car back the fuel light was on and I know it was full when the accident occurred. Also, there are lots of grease stains on the roof and around the mirrors that were not there previously. So I deeply regret having gone to Fortune Collision and will certainly never go again. read more

I will never bring my car here again. The estimated time for my car was two weeks, which I understand can change due to things that are out of their control, but it ended up being almost 2 months before I got my car back, and never got any phone calls in between to let me know that my car was going to take longer. I'd have to call and figure out what was going on. Towards the end, I called to find out if it was ready and how much it would cost. They transferred me to the guy that handles allstate insurance, who originally told me he could probably knock some money off of the deductible for me, he told me he wasn't in his office and would call me back to let me know. No call back. I call again 2 days later, says he again wasn't in his office, but he was almost there so would call me back in 5 minutes, never called back. Called again the next day, finally got him while he was at the office, said my car had been ready for a week and it was the full deductible. So they didn't even call me to let me know it was ready, I had to find out a week later, and even though he wasn't obligated to, it upsets me that he convinced me to bring my car there because he could knock some money off the deductible, but he didn't even do that. I had an accident on June 25, 2016 in my 2015 F150, which I bought from Dutch Chevrolet and Ford. I had only had it 11 months at the time. I had Allstate Insurance. The damage was mostly cosmetic, on the entire right side of the PU. I brought the truck to Dutch's body and paint shop. Allstate claimed that the shop at Dutch was not qualified to do body work on aluminum, so they moved the truck to Fortune Collision in Lexington KY. It took 5 weeks for Allstate to give Fortune the go-ahead to start the work. It took them 5 weeks to get the truck finished. When I got it home, I noticed that there were dirty hand prints all over the head liner and the inside of the windshield, and foot prints all over the seats. I brought it to Dutch, and they cleaned it up for me, and charged Fortune for the work. A few weeks later, the headliner and side curtain airbag started to come down, and the passenger door whistled as though I had the window opened a little bit. So I made arrangements to bring it back to Fortune. They kept it for 4 days, and called me to come and pick it up. That was Dec. 22, 2016. On the way home, the passenger door whistled just as it did before I brought it in. This only happens at highway speeds, so I didn't realize it until I was on my way home. I called Fred Sizemore and left a message on his voicemail, and until this day, Jan. 6, 2017, he has not returned my call. My truck was only 11 months old at the time of the accident. It was in perfect shape. There was less than 15,000 miles on it. But I was driving a damaged vehicle for 6 months afterwards because Fortune Collision is incompetent. My accident was handled very badly by Allstate Insurance and Fortune Collision. I don't know why Allstate had my truck moved from Dutch's. I suspect collusion. read more
